2 MAGAZINE LAYOUT AWAY Travel Magazine AWAY is a fictional travel magazine that I created for an assignment in order to develop magazine layout and design skills. Additionally, I gained experience in developing publications for an intended audience, as well as researching and writing a proof of concept. The magazine includes five articles and three advertisements, all of which were created by myself. My own photography was used for this project. This project required Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

3 FIXED LAYOUT E-PUB AWAY Travel Magazine A second assignment involved reformatting our print publication into an e-magazine. In addition to redesigning for tablet and mobile, we were tasked with adding interactivity to the magazine, and ensuring that the user could easily navigate through the e-publication. Some of the interactivity I added included videos, navigation, photo galleries, hyperlinks, scrolling frames, and buttons. Adobe InDesign was used to create this e-pub.

4 WEB BRANDING Kelsea Ballerini s Unapologetically I developed a website concept to promote Kelsea Ballerini s newest CD, Unapologetically. I used knowledge of responsive web design, colour theory, and typography to ensure that the branding aligned with the artist s album and would appeal to the intended audience. In addition to a website, I developed a proof of concept, creative brief, style guide, wireframe, and mock-up. The website was designed with HTML5, CSS3, and jquery. It was built with Adobe Dreamweaver.

5 CD PACKAGE DESIGN Kelsea Ballerini s Unapoloegtically In addition to designing and building a website, I created a CD package design for Kelsea Ballerini s Unapologetically. I used common themes and elements throughout the booklet and CD package to ensure consistency and appeal to her target audience. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the package layout with proper dimensions, and Adobe Photoshop was used for minor photo editing.

6 CORPORATE IDENTITY Aspire Learning Centre This project involved researching an existing company, defining a message that would appeal to their target audience, and building brand pieces that could effectively communicate the message. The company I chose, Aspire Learning Centre, was based on Kumon. I also engaged with a fictional client who provided feedback at each phase of development. All pieces were created with Adobe Illustrator.

7 MAGAZINE + SOCIAL ADVERTISEMENT Canadian Paediatric Society I developed an ad concept for the Canadian Paediatric Society, which, based on my own research, would be most effective and engaging if published in Today s Parent magazine and shared on their Instagram account. The purpose of my advertisement is to encourage parents to read to their children in order to foster their imagination and a life-long love of reading. Adobe InDesign and Photoshop were used to achieve the end result.

8 VECTOR DRAWING Self-Portrait Using only Adobe Illustrator, I created a vector representation of an image of myself. This project gave me a better understanding of Illustrator s tools and functionalities. Some of which include the pen tool, shape builder tool, brushes, colour tools, compound paths, etc.

9 SELL SHEET Eve s Crackers I created a sell sheet for Eve s Crackers, which is a small cracker company based out of Whistler, BC. The company prides itself on crackers that are full of healthy fats and free from preservatives. I used a table to compare Eve s Crackers to the average cracker sold in the supermarket. Based on the intended audience, I believe that this table will be most effective in persuading vendors to sell this product, as it makes the numerous health benefits very clear. Adobe InDesign was used to create this sell sheet.
