4 SATORI READER 1. INTRODUCTION Satori is providing users a user friendly RSS reader. Where RSS mean a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it RSS solves a problem for people who regularly use the web. It allows you to easily stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the sites you are interested in. You save time by not needing to visit each site individually. You ensure your privacy, by not needing to join each site's newsletter. The number of sites offering RSS feeds is growing rapidly and includes big names like Yahoo News. So Satori provides an application for RSS reader which can be obtained from the Satori App Center which can be opened by clicking the Manage App button from Menu- Figure 1 Manage Apps >Apps->Manage apps. (As shown in Figure-1). By clicking this user can able to open Satori Apps center where user can find and manage all kind of applications from the satori. From the Satori apps center page user have to move the mouse pointer around the icon so that the button called Add to my profile, By clicking that will add the application to the profile. 5 [Tip-1] User can use Keyboard Shortcut to open Satori App Center by pressing key g then a then c. If the application was already add to the users profile or after doing the above process user can find the respective application form the list of applications added to the profile as shown in Figure-3 (Blue circled part). [Tip-2] User can also user Keyboard shortcut to open Satori Reader by pressing the key g then s then r Once Satori Reader is been added to satori profile then it will be some times suggested in dashboard to open the application. Process flow in the RSS feed is having the process of adding new URL for reader, sharing the feed to the people who are following him and removing RSS feed (Unsubscribing). And user can able to share the feeds with the people who are following the current user and then user can remove the subscribed RSS URL. These process are elaborated in this manual. 4

6 3. DESCRIPTION. If user is viewing the Reader page for first time then it will be looking like the Figure-5 Figure 5 Reader page for first time Where user can able to add the URL in the Add Feed URL division in the top of the page. a) Adding the Feed URL. If user wants to have the RSS feeds in his reader then user need to enter the valid RSS feed URL in to the division shown in Figure-6 form the Reader page. Figure 6 Adding URL As shown in Figure-6 user can able to enter the valid URL into the input field then user have to submit the URL by clicking Add button. Then it will be added to the reader. And that will be looking like Figure-7. Once it was added then the total RSS feed link will be feed up with the title of the Reader as mentioned in the Figure-7. When user clicks the title then it will open all the reader in the separate window. And clicking each and individual feed will open a new window with the actual page of the feed. 5

7 Figure 7 Added RSS feed If invalid URL is been added then it will show the error like shown in Figure-8 Figure 8 Error for invalid URL b) Managing the RSS Feed list User can manage the List of RSS feeds added by the user. If number of RSS feed was added in the reader then it will be looking like Figure-9. Figure 9 Managing RSS Feeds 6

8 Those added URLs are displayed in left panel of the reader as mentioned in the Figure-9 and by clicking each link will refresh the page with the respective feed in the reader. User can able to share the RSS feed by clicking this icon to the people who are all following by the current user. Then user can also delete (Unsubscribe) the RSS URL by clicking this icon. 4. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS QUESTION: Can I remove the RSS Feed URL? ANSWER: Yes you can remove the RSS feed URL by clicking this icon. QUESTION: ANSWERS: QUESTION: ANSWER: Who can see the Shared RSS Feeds? Users who are all following you can able to see the feeds as a BUZZ in their activity streams. Can I add multiple news feed URLs? Yes, But you can not see all in one page, Each feeds will shows in separate page. QUESTION: ANSWER: How can I check added news feeds in my account? List of added URL in news feed will be mentioned in right side of the feeds. (Refer Managing RSS feed list) 7
