OVERVIEW The Home page is the first screen users will see after logging

It consists of a Banner Bar and a Menu Bar atop three distinct areas:

3 OVERVIEW The Home page is the first screen users will see after logging into IEPPLUS. It consists of a Banner Bar and a Menu Bar atop three distinct areas: Notifications, Students and News Feed. BANNER BAR The Banner Bar includes the IEPPLUS Logo to the left and various navigation icons to the right. Hovering over the IEPPLUS logo will display the current Version information SunGard Public Sector Inc. All Rights Reserved. Page 3 of 8

4 The Banner Bar icons are: Notifications opens the Notifications Viewer in a separate window. The number to the left of the icon indicates the number of unread messages in the viewer. Home displays the IEPPLUS Home page. Help opens the IEPPLUS Help menu. Support opens the SunGard Support Portal where the user can enter a new support case or view an existing one (login credentials are required). Logout exits out of IEPPLUS. MENU BAR The Menu Bar is always visible, and allows the user to navigate anywhere in the application without having to return to the Home page. The Menu Bar includes the Home icon on the left, individual Menus for Student Management, Reporting, Utilities, Maintenance, System Options, Security and Administration, plus a quick Student Search option on the top right. The available menu options will depend on the user s security permissions. STUDENT SEARCH The short cut keys Alt-S or Shift-Alt-S (Internet Explorer or Fire Fox respectively) will move the cursor to the quick search box. Student search initially will display the students in the user s caseload. Clicking in the Student Search box will automatically display all active students in the users caseload (green check box). Type a student first name, last name, id or date of birth and the system will automatically search for all students (that the user us permitted to see based on security) regardless of the caseload defined. Clicking on a student s name will navigate to that student. NOTIFICATIONS The Notifications area provides a way to view all the notification messages that have been generated and sent to a user SunGard Public Sector Inc. All Rights Reserved. Page 4 of 8

5 The black circle in the upper left corner will indicate the number of unread messages the user has in the viewer. The messages provide important information, such as student status changes, new enrollments, disciplinary events, meeting changes, etc. For more information, please refer to the PLUS 360 Notifications User and Admin Guides. STUDENTS The Students area of the Home page provides the ability to search by Student Name, ID or Birth Date. Clicking the Caseload Only check box will limit the display to only the students with the green icon checked. Clicking on a student s name will open the student record. 6 This icon indicates the student is included in the user s caseload. This feature is used for the IEPPLUS Notifications feature. Clicking the icon will remove the student from the caseload. Clicking it again will add the student back. The blue icon with an arrow allows the assignment of a student to another user s caseload. This feature is used for the IEPPLUS Notifications feature. Click the icon, select a Staff member from the drop down list, and click the Assign button. The blue student icon provides access to the Student Drawer. Where available, the Student Drawer will contain information from both eschoolplus and IEPPLUS, such as emergency contact information, class schedules, registration, tests, and classwork. For more information, please refer to the Student Drawer User Guide. *Note: The section label normally is Students. The label is configurable and may differ based on the district s settings under Maintenance > Manage Screen Configuration > System > Student Wording. The building and grade will display based on the student s current Enrollment or Placement (wherever the student s building is stored) as of today. If no Placement/Enrollment record is found, the next future Placement/Enrollment record is used to report the information. If neither a current nor future record is found, the system will use the latest previous record in the past. For districts that store the Building and Grade in the Student s enrollment record (e.g. Ohio, Missouri and Virginia), this functionality requires the Reporting Show enrollment grade item checked. To access this configuration setting, go to Options > System Wide Options > Administration tab. Districts using enrollment rather than placement must select the option: NEWS FEED OVERVIEW The News Feed provides a way to display information to all users via the Home Page. Each news item will display for 15 seconds before rotating to the next item. Rotation will stop if the user positions the cursor on the item, clicks the pause button or pages through the display manually using the buttons in the upper right corner. Users with appropriate security will see the Manage News Feed link and will be able to add, edit or delete news items SunGard Public Sector Inc. All Rights Reserved. Page 6 of 8

SECURITY To enable administrative privileges for the news feed, navigate to Security > Manage Groups or Manage Users, select a group or user, click

Scroll down to the Administration section depicted in the screenshot below, and click on the permissions being granted (add, edit, delete).

The pop-up window illustrated below will display. Clicking Add or Edit will open a text box.

7 SECURITY To enable administrative privileges for the news feed, navigate to Security > Manage Groups or Manage Users, select a group or user, click Edit, then click on the Permissions tab. Scroll down to the Administration section depicted in the screenshot below, and click on the permissions being granted (add, edit, delete). When finished, click the Save icon. MANAGE NEWS FEED To add, edit or delete a news item, click the Manage News Feed link. The pop-up window illustrated below will display. Clicking Add or Edit will open a text box. Copy and paste the news item or enter it directly into the text box. Enter a Headline, Begins and Expires Dates and Save the changes. Future start dates will enable the news feed on the date specified. The expiration date will remove the item from the news feed on the date specified SunGard Public Sector Inc. All Rights Reserved.
