1 Destiny II Upgrade - Class 1 In this first part of the Destiny II Upgrade classes we ll start to explore new features in the Destiny II and included in the Upgrade 1 kit for the Destiny. We ll look at how to use the new line types and new shapes in IQ Designer; play with the new text editing and alignment features; and discover all of the great options that the new grouping feature offers. The Stippling key is found here now, as is the Applique key and the Grouping key. The lettering editing keys are on the second page of the Edit menu. Touch the down arrow key at the bottom of the menu to get to the second page.

2 Destiny II Upgrade - Class 1 2 Stippling Settings. Stippling key is located in the Edit menu now and has options. Stippling Next page Hoop: You can choose the size hoop you want by using the arrow keys. ~ Notice that when you select a hoop that is too small for the design on the page, it will appear as gray behind the design. ~ When you choose a hoop size that you can use, the stippling will be visible behind the design. Distance: ~ The value ranges from -5mm to 5 mm. ~ Setting it to 0.0 may cause the stippling to sew over some of the thinner lines of the embroidery. ~ If you want it to be very close, set it to 0.1 and that should prevent that from happening. ~ You can see the changes on the design page as you make adjustments. Spacing: The spacing value is the distance between the stippling lines. ~ The value ranges from 2mm to 50mm. Choose Hoop Adjust Distance from design Adjust Spacing

3 Destiny II Upgrade - Class 1 3 ~ Default setting is 5mm ~ Select Preview key to see your results, but you can still adjust the values NOTE: Once you touch the OK key, you can NOT change any of the values unless you delete the stippling and start over. IQ Designer: New Shapes keys and options New Stamped shapes keys ~ 30 new Closed shapes ~ New Open shapes key ~ Saved outlines key ~ Frame embroidering areas key As you resize a design you can see the size value and adjustments being made New Stitch properties settings menus: ~ Zigzag width key ~ Density settings key New Line options: Two new Line options: Candlewicking & Chainstitch Candlewicking: Stitch properties settings ~ Size: The size of each candlewicking stitch. Range is 3mm to 10mm ~ Spacing: Spacing between Candlewicking stitches. Range is 0 to 10mm NOTE: Save before you stitch so you can go back and edit and don t have to start over. Lettering Correction & Alignment: These features are available only when working with the fonts that are located in the tab circled in this screen shot to the right. Text correction: Can correct spelling errors without having to start over. Use the arrow keys, circled below, to move the cursor through the text until the box is around the character you want to edit. ~ Must hit the Delete button first before selecting the correct letter(s) you want. ~ If you want to insert a space, move the cursor to the spot before you want the space. NOTE: All text must be edited before it is set on the design page.

4 Destiny II Upgrade - Class 1 4 New Text Alignment key: Located at the bottomof the text page. Hit the text Alignment key and you will see the changes as it goes from Center to Right to Left justifcation. Defaults at Center alignment. NOTE: All text spelling and spacing adjustments must be done before it is set on the design page. Text Alignment key Group & Ungrouping: When you set multi-line text on the Embroidery design page, it will automatically be grouped. This is helpful so you can move it and not mess up the alignment. If you want to use any of the text editing options you must first ungroup the lines of text to activate those options. Group/Ungroup Font editing options are farther down on the Edit menu so use the down arrow at the bottom of the menu. Next page To group items together, there is a new Grouping menu key. ~ Two ways to select items for grouping: clicking design element on the screen or using the Select arrows & Set button. ~ Pink box indicates an item has been selected for grouping. ~ When you use this key, the items only stay grouped until they are deselected. If you select elsewhere on the design page, the items selected automatically become ungrouped.

5 Destiny II Upgrade - Class 1 5 ~ If you want your grouped items to stay grouped, with the multiple items selected, select the Group/Ungroup key again. ~ There are two other keys in the Grouping menu: Select all and Deselect all.
