1 NEW FEATURES A preview of all the main features of the new WebSite X5 version 11. THE GRAPHIC INTERFACE AND OFFLINE PREVIEWS GRAPHIC INTERFACE The program's interface has been completely restyled: now it's more up-to-date, modern and functional. The new button bar layouts give you more flexibility in using the available space and allow you to reduce the minimum window size. These changes will make your work and project development more pleasant. A NEW DESIGN FOR THE GUIDED TOUR The basic idea is the same but we have re-organized the 5- step procedure that WebSite X5 proposes to make it even more logical and functional. For example, you'll find all the features for managing custom code and optimization in the new Statistics, SEO and Code window in Step 4, and you'll also notice that style definition has been moved to Step 1 because it is part of the procedure of defining the graphic template. GRAPHIC TEMPLATES NEW TEMPLATE MANAGEMENT The graphic template is no longer saved as an external file but becomes an integral part of the project file. This change will make it easier to move projects to other computers and manage the various resources that are linked to the projects. NEW TEMPLATE MANAGEMENT The styles of the navigation menus, texts, tooltips, showboxes and s have been moved from the Advanced Settings to the properties of the graphic template: now, when you export your template, it will be complete in every part. DEFAULT TEMPLATE LIBRARY The library of an initial set of 1,500 graphic templates has been renewed. Now, it is updated automatically from the Internet so that, when we release new templates, they will be added automatically to your library. CUSTOM TEMPLATE You can create original layouts by positioning the navigation menu in any part of the template header. 1

2 PAGE CREATION NEW OBJECT MANAGEMENT As well as the main objects that you're used to, you can also use optional objects to insert different kinds of content. The optional object library is kept up-to-date via the Internet: choose the objects you want to install and display to create a dashboard of tools that is the most appropriate for the project you are developing. CELL STYLE The styles you define for the cells are useful for creating graphic boxes that make your page layout more interesting: save your styles in the library and use the import/export features to use them again in other projects. TEXTS AND TABLES WEB FONTS Thanks to the new Web Fonts feature, you are no longer limited to using the same old fonts for the text in your pages. Integrate the Web Fonts, including Google Fonts, in your projects and use them to enhance your pages. You can be sure that they will be displayed in exactly the same way you have chosen. TEXT EDITOR We have developed a new text editor: this new editor guarantees you improved text management, use of Web fonts and a complete range of commands for all your usual formatting work. CONTENT STYLE If you change the content style, the changes will be automatically applied to all the paragraphs that you have associated with the change. The result will be pages that all look alike, without having to make lots of manual changes. IMAGES AND GALLERIES MORE THAN 200,000 FREE PIC- TURES Thanks to the collaboration with the Pixabay portal, you can access an archive of over 200,000 free pictures directly from WebSite X5, choose the ones that you prefer and add them to your projects. The imported pictures will be downloaded automatically from the Internet and ready to use. DOWNLOADING THE PICTURES Your pictures won't all be uploaded at the same time when a page is displayed online: instead, each picture is loaded exactly when it is required. Pages are often quite long and need to be scrolled: having each picture uploaded exactly when it is needed reduces the time required for displaying a page and so improves the visitor's experience when visiting your website. BUILT-IN GRAPHIC EDITOR You can now specify the proportions to be maintained when fitting pictures into the available space: you can thus obtain greater precision and quickly achieve a coherent set of pictures. IMAGE GALLERIES You can now choose from new styles for buttons and new sets for graphic indicators when defining the galleries with picture scrolling. Use the indicators so that your visitors can easily see how many pictures there are in the gallery and which one is currently on display. IMAGE GALLERIES When displaying thumbnail galleries, you can now choose from new styles, change the thumbnails' outer margins and display their captions in a tooltip. OPTIMIZING PICTURES Specify the Title, Alternative text (ALT Text) and size for pictures inside texts, just as you do for images that you add using the Image object. 2

3 FORMS FORM FIELDS We have added a new Description field to the form: use it if you want to add an introductory/exlanatory text to create a more complete form. PROPERTY SEPARATOR The separator is a useful graphic element that creates a visual division between the various elements of an form: make the most of the available graphic properties to make your forms even more effective. BLOGS, GUESTBOOKS AND RSS FEEDS Scheduling Posts You can now specify a publication date to indicate when an article on your blog or RSS feed is to be published online. This means you can write articles in advance and schedule when each one is to be published: each article can have its own publishing date. Comments Management As well as the online control panel provided by WebSite X5, you can also use the comments management system provided by Facebook or Disqus. Comment integration with your website is immediate, and you can make the most of the power of the social networks. Comment ordering and numbering Decide how you want visitors' comments to be displayed: you can decide whether they are to be displayed on each page and whether they must be listed in chronological order, or not. Members' area Your blog can be included in a members' area, just like any other website page. Use this feature if you want to create a private discussion group: you can set up registration and specify that people need a login and password to access your blog. Effects Now, you can apply a transition effect to the pictures and videos in your blog posts: the result will be more attractive. PRODUCT CATALOG AND E-COMMERCE SHOPPING CART Members' area If you want, you can create a members' area where customers must be registered in order to access it. All you have to do is add the e-commerce shopping cart to a Members' area, so that visitors must give their login name and password to gain access. Discount coupon validity It's a fact that a limited offer has more success: set validity dates for the discount coupons on products in your store, specifying the opening and closing dates. Order costs Give your customers a choice of alternative payment methods: you can add an additional cost (fixed or a percentage) to each one. Purchases from a Product card The Buy now button can be set up so that the chosen product is added directly to the order, without passing through the shopping cart. MANUAL CODE MANAGEMENT The HTML Editor With the new editor for the HTML Object and in other places where custom code can be added, you can take advantage of the automatic numbering of code lines, syntax highlighting and automatic completion of HTML tags and CSS properties. You'll find that entering code is now much more simple and quicker. Widget evolution The most important widgets have been moved from the HTML Code object to the new Optional objects. This gives you more room for customization. The new "Statistics, SEO and Code" window All the functions for a manual management of the page code have been grouped together in a new window in Step 4. This change will make it much easier for you to find the features and understand what to do with them. SEO OPTIMIZATION The new "Statistics, SEO and Code" window This new window in Step 4 proposes all the features for using the search engine optimization tools for page code optimization (SEO). Make the most of these tools to get your pages a high ranking with the search engines. Universal Analytics We have introduced support for activating Universal Analytics, the new standard developed by Google for its method of analysing website hits. Use it to get to know your visitors. Header tags To obtain a more complete optimization, include the H1 and H2 heading tags in your website pages. Search engines such as Google take these tags into consideration.
