It provides an overview of Eaton SecureConnect, explains how to set up the system and describes how to manage panels (control units) using the Eaton SecureConnect web portal. About SecureConnect SecureConnect is a web-based software system that allows effective management, monitoring and control of panels over the internet. SecureConnect includes a web portal and a mobile app, as described in the following sections. About the web portal The SecureConnect web portal allows installers to manage multiple i-on panels centrally and simultaneously from a web browser (Figure 1). For each panel, an installer can use the web portal to view: View notifications, such as alarms and set/unset actions. View log events. View and change panel configuration settings, if permitted at the panel. This uses the panel s web interface. This guide does not describe how to use the SecureConnect mobile app for users. This information is available in the SecureConnect App User Guide.

Panels in the SecureConnect web portal About the SecureConnect app The SecureConnect app (Figure 2) allows users to carry out the following from their Android or Apple ios phone or tablet: View the status of their panel. Receive notifications of alarms or set/ unset actions (even when the app is not open). View camera images generated by an alarm or other event. Set and unset the panel. Switch outputs on or off. System requirements i-on30r, i-on40h, i-on Style or later panels with internet access running firmware version or later. For app usage: Andriod version 4.1 or later, or ios version 6.0 or later. Browser: For best results, Chrome, Safari or Firefox. How to set up SecureConnect Step 1: Register as an installer You must register as a SecureConnect installer first. 1. In a browser, enter: 2. Follow the registration prompts. Note: The address must be different from the one used for app user registration. Page 2

3 4. Sign in using the address and password you specified during registration. The SecureConnect Panels window is displayed. 5. Make a note of your Cloud ID, which is displayed near the bottom-left corner of the window and ed to you. Step 2: Connect the panel to the internet Connect the panel to a network that has internet access. You can connect an Ethernet cable directly to the panel s network port. Alternatively, for WiFi access, fit an i-wifi01 module, as described in the i-wifi01 Installation Instructions. Step 3: Configure the IP settings Configure the panel s IP settings: 1. Discuss with the owner of the network whether to assign a fixed IP address to the panel, or to allow it to obtain an IP address from a DHCP server. 2. Display the Installer menu. 3. Select Communications, IP Network (Own), IP Address and either: delete the IP address if you want to use a DHCP server, or enter a fixed IP address. 4. If you use a fixed IP address, also specify the IP Subnet Mask, Gateway IP Address and DNS IP Address in the IP Network (Own) menu. 5. Exit the Installer menu to action the change. 6. Display the Installer menu. 7. If applicable, use About, Comms, Panel Ethernet, IP Address to check that the DHCP server has assigned an IP address. You should see DHCP after the IP address. If you do not see this, exit the Installer menu and try again. Step 4: Enable cloud access 1. Enter the Installer menu. 2. Select Communications, IP Network (Own), Cloud Access. 3. Press to set Enabled to Yes: CLOUD ACCESS Enabled Yes> 4. Enter the Cloud ID (as noted previously from the SecureConnect window): CLOUD ID 5. Enter the a name that identifies the location or name of the site: SITE ID 6. Wait for confirmation: Tick to continue Cloud Connected Step 5: Enable installer web access Follow this step if you want the panel to be configurable from SecureConnect. 1. In the Installer menu, select Communications, IP Network (Own), Web Server, Status. 2. Press n to select Enabled: STATUS *Enabled 3. Exit the Installer menu. Page 3

4 In the User menu: 1. Enter the User menu as the master user (default code 1234). 2. Select System Config, Facilities On/Off, Remote Access. 3. Press to select On: FACILITIES ON/OFF Remote Access 4. Exit the User menu. On Using the SecureConnect web portal Signing in 1. In a browser, enter: 2. Enter the address and password you specified during registration, then click Sign in. The Panels window is displayed (Figure 4). Using the Panels window Please refer to Figure 4 for details of how to use the Panels window. Table 1 explains the meaning of the status icons displayed on the left side of the window. Table 1. Panel status icons Icon Meaning Green: Panel is connected to SecureConnect. Red: Panel is not connected. Not currently used. Green: Users are allowed to access the panel using the SecureConnect mobile app (see Setting access privileges ). Red: Users are not allowed to access the panel. Page 4

5 The window displays each panel that has your Cloud ID (as displayed near the bottom-left corner of the window). Click to manage the panel (see Managing a panel ). These details can be edited by clicking, followed by. You can filter the list of panels The icons show the current status of the panel (see Table 1) This is the Site ID, as defined at the panel (see Step 4: Enable cloud access ) Click to view or specify information about the panel Click to set access to the panel (see Setting access privileges ) Click to remove the panel from the web portal Figure 4. The Panels window Using estates Setting access privileges You can move panels into Estates, which can help you to organise the panels you are managing. For example, an estate may contain all panels located in the same geographical area. To create an estate: 1. Click the Add estate button near the bottom of the window. 2. Enter details about the estate. The estate is displayed in the Panels window (Figure 5). 3. Use the button (Figure 5) to add panels to the estate. Note: An estate can include further estates (sub-estates). Click to display the panels and/or sub-estates in the estate To enable or disable use of the SecureConnect app: 1. Click the button (Figure 4) or Switch access button (Figure 6). 2. The following options are displayed: ARC Access Not currently used. User Access Disable to prevent users from being able to use the SecureConnect app. Enable the option to allow users to use the app normally. The status of these settings is displayed in the Panels window (Figure 4). Click to remove the estate (any panels it contains are moved automatically to the next level up) Click to specify information about the estate Click to add panels to the estate Click to add a sub-estate Figure 5. 6 Managing a panel You can manage a specific panel by clicking the panel s site ID in the Panels window. Figure 6 shows an example of the information displayed. Four tabs are available: NOTIFICATIONS: Displays events such as alarms, faults and set/unset actions (also sent to the app). PANEL LOG: Displays the panel s log messages. Please refer the panel s Engineering Guide for the meaning of each message. CONNECT: Allows you to configure the panel though its web interface. Once logged in, you can access options equivalent to those available through the panel s Installer menu. Please refer to the Web Browser Interface Setup Guide for details about the options available. SITE DETAILS: Shows key information about the panel, as set up using the button.
