1 Omniverse Setup Instructions Hello Omni customer, Please follow the steps outlined below to get your Omni ready for Omniverse! Let us know if you have questions or issues at 1. Install your HTC Vive Base Stations and run SteamVR room setup If you have not yet installed your Vive Base Stations and configured SteamVR room setup, do this now by completing the steps in our video guide and follow our tips on how best to position your base stations: 2. Install Omniverse and Omni Connect 1. Visit and enter your account and password provided to you by your Virtuix representative. 2. Download the Omniverse installer package via the link on your Omniverse home page. The Omniverse installer package also includes Omni Connect, which is the Omni s utility application required to operate the Omni system and Tracking Pods. 1

2 3. After the download is complete, double-click on the Omniverse installation program and follow the instructions in the prompts to install Omniverse and Omni Connect on your computer. 3. Configure your Omniverse account To use your Omni with Omniverse, you must register its serial number to your account. The Omni serial number can be found in Omni Connect, which will automatically open during installation of Omniverse. 1. Click on the Omni Connect icon in the taskbar, and navigate to the Advanced Tab, then double-click on the serial number to copy your Omni s serial number to your clipboard. 2. Return to and on the left side of the screen, click My Omni. 2

3 3. On the right side of the screen, click the Add Omni button. 4. Paste the Omni s serial number and select a Device Order No. and then click Add. Note, the requested Device Order No. is the unique device number (1,2,3, ) that you want to assign to each of the Omnis in your shop. 5. If the Omni is added successfully, Omniverse will display the following prompt: 6. Repeat these steps to add all the Omnis in your shop. 4. Calibrate the Omni and install the Omniverse games 1. Once you have completed installation, Omniverse will start and the 2D menu will be displayed. On the initial run, Omniverse will prompt you to perform a calibration of the Omni. When prompted, click Calibrate to start the calibration process. The system will guide you through the calibration process. 3

4 2. From the 2D menu shown below you can install games in Omniverse. In the game list, games that are downloaded are noted with a green check mark on the game icon. Games that are not yet downloaded are noted with a purple download symbol on the game icon. Note: All games should be downloaded before launching any game or tutorial, because all downloads are paused during gameplay. To download and install a game, click on the game icon in the game list. The game details screen will be displayed. Click on the download icon in the top right of the screen. The download will start and the current percentage of the download will be displayed. 4

5 5. Configure Omni Connect and SteamVR for an optimal Omniverse experience While the games are downloading, perform the following steps for an optimal Omniverse experience: 1. If you are operating more than one Omni at a location, each Omni must be set to a unique radio channel number to avoid interference between them. Go to the Advanced Window of Omni Connect and click on the Change Omni Radio Channel button. You have a choice of 13 channels on which the Pods and Omni can communicate. Choose a unique channel number and select Set. Repeat this process with any other Omni at your venue, selecting a different channel for each Omni. 5

6 2. Connect the Pods intended for use with each Omni to the assigned Omni s PC via the USB cables. This is necessary to sync the Pods radio channel setting with that of their assigned Omni, so that the Pods can communicate with this Omni. You may find it helpful to physically label the Omnis and their Pods with their channel number or keep them separate so that you know which Omni they are assigned to. 3. Ensure that SteamVR Home and VR Dashboard are disabled to avoid undesired disruption during gameplay i. Go to SteamVR -> Settings -> General and uncheck SteamVR Home Beta : ii. Go to SteamVR -> Settings -> Developer and uncheck Enable VR Dashboard : 6

7 4. To make game audio play through both the Vive s headphones and your computer speakers: i. Right-click the speaker icon in your system tray and select Playback devices. ii. Set the HTC Vive to be the default playback device (SteamVR must be running). Important Note: Do not disable your speakers in this window iii. Click on the SteamVR drop-down menu icon and select settings. 7

8 iv. Select Audio, and then set every option to Do not change device, except for Mirror audio to device. Set that option to the speaker system through which you would like the game audio to play. 8

9 6. Check your Desktop resolution and pin applications to your taskbar 1. To avoid issues with your screen resolution, set your screen resolution to 100%. Right-click on your desktop, and go to Display Settings, then set your size to 100%. 2. Finally, for ease of accessing Omni Connect, SteamVR, and Omniverse, right-click on each application s icon in the taskbar and select Pin to taskbar. This is useful if you later choose to hide desktop icons for a cleaner looking interface. WE HOPE YOU ENJOY OMNIVERSE! THANK YOU! 9
