3 Q1. I cannot get TV screen, how to solve it? A: 1. Please check the hardware connection first. The signal of TV cable whether is normal and have be connected to USB TV stick strongly. 2. Please download the diagnostic tool to check the problem. ftp://ftp1.kworld.com.tw/kworld/tool/amcap.zip After downloading and extracting, please run the amcap.exe. Click option and select TV tuner you can find the status is unlocked as the pic below. It means the USB TV stick is malfunction. Step1.Please re-plugs the USB TV stick into the same USB slot again. After restarting the system and running the amcap, the status will become locked. Step2.If the step1 is invalid; please unplug the USB TV stick. Please try to move the driver and reboot PC, then change to another USB slot to reinstall the driver again. 3

4 Q2. How to check the driver version? A:Please find Computer and right click to choose Manage in the start menu. In the left pane you will find Device Manager, please expand the Sound, video and game controllers, you will get USB PVR-TV Device. Please right click the device and choose properties. In the driver page, the V is the driver version. 4

5 Q3. I get black and white TV screen, how to solve it? A:In HyperMedia Center, Please select TV Settings TV settings Run setup wizard to scan the channel. 5

6 Q4. How to make sure the driver is installed correctly? A:Based on Q2 you can find the USB PVR-TV Device in Device Manager. It should be the same as the pic below without any? or! sign. Q5. I get a lot of fuzzy screen, how to solve it? A:Please confirm the TV signal is connected with a splitter or not. Usually tightening the connector to the TV tuner card and to the splitter would solve the problem. BTW, there are two type of the coaxial cable, one is 50Ω the other is 75Ω, please make sure the cable is 75Ω. Q6. May I use the Vista Media Center to watch analog TV? (Only support PVR-TV 305UDE the PVR-TV 303U model) The Remote supports?(only support PVR-TV 303U) A:Media Center function is only supported under Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. Please confirm your Vista version first. And don t forget to install the MCE Encoder from CD. After installing, please restart your system manually. Adjusting the remote settings will enable the remote to support Media Center. If your setting is HyperMedia Center only, please download the latest remote utility to update. 6

7 Q7. Remote cannot work, how to solve it?(only support PVR-TV 303U) A: Please check the remote icon in the task bar, and right click the icon to know the status. like the picture below. If the status is not the same as the picture above, please choose Exit to close the remote icon, and restart the remote control utility. From "Start Menu=>Programs=>KWorld Multimedia=>EM_USB Device Utilities=>Remote Control" Please check the remote icon in the task bar, and right click the icon to know the status, again. If the USB TV stick is installeded by Windows Hardware Add Wizard to point driver folder, the remote utility will not be installed. Please find your original driver CD to launch auto installation wizard, and click Quick Installation to reinstall again. After restarting the computer, you will find the remote utility icon in the task bar. 7

8 Q8. How to record files with MPEG4 format? A:Before you begin, please download Mpeg4 codec from internet. Step1. Two MPEG4 format is supported, Microsoft and DIVX. DIVX: Microsoft: Please use DIVX v5.xx, not Divx v6.xx Step2. Install the MPEG4 codec. Step3. In Hypermedia Center, please select TV Setting Recording setting to select the MPEG4 format you want to use. Step4. Click return to complete the MPEG4 settings. Now you can record files with MPEG4 format. 8

9 Q9. May I carry the TV USB stick to go abroad and use? A:For analog TV, the tuner card supports worldwide analog TV system. If you carry the tuner card to different country, you can watch the local analog TV. Q10. I cannot use the close caption function and teletext, how to solve it? A:The tuner card doesn t support close caption function, you won t get the close caption. Teletext is only available in PAL based TV system, if you use the card in European country, you can use the teletext function. Q11. How to use the diagnostic tool to check analog TV? A: 1. Please check the signal cable is OK. 2. We offer a diagnostic tool, please click the links to download or use the attached file. AMCAP: ftp://ftp1.kworld.com.tw/kworld/tool/amcap.zip How to use amcap? When you launch amcap, please close other application, including Hypermedia. After downloading, please extract the file and click amcap to open it. You will see" File, Device, Options, Capture, Help" after open. Please select Device, If the USB TV stick driver is installed successfully, you will see video and audio devices, please select your own capture device. 9

10 And then please choose options preview And then please choose options TV Tuner Please press "AutoTune" to scan the channels, and the status will become locked. after that, we can press the channel number ex:"8" then press "Enter" in the "TV Tuner" If the driver is installed correctly, we can switch the video input to Video Composite and SVideo. It is a useful part to check A/V analog input works or not. 10

11 If the TV screen doesn't appear in AMCAP, please uninstall the driver, reboot system, and reinstall the driver again. If the TV screen appears in AMCAP, please uninstall the TV applications, reboot system, and reinstall the applications again. I cannot get a recorded file over 4GB, why? A:If the file system of the HDD partition that recorded files used to store is FAT32, one single file cannot be over 4GB. If we use the default value 640x480 Mpeg2, after 2 hrs recording, the file will be over 4GB. Please change the storage location to the HDD partition with NTFS file system. Q14. What is the Invalid Class Strings?How to solve it? A:There are a lot of third parties release Codec packs such as K-Lite Codec Pack ACE Mega Codec Pack Professional Nimo Codec Pack 5.0 Build 8, and so on. These packs contain a lot of direct show filter and come from different source. Some of them will cause conflict and make the application error. Then the Invalid Class String will show. We take K-Lite Codec Pack for example and marks the conflict component, please don t install them. 12

13 My TV screen is full of green blocks and distorted image, why? A:The video hardware acceleration will cause the problem. Some VGA cards don t support the VMR feature in DirectX 9.0C. Therefore, it will output abnormal screen when you watch TV on computer. Please disable the VMR function in the application to check the screen is OK or not. Like the pic below. And please try to update VGA driver to improve the ability of video acceleration. 13

14 16: I've completed the installation, and when the scan is complete the program finds only 12 channels. I have coax cable TV, and I get 100 channels on my other TV. Why can't your program display more than 12 channels? A: Please check the "Source input" option of HyperMediaCenter whether be select the "Antenna" option? If yes, please select the "Cable" option instead it and execute the channel scanned process again to fix this problem. 17: Execute the HyperCenterMedia to receive the Error message Cannot set capture device (1000)? A: 1. Please check the USB2.0 TV stick whether be installed (inserted) strongly in USB jack when you start to install driver. You must insert the same USB jack in every time of using. 2. Please check the driver of your Graphic card sound card and USB2.0 TV stick whether had been installed successfully in Device Manager. 3. If the above two item is affirmative, please try to reinstall the application (HyperMediaCenter) again. (Please make sure the previous HyperMediaCenter had be uninstall completely, and restart system before reinstall (HyperMediaCenter) Please click the link to download and reinstall its to fix it.
