3 Q1. I cannot get TV screen, how to solve it? A:The TV tuner card contains a lot of functions. Perhaps we swing the card when connecting the cable. Please download the diagnostic tool to check the problem. ftp://ftp.kworld.com.tw/kworld/tool/amcap/amcap.zip After downloading and extracting, please run the amcap.exe. Click option and select TV tuner you can find the status is unlocked as the pic below. It means the TV tuner card is malfunction. Step1.Please turn off the computer and unplug the TV tuner card from the PCMCIA slot, and re-plug into the same PCMCIA slot. After restarting the system and running the amcap, the status will become locked. Step2.If the step1 is invalid, please unplug the TV tuner card. We can find a eraser to clean the PCMCIA pin of the card and use a small brush to clean the PCMCIA slot. 3

4 Q2. How to check the driver version? A:Please find My Computer and right click to choose Manage In the left pane you will find Device Manager, please expand the Sound, video and game controllers, you will get Philips SAA713X, Hybrid Capture Device. Please right click the device and choose properties. In the driver page, the v is the driver version. 4

5 Q3. I get black and white TV screen, how to solve it? A: 1. Right click on the TV screen and select Reset TV Frequency Table 2. Select your country or TV system, and press next. 3. You can select Line In or Rear Blue In for Video live sound and Recording Sound The TV tuner card use direct sound to transmit sound, these setting would not affect audio capture. 4. Press start to scan, and press finish to complete. 5

6 Q4. How to make sure the driver is installed correctly? A:Based on Q2 you can find the Philips SAA713X Hybrid Capture Device in Device Manager. It should be the same as the pic below without any? or! Q5. I get a lot of fuzzy screen, how to solve it? A:Please confirm the TV signal is connected with a splitter or not. Usually tightening the connector to the TV tuner card and to the splitter would solve the problem. BTW, there are two type of the coaxial cable, one is 50Ω the other is 75Ω, please make sure the cable is 75Ω. Q6. I can use channel number to change channel, but up arrow and down arrow can t. A:Please right click the setting on the TV screen, in the TV Tuner tab, please click the Auto Scan, like the pic below. 6

7 Q7. How to record files with MPEG4 format? A:Before you begin, please download Divx codec from internet. Step1. DIVX: Please use Divx v5.xx, not Divx v6.xx Step2. Install the Divx codec. Step3. Click the settings ( format. ) and click capture tab, please select Divx in the capture Step4. Click OK to complete the Divx settings. Now you can record files with Divx format. Q8. May I carry the TV tuner card to go abroad and use? A:The tuner card supports worldwide analog TV system. If you carry the tuner card to different country, you can watch the local analog TV. 7

8 Q9. I cannot use the close caption function and teletext, how to solve it? A:If the signal contains close caption,you can use the close caption function. Teletext is only available in PAL based TV system, if you use the card in European country, you can use the teletext function. Q10. How to use the diagnostic tool to check analog TV? A: 1.Please check the signal cable is OK. 2.We offer a diagnostic tool, please click the links to download or use the attached file. AMCAP: ftp://ftp.kworld.com.tw/kworld/tool/amcap/amcap.zip How to use amcap? When you launch amcap, please close other application, including Hypermedia. After downloading, please extract the file and click amcap to open it. You will see" File, Device, Options, Capture, Help" after open. Please select Device, If the TV tuner card driver is installed successfully, you will see video and audio devices, please select your own capture device. 8

9 And then please choose options preview And then please choose options TV Tuner Please press "AutoTune" to scan the channels, and the status will become locked. after that, we can press the channel number ex:"8" then press "Enter" in the "TV Tuner" If the driver is installed correctly, we can switch the video input to Video Composite and SVideo. It is a useful part to check A/V analog input works or not. 9

10 If the TV screen doesn't appear in AMCAP, please uninstall the driver, reboot system, and reinstall the driver again. If the TV screen appears in AMCAP, please uninstall the TV applications, reboot system, and reinstall the applications again. And... Please download the getsysinfo tool. ftp://ftp.kworld.com.tw/kworld/tool/getsysinfo/getsysinfo_ _v2.3.zip Please extract and run to get a "systeminfo.ini" in your root c:\ After that, please send the systeminfo.ini back to my mailbox support@kworld.com.tw We can find the problem in your systeminfo.ini and find some ways to fix it. 10

I cannot get a recorded file over 4GB, why? A:If the file system of the HDD partition that recorded files used to store is FAT32, one single file cannot be over 4GB. If we use the default value 640x480 Mpeg2, after 2 hrs recording, the file will be over 4GB. Please change the storage location to the HDD partition with NTFS file system. Q13. What is the Invalid Class Strings?How to solve it? A:There are a lot of third parties release Codec packs such as K-Lite Codec Pack ACE Mega Codec Pack Professional Nimo Codec Pack 5.0 Build 8, and so on. These packs contain a lot of direct show filter and come from different source. Some of them will cause conflict and make the application error. Then the Invalid Class String will show. We take K-Lite Codec Pack for example and marks the conflict component, please don t install them. 11

12 Q14. I want to use the TV tuner card in Vista, is it possible? A:No problem!! Please connect to We have released new driver, application for Vista. Please download the Vista-related resource to make the product work in Vista. Q15. Would you please tell me the what is the Vista-related resource? A: Driver:BDA_V Hypermedia Manual:Manual Application:Hypermedia Q16. In Vista how to install the Vista-related resource? A: Please download:bda_v , Hypermedia, and extract them to a folder first. After that please login the Vista with administrative account. System will popup a window New Hardware found. Please click ask me later and use driver installation wizard to install. Here are the driver and Hypermedia. I put them on the desktop. 12

13 First we install the driver, please click drv_v _ and double click the setup.exe. Press start to install, and press OK to complete installation. Now double click setup.exe. Please select the language and press OK to install Hypermedia. Please click Next to continue. 13
