Installing USB TV Tuner on Windows 10 PC

1 WARNING DO NOT PLUG IN THE USB TUNER UNTIL LATER IN THE PROCESS OR INSTALL WILL FAIL Do Not use the Mini CD supplied with the Tuner. 1. Download the Drivers from this link LINK to download drivers 2. Install Device Drivers onto your PC by running the 'InstallDriver' program as pictured below.

2 3. Wait until install has completed - this can take a minute or so depending on the speed of your system. Wait until it's fully completed or the install will fail. 4. Now Plug in the USB Tuner and allow Windows some time to discover the device and install the drivers needed.

3 5. Download the codec pack from the following link The codec pack contains the decoders necessary to play Australian Free to Air TV stations on your PC. WIndows 10 does not come with these codecs - so they are necessary to install. DOWNLOAD CODECS USING THIS LINK Then install the codecs by running the program highlighted below from your downloads folder.

4 6. Download NEXTPVR software (read more about NEXTPVR at DOWNLOAD NEXTPVR USING THIS LINK Then install NextPVR application (NPVRSetup_3_4_8)

5 7. Run the NextPVR application from the Windows start bar & make sure that your USB Tuner is connected. Once the application has started right click over the window to get the settings menu to show as below. 8. Check the settings on each of the options to ensure that they match to the series of screen shots shown following.

6 Make sure that the DVB-T Type is first in the list above - use the Priority Up & Down Buttons to toggle the list until it shows on top. Select Device Setup button from the Devices Screen. Check the settings match and changed if necessary to those shown in the picture left of this text. Select the Region applicable to your situation. If you get no channels found or your region is not displayed you can select the option 'all regions'. Then select the scan button to scan for channels in your area. Wait for the scan to complete. It may take a few minutes depending on your region selection and PC speed. If you find that you get zero channels found - it might be that your signal strength is too weak to pick up a signal using the indoor antenna. Try connecting to an outdoor antenna using the connector supplied in the pack.

7 Specify a directory for Recordings to be saved in by either 'edit' or 'Add' a directory using buttons on the right of the window. If you don't create a directory the application will display an error and stop you from watching TV. Create it on a local drive where you have space. Create a folder by clicking the 'Add Button' to store your videos.

8 Try the selections above - they work on my windows 10 machine - if you get a black screen or no audio just try different combinations of the decoders until you have success. Check the Buffer Directory and browse to a location of your choice if necessary And that's all. Click OK and return to the NextPVR application.

9 Right click to get the menu displaying. Select Live TV from the menu. It may take up to 30 seconds for the picture to 'buffer' to your PC - so please be patient. The Red LED light will show on the TV Tuner when it's operating. Watch Live Free to air TV. Trouble Shooting If you scan and get no channels found : check that you have signal by connecting the TV Tuner to an outside antenna. Some locations have weak signal strength so you can not use an indoor antenna. If the TV Tuner does not show a RED LED on it when you go to scan; The drivers might not have been installed correctly - repeat driver install. I've installed BlazeVideo off the mini CD supplied and cant get it to display full screen; Windows 10 does not support full screen display of this type of video at this stage. For this reason you must use NextPVR and the codecs specified in this help guide.
