2 Q1. I cannot get TV screen, how to solve it? A:The TV tuner card contains a lot of functions. Perhaps we swing the card when connecting the cable. Please download the diagnostic tool to check the problem. ftp://ftp.kworld.com.tw/kworld/tool/amcap/amcap.zip After downloading and extracting, please run the amcap.exe. Click option and select TV tuner you can find the status is unlocked as the picture below. It means the TV tuner card is malfunction. Step1.Please turn off the computer and unplug the TV tuner card from the PCI slot, and re-plug into the same PCI slot. After restarting the system and running the amcap, the status will become locked. Step2.If the step1 is invalid, please unplug the TV tuner card. We can find a eraser to clean the PCI pin of the card and use a small brush to clean the PCI slot. After that please change to another PCI slot to install the card again. 2

3 Q2. How to check the driver version? A:Please find Computer and right click to choose Manage in the start menu. In the left pane you will find Device Manager, please expand the Sound, video and game controllers, you will get Philips SAA713X, Hybrid Capture Device. Please right click the device and choose properties. In the driver page, the v is the driver version. 3

5 Q4. How to make sure the driver is installed correctly? A:Please find Computer and right click to choose Manage in the start menu. In the left pane you will find Device Manager, please expand the Sound, video and game controllers, you can find Philips SAA713X, Hybrid Capture Device. It should be the same as the picture below without any? or! Q5. I get a lot of fuzzy screen, how to solve it? A:Please confirm the TV signal is connected with a splitter or not. Usually tightening the connector to the TV tuner card and to the splitter would solve the problem. BTW, there are two type of the coaxial cable, one is 50Ω the other is 75Ω, please make sure the cable is 75Ω. Q6. May I use the Vista Media Center to watch analog TV?The Remote supports? A:Media Center function is only supported under Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. Please confirm your Vista version first. And don t forget to install the MCE Encoder from CD. After installing, please restart your system manually. Adjusting the remote settings will enable the remote to support Media Center. If your setting is HyperMedia Center only, please download the latest remote utility from our website. 5

If the status is not the same as the picture above, please choose Exit to close the remote icon, and restart the remote control utility. From "Start Menu=>Programs=>KWorld Multimedia=>PVR-TV 713X Utilities(or PVR-TV 7131 Utilities or TV Tuner Card Utilities)=>Remote Control" Please check the remote icon in the task bar, and right click the icon to know the status, again. If the tuner card is installed by Windows Hardware Add Wizard to point driver folder, the remote utility will not be installed. Please find your original driver CD to launch auto installation wizard, and click Quick Installation to reinstall again. After restarting the computer, you will find the remote utility icon in the task bar. 6

7 Q8. How to record files with MPEG4 format? A: Before you begin, please download Divx codec from internet. Step1. HyperMedia Center only supports MPEG4(Divx) format. DIVX: Please use Divx v5.05 or Divx v Step2. Install the Divx codec. Step3. In Hypermedia Center, please select TV Setting Recording setting to select the MPEG4(Divx) format you want to use. Step4. Click return to complete the MPEG4 settings. Now you can record files with MPEG4(Divx) format. Q9. May I carry the TV tuner card to go abroad and use? A:It depends on the card you use. If you use PVR-TV 7134SE,the tuner card doesn t support worldwide analog TV system;if you use PVR-TV 7131SE or PVR-TV 7135,the tuner card supports worldwide analog TV system. If you carry the tuner card to different country, you can watch the local analog TV. 7

8 Q10. I cannot use the close caption function and teletext, how to solve it? A:If the signal contains close caption,you can use the close caption function. Teletext is only available in PAL based TV system, if you use the card in European country, you can use the teletext function. Q11. How to use the diagnostic tool to check analog TV? A: 1.Please check the signal cable is OK. 2.We offer a diagnostic tool, please click the links to download or use the attached file. AMCAP: ftp://ftp.kworld.com.tw/kworld/tool/amcap/amcap.zip How to use amcap? When you launch amcap, please close other application, including Hypermedia. After downloading, please extract the file and click amcap to open it. You will see" File, Device, Options, Capture, Help" after open. Please select Device, If the TV tuner card driver is installed successfully, you will see video and audio devices, please select your own capture device. 8

9 And then please choose options preview And then please choose options TV Tuner Please press "AutoTune" to scan the channels, and the status will become locked. after that, we can press the channel number ex:"8" then press "Enter" in the "TV Tuner" If the driver is installed correctly, we can switch the video input to Video Composite and SVideo. It is a useful part to check A/V analog input works or not. 9

10 If the TV screen doesn't appear in AMCAP, please uninstall the driver, reboot system, and reinstall the driver again. If the TV screen appears in AMCAP, please uninstall the TV applications, reboot system, and reinstall the applications again. And... I cannot get a recorded file over 4GB, why? A:If the file system of the HDD partition that recorded files used to store is FAT32, one single file cannot be over 4GB. If we use the default value 640x480 Mpeg2, after 2 hrs recording, the file will be over 4GB. Please change the storage location to the HDD partition with NTFS file system. Q14. What is the Invalid Class Strings?How to solve it? A:There are a lot of third parties release Codec packs such as K-Lite Codec Pack ACE Mega Codec Pack Professional Nimo Codec Pack 5.0 Build 8, and so on. These packs contain a lot of direct show filter and come from different source. Some of them will cause conflict and make the application error. Then the Invalid Class String will show. We take K-Lite Codec Pack for example and marks the conflict component, please don t install them. 11

12 Q15. My TV screen is full of green blocks and distorted image, why? A:The video hardware acceleration will cause the problem. Some VGA cards don t support the VMR feature in DirectX 9.0C. Therefore, it will output abnormal screen when you watch TV on computer. Please disable the VMR function in the application to check the screen is OK or not. Like the picture below. And please try to update VGA driver to improve the ability of video acceleration. 12
