2 OHD QUANTIFIT Backup Instructions OHD recommends that FitTrack data is backed up at least once a week. Preferably, the database will be backed up after every testing period. Data loss can occur through hard drive failure, or data corruption. The most probably cause for data corruption is loss of power to a computer. This may happen through battery failure, removal of power cord, or loss of power in a building. Keeping your data safe should be a priority for any user. Backing up the data to the same computer being used for testing is only the first step in securing data. Backups on the same computer, called Local Backups, are helpful if any data corruption should occur. However, these would not be very useful if a hard drive crash is experienced. Therefore, it s critical that the backup files be periodically moved to a source outside of the computer, either to a memory stick, CD, or to a network drive that is regularly backed up. Follow these simple steps for a proper backup. 1. Go to System > Database Utilities > Backup. 2. Browse to a location where the backup should be saved. 3. Copy the file to an external drive or source.

3 OHD FitTrack Troubleshooting FitTrack 3.0 & 5.0 Error Message: Unable to find the correct version of the FitTrack database There are a few reasons why this error could take place. The most common reason is that the computer was shut down too quickly after exiting FitTrack. When FitTrack is shut down, it does a maintenance procedure in the background. If you turn your computer off immediately after shutting down FitTrack especially if you have a large database your data may be left in a temporary state. The following are steps to take to resolve this problem. DO NOT reinstall the software as the error message might suggest, because this may cause you to lose your data. 1. Go to this path through these folders: My Computer > Local Disc (C:) > Program Files > OHD > 3.01 or 5.01 (depending on version). (Note: If you can t see program files, you ll have to select Show the Contents of this folder ) 2. If your extensions are not showing (the dot + three digits), you ll have to reveal extensions. If extensions are showing, skip to #3. In the menu line of the folder you have open, go to Tools > Folder Options > Click on the View button. See image to right. You ll need to un-check the box that says, Hide extensions for known file types. Click Apply then OK. 3. In the FitTrack folder you have open, look for the file Temp.mdb. If you cannot find this file, then this repair will not work. This means that your database has somehow become corrupted, and you should restore your most recent backup. (See manual for simple instructions.) 4. Find the file FitTrack.mdb. Right-click on this file and select Rename. Rename the file by placing a 2 after FitTrack, so the file now reads FitTrack2.mdb. 5. Find the file Temp.mdb. Right-click on this file and select Rename. Rename the file FitTrack.mdb. 6. Open FitTrack and all should be well.

This is especially critical when someone may have spent a day testing, and when the software is closed and reopened, no data has been saved. Solution: The folder where FitTrack resides must be set to be shared with all users. This occurs only on some systems, but it would be better to follow these steps as a precaution. 1. On your computer, go to C:/ Program Files and look for the OHD folder. (In some versions of Windows 7, you will find OHD in Program Files (x86). ) 4. Check the box next to Share This Folder, and then choose Permissions 2. Right-click on the OHD folder, and select Properties. 3. Select the Sharing tab, and select Advanced Sharing With Everyone selected, check the boxes allowing Full Control, then click Apply and OK.

5 Windows 7 Setup Steps for setting the graph to draw during tests on Windows 7 Problem: When using FitTrack software under the standard Windows 7 settings, the test graph may not draw or populate until the test step has been completed. Solution: Follow these instructions if you d like to correct this issue. If you cannot get to the screens as shown, you must ask your IT Administrator to give you the correct permissions, or for them to make this change. 1. Go to the FitTrack icon in Program Files: C:/ Program Files/OHD/501 (or 301) 2. Right-click the FitTrack program icon. 4. Select Disable desktop composition. 5. Click on Apply, then OK. 2. Select Properties. 3. Choose the Compatibility tab. 6. Open FitTrack and begin testing. Instructions for installing Quantifit Driver on Windows 7 1. Install FitTrack software by accepting all defaults on installation disc. 2. Connect the Quantifit 3. Go to Start button > Devices & Printers 4. At the bottom you ll see an unspecified device. Double-click this device 5. Click on Properties and then select the Update Driver button 6. Select Automatic. 7. This should automatically update the driver. 8. Open FitTrack to see if it finds the Quantifit.

6 Windows 7 Setup Steps for setting User Account Controls (UAC) on Windows 7 Problem: If this setting is not set correctly, FitTrack software may not save any data. This is especially critical when someone may have spent a day testing, and when the software is closed and reopened, no data has been saved. Solution: The User Account Control must be changed so that Windows 7 Security allows the Microsoft Access database to save data. This occurs only on some systems, but it would be better to follow these steps as a precaution. 1. Go to Control Panel 2. Change View to Large Icons 5. Move the slider control all the way to the bottom to select Never notify 3. Double-Click on User Accounts 4. Select Change User Account Control Settings 6. Close all windows, problem solved.

8 Windows Vista Setup Steps for setting User Account Controls (UAC) on Windows Vista If the User Account Control setting is not changed, FitTrack might lose all data once the program is closed. If this should happen, it s because of a personal security setting. FOR VISTA PROFESSIONAL: You can go to the Control Panel > User Accounts > Select Turn User Account Control On or Off, > Continue > Un- check User Account Control. and click OK. This frees up the security problem that keeps FitTrack from saving the data. FOR VISTA HOME: You can go to the Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety. Click on User Accounts. On the bottom of the next screen, on the very bottom you will see Turn User Account Control on or off. Click Continue and un-check Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer.

9 OHD Quantifit OSHA s CNP Redon Protocol On September 4, 2004, the REDON Protocol was written into the Federal Register, , Appendix A. This ruling may be found on OSHA s website, Search for Appendix A. With the OHD Quantifit Controlled Negative Pressure (CNP) technology, you ve always been able to check for mask leakage in as little as 8 seconds. Now, with the REDON protocol, you can perform an entire respirator fit test in as little as two to three minutes. While the protocol has been shortened to meet the strengths of CNP, studies show that the REDON protocol actually yields a more conservative result compared to that of the previous OSHA protocol. The test protocol requires three separate donnings (re-dons), which is one of the most critical steps in wearing a respirator. The multiple donnings can be very educational in implementing proper use and fit of a respirator. With proven scientific accuracy and a short test time, there are no down sides to the OHD Quantifit Controlled Negative Pressure technology. This win/win situation allows workers and employees to be more rigorously tested in a shorter amount of time!
