1 Introduction This app is used to configure the lock setting, lock and unlock the EXCERIA SDHC/SDXC memory card that is equipped with the Mamolica function (hereinafter, the card). Use a NFC-compatible device to configure the lock setting, lock and unlock the card. A NFC-compatible device refers to one of the following devices. iphone/ipad/ipod touch (hereinafter, ios device* 1 ) connected to a Bluetooth compatible NFC reader PaSoRi RC-S390 (RC-S390/S) manufactured by Sony Windows PC/tablet (hereinafter, Windows device* 1 ) connected to a USB compatible NFC reader PaSoRi RC-S380 (RC-S380/S) manufactured by Sony NFC-compatible Android device* 1 *1: The ios device /Windows device/android device needs to be installed with a compatible Mamolica app. When configuring the lock setting of a card for the first time, the ios device/windows device/android device used will be registered as the owner device in the card. Up to one owner device can be registered additionally (up to two devices in one card). Note that changes in the lock setting of the card and locking/unlocking of the card will be disabled when all the devices registered as the owner devices (ios device/windows device/android device) in the card are lost. The card can be locked in the following three ways. In the Advanced mode, you can either allow the card to be locked/unlocked by the owner devices only by enabling/disabling the sharing mode, or allow the card to be shared by multiple NFC-compatible devices. The card can be used in a total of five ways by combining the lock method and sharing mode. See the chapter on each lock method for details (you can move to the lock method you want by tapping on the name in the table).

3 0 The card connection procedure when using the ios device and PaSoRi is explained here. 1. Turn on PaSoRi that paired with the ios device and start this app on the ios device. 2. Place the card on the PaSoRi. * You may be asked to enter the system password. Enter the system password of the card to be connected. Ask the card administrator if you do not know the password. *The message Successfully connected will appear in the screen when the card is connected to the app. Perform the subsequent steps without moving the card. Introduction Simple mode Simple mode is a method to unlock a card using the ios device/windows device/android device registered as the owner device. A device set up in the simple mode for the first time against a card whose lock setting has not been configured will be registered as the owner device in the card. Up to one owner device can be registered additionally (up to two devices in one card). The operating procedure when using an ios and a PaSoRi is explained here. Simple mode Setup procedure (registration of owner device) 1. Connect the app to the card. 2. If no owner device is registered in the card, tap OK when a confirmation message appears.

4 With this, the lock setting in the simple mode will be completed. The ios device used will be registered as the owner device of this card. *In the initial state, the card will be automatically locked when the power supply of the device in which the card is inserted is turned off. However, if you open the settings menu from the settings button at the top right of the screen and enable the Manual lock mode, the card can be set not to lock automatically even if the power supply is turned off. Furthermore, in the advanced mode, you can also restrict unlocking using a password or time. See the chapter below for details. 5 Simple mode Lock procedure 1. Connect the app to the card using the ios device registered as the owner device. 2. Tap LOCK NOW. *If the manual lock mode has been disabled, the card will be automatically locked even if the power supply of the device in which the card is inserted is turned off. Introduction Advanced mode [Password] The advanced mode [Password] is a method to unlock a card using a NFC-compatible device and the

6 password set up by the user when the lock was set. If the sharing mode is disabled, the card cannot be unlocked unless the ios device/windows device/android device registered as the owner device is used. If the sharing mode is enabled, unlocking can be carried out with any device so long as it is a NFC-compatible device installed with the Mamolica app. The operating procedure when using an ios device and a PaSoRi is explained here. Advanced mode [Password] setting procedure 1. With the registration of the owner device completed, connect the app to the card using the ios device registered as the owner device. 2. Tap the lock method name at the top of the screen. If Enable sharing mode is ticked, unlocking can be carried out with any device so long as it is a NFC-compatible device installed with the Mamolica app. Do not tick Enable sharing mode if you want to allow unlocking to be carried out only when the ios device registered as the owner device is used. Tap Password on the list. 3. Set up the password when the password setting screen appears. Set the password using 4-16 characters. Characters that can be used in the password include half-width alphabetical characters (a-z, A-Z), half-width numbers (0-9) and some symbols (! " # $ % & ' ( ) * +, -. / : ; < = [ ] ^ _ ` { } ~). Note that alphabetical characters are case-sensitive. Tap OK after entering the password in the Password field and Confirm Password field. With this, the advanced mode [Password] setting will be completed.

Tap UNLOCK. 3. Enter the password and tap UNLOCK when the password input screen appears.

9 Advanced mode [Time] The advanced mode [Time] is a method to permit unlocking if the time is within the period set up by the user when the lock was set. To unlock, use a NFC-compatible device. If the sharing mode is disabled, the card cannot be unlocked unless the ios device/windows device/android device registered as the owner device is used. If the sharing mode is enabled, unlocking can be carried out with any device so long as it is a NFC-compatible device installed with the Mamolica app. The operating procedure when using an ios device and a PaSoRi is explained here. Advanced mode [Time] setting procedure 1. With the registration of the owner device completed, connect the app to the card using the ios device registered as the owner device. 2. Tap the lock method name at the top of the screen. If Enable sharing mode is ticked, unlocking can be carried out with any device so long as it is a NFC-compatible device installed with the Mamolica app. Do not tick Enable sharing mode if you want to allow unlocking to be carried out only when the ios device registered as the owner device is used. Tap Time on the list. 3. Set the period to permit unlocking when the unlock approval period setting screen appears. Tick the box Do not set the TO time if you are not going to set the end date and time of the period. Tap OK after setting the start date and time and end date and time (or ticking Do not set the TO time ). With this, the advanced mode [Time] setting is complete.

10 4. You can select whether to determine the unlock approval period by using the time information of the device, or by obtaining the local time information from the time server. In the initial state, this is set using the time information of the device. Open the settings menu from the settings button at the top right of the screen and enable Use time server after unlocking the card to get the local time information from the time server for determining the unlock approval period. Be careful when moving to a location where there is a time difference to use the card. In areas where the network connectivity is bad, it may not be possible to acquire the time information and enable this. Move to another location with better network connectivity and try again. *In the initial state, the card will be automatically locked when the power supply of the device in which the card is inserted is turned off. However, if you open the settings menu from the settings button at the top right of the screen and enable the Manual lock mode, the card can be set not to lock automatically even if the power supply is turned off.

11 Advanced mode [Time] unlock procedure 1. Connect the app to the card as follows: 1. when the sharing mode is set to invalid, use the ios device registered as the owner device, 2. when the sharing mode is set to valid, use the ios device installed with the Mamolica app. 2. Tap UNLOCK. The card will be unlocked if the time is within the unlock approval period. Advanced mode [Time] lock procedure 1. Connect the app to the card as follows: 1. when the sharing mode is set to invalid, use the ios device registered as the owner device, 2. when the sharing mode is set to valid, use the ios device installed with the Mamolica app. 2. Tap LOCK NOW.

12 *If the manual lock mode has been disabled, the card will be automatically locked even if the power supply of the device in which the card is inserted is turned off. Introduction Changing the lock setting Changing the lock method To return to the simple mode from the advanced mode, connect the app to the card using the ios device registered as the owner device and tap the lock method name at the top of the screen. Tap Simple mode on the list. When changing to the simple mode from a locked state in the advanced mode [Password], enter the correct password when the input screen appears. When changing to the simple mode from a locked state in the advanced mode [Time], tap OK when the confirmation screen appears. No change is allowed unless the time is within the unlock approval period. Note that locking/unlocking can be carried out by the owner device only when you return to the simple mode even if the sharing mode had been enabled for use in the advanced mode.

13 To change to another lock method in the advanced mode, connect the app to the card using the ios device registered as the owner device and tap the button of the lock method you wish to change. (You can also change from the list displayed by tapping the lock method name at the top of the screen.) When changing to the advanced mode [Time] from a locked state in the advanced mode [Password], enter the correct password when the input screen appears. When changing to the advanced mode [Password] from a locked state in the advanced mode [Time], no change is allowed unless the time is within the unlock approval period. As the settings in the sharing mode will be inherited, if changes are required, change the settings in the sharing mode from the settings menu after changing the lock method. Configure the settings with the lock method after making the changes by referring to the setting procedure of each mode starting from Step 3 onwards. Advanced mode [Password] Advanced mode [Time]

14 About the menu Tap the settings button at the top right of the screen to open the settings menu. The menu items displayed differ depending on the lock setting of the card and whether the device that you are using is the owner device. Sharing mode If the sharing mode is enabled in the advanced mode, unlocking can be carried out with any device so long as it is a NFC-compatible device installed with the Mamolica app and the correct password/period is satisfied. If the sharing mode is disabled, the card cannot be unlocked unless the ios device/windows device/android device registered as the owner device is used. Even if the sharing mode is enabled, the owner device is required to change or reset the lock method and lock setting. To change the settings in the sharing mode, connect the app to the card using the ios device registered as the owner device and enable/disable Sharing mode from the settings menu on the top right of the screen with the slide switch.

15 Changing the password/unlock approval period To change the password/unlock approval period in the advanced mode, connect the app to the card using the ios device registered as the owner device and then tap Change Password / Change Time to unlock from the settings menu on the top right of the screen. When changing the password, enter the old password and the new password (two locations) and then tap OK when the password setting screen appears. When changing the unlock approval period, set the new period to permit unlocking when the unlock approval period setting screen appears. The period cannot be changed unless the time is within the unlock approval period. If you want to change to a time outside the unlock approval period, perform Reset lock settings. The owner device is required to reset the lock setting. About the time information used in the advanced mode [Time] You can select whether to determine the unlock approval period by using the time information of the device, or by obtaining the local time information from the time server. To switch the setting, connect the app to the card using the ios device registered as the owner device and enable/disable Use time server from the settings menu on the top right of the screen with the slide switch after unlocking the card.

16 Manual lock mode In the initial state, the card will be automatically locked when the power supply of the device in which the card is inserted is turned off. However, if you enable the Manual lock mode, the card can be set not to lock automatically even if the power supply is turned off. To change the settings in the manual lock mode, connect the app to the card using the ios device registered as the owner device and enable/disable Manual lock mode from the settings menu on the top right of the screen with the slide switch. Registering the second owner device To register the second owner device, connect the app to the card using the ios device registered as the owner device and unlock the card. Then, tap Add second owner device from the settings menu on the top right of the screen.

17 Tap OK when the confirmation screen appears. The following screen appears. Connect the app to the card using the device you want to register as the second owner device in five minutes.

18 Introduction Resetting the lock setting To reset the lock setting and delete the owner device information registered in the card, connect the app to the card using the ios device registered as the owner device and then tap Reset lock settings from the settings menu on the top right of the screen after unlocking the card. Tap OK when the confirmation screen appears. Introduction Initialization Perform initialization if all the owner devices are lost, or if the password or unlock approval period set up in the advanced mode is forgotten or changes in the lock setting of the card and unlocking of the card is disabled. However, the lock settings are cleared and data recorded in the card will be deleted when initialization is performed. The system password will not be changed in the process of initialization. Initialization settings You can set whether to permit initialization beforehand. Note that the card will become unusable and unrecoverable even by the manufacturer if initialization is not allowed or changes in the lock setting of the card and unlocking of the card is disabled. To set whether to permit initialization, connect the app to the card using the ios device registered as the owner device and then tap Initialization setting from the settings menu on the top right of the screen after unlocking the card. Select Permit initialization to allow initialization and Do not permit initialization to disallow initialization and then tap OK.

19 Initialization execution If the card is set to allow initialization, initialization can be carried out with any device so long as it is a NFC-compatible device installed with the Mamolica app. To perform initialization, connect the app to the card using the ios device installed with the Mamolica app and then tap Initialize now from the settings menu on the top right of the screen. Tap OK after confirming the details when the confirmation screen appears.

20 *Even if you perform initialization with the above-mentioned procedure once, the initialization can be cancelled before you insert the card into a device such as a camera or PC and turn on the power supply of the device. If you perform initialization with the above-mentioned procedure, the manual lock mode is disabled and the card is locked. Unlock the card if you want to cancel the initialization. The following message appears. To complete the initialization, insert the card into a device such as a camera or PC and turn on the power supply of the device. *After performing initialization, format the card with a SDHC/SDXC compatible device (excluding PCs) or the latest SD format utility found at the following link. 21 System Password (for administrator) The system password is the password for NFC communication and the foundation of security provided by the Mamolica function. (It is not the password for unlocking.) The system password is set for each group (e.g., company or department) that needs to be separated in terms of security. You may not use two or more cards with different system passwords on the same NFC-compatible device. Be sure to change the system password from the factory setting. Using the card without changing its password from the factory setting will result in reduction of security level. Do not forget the password or disclose it to any third party. If you forget the password, NFC communication with the card and operations such as initialization will be disabled. Please note that the card becomes unrecoverable even by the manufacturer. Changing the system password 1. Initialize the card. To prevent data recorded in the card from being deleted during initialization, make a backup as necessary before the initialization. When the card is not permitted to be initialized, change the setting so that the initialization is permitted temporarily. As a result of card initialization, lock setting, registered owner device information, and setting to permit initialization will be deleted. Reset these settings after changing the system password.

22 2. The following message appears. To complete the initialization, insert the card into a device such as a camera or PC and turn on the power supply of the device. 3. Remove the card from the device and connect the app to the card using the ios device installed with the Mamolica app. * If you are asked to enter the system password, enter the current password (before change) of the card to be connected. 4. When the following screen appears, tap Change. 5. The system password setting screen appears. Enter the current system password and new system password (two fields - New System Password and Confirm New System Password ) and tap OK. When the system password before change is the factory setting, there is no need to enter the system

23 password before change. Set the password using 8 to 16 characters. Characters that can be used in the password include half-width alphabetical characters (a-z, A-Z) and half-width numbers (0-9). Note that alphabetical characters are case-sensitive. 6. The following message appears. To complete the change of the system password, insert the card into a device such as a camera or PC and turn on the power supply of the device. This ends the change of the system password. 24 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Q1. I lost all devices (ios device/windows device/android device) which I registered as the owner devices. A1. Please initialize. However, data recorded in the card will be deleted when initialization is performed. Q2. I forgot the password that I set. A2. Please initialize. However, data recorded in the card will be deleted when initialization is performed. Q3. I have forgotten the unlock approval period that I set and I can no longer unlock my card. A3. Please initialize. However, data recorded in the card will be deleted when initialization is performed. Q4. I would like to change to another lock method. What should I do? A4. See Changing the lock method. Changes to the lock method can only be made by the device registered as the owner device. Q5. There is no reaction even when I hold a NFC-compatible Android device installed with this app over the card. A5. When using an Android device, turn on the NFC function from the setting menu of the device first. The NFC sensor position of the device also differs depending on the model. Try on the area around or, or check the instruction manual of the Android device that you are using. The sensor may also not work properly when there are metallic objects nearby. Keep the sensor several centimeters away from metallic objects such as desks etc. Q6. PaSoRi cannot be used even though it is connected. A6. If you are using an ios device, connect to a Bluetooth compatible NFC reader PaSoRi RC-S390 (RC-S390/S), and if you are using a Windows device, connect to a USB compatible NFC reader PaSoRi RC-S380 (RC-S380/S). Installation of a driver software or changes in the device settings may be required. Check the instruction manual of PaSoRi for details. The sensor may also not work properly when there are metallic objects nearby. Keep the sensor several centimeters away from metallic objects such as desks etc. Q7. My card cannot be unlocked even though the unlock approval period is still valid. A7. If Use time server is enabled, sometimes it may not be possible to acquire the time information in places where the network connectivity is bad. Move to another location with better network connectivity and try again. Q8. I would like to return the card to its initial state. What should I do? A8. If you want to reset the lock setting and owner device information registered in the card, see Resetting the lock setting. To reset the lock setting, the card needs to be unlocked by

25 the owner device first. If the lock setting cannot be reset, see Initialization to perform initialization. However, data recorded in the card will be deleted when initialization is performed. Q9. Can the card be locked/unlocked with the slide switch at the side of the card as well? A9. The slide switch attached to the side of the card comes with a write protect function to prevent data recorded on the card from being overwritten or erased by mistake. This is different from the lock function operated by this app. Precautions when disposing Deleting data in the card completely by using an appropriate system or product; e.g., software for deleting data available on the market, is recommended when destroying the card. Even if you delete or reformat the card on a PC or digital still camera (for example), data may not be completely removed and/or may be recoverable if the device you used for the deletion or reformatting was not supplied with functionality that permanently deletes data from the card.
