4 Service description TAPI (Telephony Application Programming Interface) is a technology to allow applications to control telephony functions between a computer and telephony network. TAPI includes basic functions like dialling, answering and ending of call. It also supports supplementary functions like Hold, Transfer, and Conference. TAPI acts as a bridge between computer and telephone. The service will bear a monthly rental charge based on a 2 year minimum contract 1. Installation of TAPI 1.1 Pre-requisite for installing TAPI driver : Must have subscriber (call control licence) on the number from which to make calls. Must Sign out and exit office communicator/microsoft Lync (if in use). PC based application (Not MAC) windows XP Windows 7 (untested in Windows 8) Choose the TAPI driver as per the system specifications works on 32 bit or 64 bit operating systems 1.2 Set up of TAPI driver in SMT : First activate TAPI Access service in SMT under Call Management. The TAPI service can be activated at customer, site and subscriber level. The service can be turned on or off by the control provided as shown in the figure below. For the change to get reflected save button needs to be clicked (i) Activation of TAPI Access service under Call Management at customer level. 4

6 A billing message will be generated to show this is a chargeable application this will Need to be agreed upon to proceed. 1.3 Download of Tapi driver After activation of TAPI service through SMT, download TAPI installer from Phone Manager according to system specifications (32 bit or 64 bit) (i)log in to Phone manager web portal with login username and password on which TAPI service is activated. (ii)in the downloads section click on TAPI Installer Save this file by selecting on Save File option this will download a Zip File. 6

7 1.4 Installation of the TAPI client installer (i)click on ecstabroadsoft_uk installer downloaded Unzip the file and select the correct version for your PC either 64 or 32 bit (ii) Clicking on the installer results in opening of a pop up window as shown below. Click next to start the installation. 7

8 (iii) Next window will appear as shown below.again click next. (iv) Next window will open shown as below. 8

9 (v)once the features get installed the window below appears. Click on next button. 9

11 (vi)provide a unique name for the driver instance and select the option workstation in the window shown below.once done click on Next. 11

12 (vii) Please select line count option for 45 day demo licence and click on next. This will allow a 45 trial of the liscence from estos the SMT will still charge monthly for the sevice during the time it is switched on. 12

13 Or for Full installation Inclarity will supply the customer their individual unique liscence key* which you enter in the Box Below *Please contact your account manager for Liscence keys as they are subject to contract (viii)click next (ix)enter the details below in the next screen shown: Provider- Leave as Default Server Name (example only in diagram) Port-9979 (example only in diagram) SSL- Leave Unticked User Subscribers DDI number Password- same as Phone Manager &voic pw. Phone Number - Subscriber number in international format (+44) if you leave balank this will auto fill 13

15 (x)click next on the screen shown below. If the Status Light is Red the authentication has failed please check your account information details are correct. 15

16 (x)click finish in the screen shown below. 16

17 (xi) If installation is successful a confirmation window is shown as below. Click finish to close the window. 17

18 2.1 Configuration of TAPI with Outlook: To configure Outlook, first restart the outlook if you have it open. (i) Open a contact that has at least one phone number configured or add the phone numbers to contact. If contact list is empty then go to New option and add new contact according to user requirement. 18

19 (ii)now right click on contact and select call contact option. (iii) New Call dialog box will open.now Click on Dialing options. 19

20 (iv)select the number on which you want to call from the Connect using Line drop down list. Click the OK button. MS Outlook is now associated with the required number. 20

21 (v) Call status will be on hook. Once you click Start Call the call status will change to dialling. 21

22 3. Using Tapi in outlook When dialling a contact after the first time set up the connect using line setting will have remained, you will only need to right click on the contact and select the dial option and choose which number you wish to call,you phone will then ring and when you pick up the receiver or press the speaker key it will dial the destination. If the phone does not ring please check the following There are no firewalls blocking the service Ensure office communicator/microsoft Lync are not running User is set up in SMT User Password is correct The Application is running (check using services.msc from the start bar on the pc) 22

23 3. Pricing The Tapi application is priced as an additional feature that is added to a standard or multi-terminal subscriber. Set Up cost 0:00 Monthy RRP 2:50 Please note that there has to be a minimum 24 month contract for this product.
