1 Subsystems via Citrix Interface Through the installation of Citrix XenApp 6.5 software and Citrix Interface, you xan have access to: Subsystem of cartographic processing and spatial information processing, Subsystem of spatial processing analysis and Subsystem of video and hydroacoustic data processing To be able to use these subsystems, initially the appropriate Citrix Client should be installed on your personal computer and then you may connect to Citrix interface by using your personal domain account, which has been granted by the University of Aegean. Below are the basic steps of using the specific software. 1

2 CITRIX INTERFACE CITRIX CLIENT INSTALLATION 1. Connection to the network of the University. 2. 4 7. On the next screen choose where you want to save the installation file and click Save. Continue with the installation instructions listed on your screen. 8. After the completion of Citrix Receiver installation, the Browser is ready for connection. 4

6 LOGIN To be able to use the available applications, you must login to the user interface with your personal domain account. You have been granted with this domain account by the University of Aegean. Some browsers, depending on the version of the citrix client installed on the computer, it may not automatically recognize its existence and displays again an installation message: In this case, select the Skip to log on option to go to Log On home page. Ways to connect to the Citrix environment are: 6

7 1. either by using a Windows account (Pass-through), 2. or by entering credentials (Explicit). The webgis system of University of the Aegean is configured in such a way that users who are connected to a local computer of the university with their personal domain account, by choosing the Pass-through logon type don t need to retake their credentials, as it is used the Single Sign-On Login. Pass-through logon type: user s credentials are not required. Press Connection button to connect. If you are trying to connect remotely via VPN on the webgis system of University of the Aegean, or if the version of the browser does not automatically recognize the Pass-through procedure, in order to connect to the Citrix environment use the Explicit logon type. 7

8 Explicit logon type: you need to provide your personal domain account. Then press Connection button to connect. After Logging-in with the Domain Account that was provided to you, the available applications subsystems that you can use appear on your screen, as well as a tab with available case studies and their data: 8

11 AVAILABLE APPLICATIONS The available applications subsystems which you can use via Citrix environment are those below: SUBSYSTEM OF CARTOGRAPHIC PROCESSING AND SPATIAL INFORMATION PROCESSING ArcMap By choosing the application of ArcMap, you can access the Subsystem of cartographic processing and spatial information processing: The Subsystem of cartographic processing and spatial information processing provides tools so that you can analyze the spatial information that is stored in various cartographic layers. It provides also the possibility of applying interpolation methods for converting point data from the field into surfaces (raster), developing of three-dimensional visualization, applying geostatistical analysis and network analysis. The results of the processing / analysis of data can be stored in tables, images, charts or new cartographic layers. ArcMap Environment. 11
