2 Contents This manual contains instructions on the use of the Cruise Android app, as downloaded and installed from Android Market. The following apps must be downloaded and installed: Cruise E-Drive To use this app you need an Android smartphone with software update 1.6 or later. Scan the following QR kodes for Android marked. 3 Quick Guide How do I quickly start using the Cruise Speed limiter, so that I can limit the speed of my vehicle? You can find in-depth explanations on the next pages. 1. Download the Cruise E-Drive app. 2. Turn on the vehicle ignition. 3. Pair the phone with the Bluetooth module (CRUISE II) via the phone's settings. 4. Start Cruise E-Drive, Connect the Bluetooth module and Get data. Enter e.g. 80 km/h in Speed limiter value and Send data to the Bluetooth module. Close the Cruise E-Drive program and turn off the vehicle ignition. 5 Turn on the vehicle ignition. Start Cruise E-Drive and Get data. Change the password on the Bluetooth module, close Cruise E-Drive and turn off the vehicle ignition. Wait approx. 1 min. 6. Turn on the vehicle ignition, wait for Bluetooth pairing request on the phone and enter the new code. 7. Start Cruise E-Drive, Connect the Bluetooth module and Get data. Select Calibration in the menu. Calibrate the vehicle to 50 km/h. Page 3 / 13

4 Bluetooth module installation Insert the E-Cruise Bluetooth module plug, as shown, before turning on the vehicle ignition. The module has to remain plugged in to use the Parent control. Installation: E-Cruise Bluetooth module Page 4 / 13

5 Pairing the Bluetooth module First the E-Cruise Bluetooth module must be paired with your phone. See your phone instructions for detecting and connecting new Bluetooth units. Turn on the vehicle ignition. The unit to be located and used is called CRUISE II The code is: After pairing with the first phone, it is important that you change the code to the CRUISE II unit before adding other phones. 6 App function description You can find in-depth information on settings and use of the Cruise E-Drive in the following sections. Cruise E-Drive is an active program which is controlled automatically by a connected Bluetooth module. When the vehicle ignition is turned on, the system automatically searches for a parent phone, connected via Bluetooth. If the parent phone is recognised by the system, the speed limiter is disconnected and the parent can drive the vehicle on its own at the desired speed, without limitation from the system. If no parent phone is connected to the system, the Cruise system will automatically limit vehicle speed to the speed entered in the Speedlimiter value field, provided that the Enable/Disable speedlimiter field is checked. The Cruise system can recognise up to 4 parent phones. Each parent phone connected to the system can change all the settings discussed here. If settings are modified, you must exit the program with the Back button for the Cruise system to work. A little icon is displayed in the top left corner when the system is running. This warning will therefore be displayed in many situations. The Cruise system is inoperative until exit of the program via Back button. Select OK to close the window. Page 6 / 13

7 Starting and stopping the program Starting Cruise E-Drive. The program can be started both with the vehicle ignition turned on and without it. The program starts and a little icon is displayed in the top left corner. The Cruise E-Drive program will run as a service in the background and will be active for as long as the little icon is visible. To stop the program the ignition MUST be turned off. Start the service window (Swipe downwards from the top of the screen). The window on the left will appear; press Cruise E-Drive. Select Close Cruise E-Drive. The little Close the program using the Back button. icon disappears. Note: The vehicle is NOT set up to use speed limitation, and the parent control is now deactivated. Page 7 / 13

8 Changing language The program uses the same language as your phone. If you want to change language: (The ignition on your vehicle must NOT be on.) Start Cruise E-Drive and press the phone's Menu button and select Select language. Choose language, a new window opens with other languages. Select your preferred language and press the Back button on the phone. Please restart App to apply changes Select OK and close the program using the Back button. Page 8 / 13

9 Changing the pairing code Changing the pairing code is performed in two steps. Step 1 is to activate and enter the Speed limiter value. Turn on the vehicle ignition. Start Cruise E-Drive and press the phone's Menu button. If the little icon is not showing, select Connect and select the unit CRUISE II. The program displays the message Connection established. Select Get data. The program displays the message Data received ok. Hardware Info is read from the unit. Data is only used by the workshop. Select Enable/Disable speedlimit, so that the field is checked. Enter the desired speed in the Speedlimiter value field. (The calibration on page 11 is not needed to change the code). Select Send data. The program displays the message. Data sent ok. Leave the ignition on. Page 9 / 13

10 Changing the pairing code Select the phone's Menu button. Select Change password. Enter the old password Enter the new password twice. Select Change password. The program displays the message Password changed OK. If you want to send the password in an , press new password. The phone MUST have an account installed on it for this function to work. Press Return and close the program using the Back button. Switch off the ignition for approx. 10 seconds, then turn it back on. The phone displays the message Bluetooth pairing request. Start the service window (Swipe downwards from the top of the screen). The window on the left will appear; press Pairing request. Enter the new password. The program displays the message Connection established. Select the Back button. Turn off the vehicle ignition and close the program using the Back button. Page 10 / 13

11 Calibration Setting must only be performed once. Make sure the Speed limiter value you enter matches the vehicle's speed limiter exactly. Start the engine. Start Cruise E-Drive and press the phone's Menu button. If the little icon is not showing, select Connect and select the unit CRUISE II. The program displays the message Connection established. Select Get data. The program displays the message Data received ok. Hardware Info is read from the unit. Data is only used by the workshop. Press the Menu button on the phone and select Calibrate to start the calibration. Drive at a speed as near to 50 km/h as possible. Press Calibrate. The window is automatically exited once calibration is complete. The program displays the message Calibration ok. Turn off the vehicle ignition and close the program using the Back button. 12 Speed limiter mode Turn on the vehicle ignition. Start Cruise Speed limiter and press the phone's Menu button. If the little icon is not showing, select Connect and select the unit CRUISE II. The program displays the message Connection established. Select Get data. The program displays the message Data received ok. Hardware Info is read from the unit. Data is only used by the workshop. Select Speedlimiter mode. Select function mode. Active mode: If the Bluetooth connection disappears, it may be that the phone is no longer connected or no longer present. Each time the vehicle speed drops below 30 km/h the system will automatically try to re-establish the connection. Speed limitation will be activated until the parent phone is connected again. Passive mode: The system will only look for a parent phone once the ignition is on. If no parent phone is present, speed limitation will be activated. The system will search again the next time the ignition is turned on. If a parent phone is present, speed limitation will not be activated. Turn off the vehicle ignition and close the program using the Back button. Page 12 / 13

13 Entering a Speed limiter value The program must be calibrated, as discussed on page 11. Turn on the vehicle ignition. Start Cruise E-Drive and press the phone's Menu button. If the little icon is not showing, select Connect and select the unit CRUISE II. The program displays the message Connection established. Select Get data. The program displays the message Data received ok. Hardware Info is read from the unit. Data is only used by the workshop. Select Enable/Disable speedlimit, so that the field is checked. Enter the desired speed in the Speed limiter value field. The figure must be the desired speed. Select Send data. The program displays the message Data sent ok.
