2 TouchPoint Console Application & Firmware 1. Purpose The purpose of this document is to outline the compatibility between versions of Equitrac Professional 5 (EP 5.x.x) and the specific new release 2.x vs 1.x legacy subsets of TouchPoint Console (TPC) Application and Platform Firmware versions. 2. Scope This guide applies to all TouchPoint Console onsole devices under all EP5 (5.2.0 and up) server versions 3. 3 4 Customer Considerations 4.1 New install environment/ Upgrade A new install/ upgrade is one which is defined as either a new site or customer in which this will be the first of a TouchPoint Console (TPC) install Recommendation: Use the current release 2.x where applicable, in accordance to the above chart. 4.2 Add-ON When adding a new TPC to an existing TPC installation whose EP5 server is above EP5.2.2, before considering an update to all existing TPC(s) with the same 2.x in accordance to the above chart, determine overall downtime impact to customer. Recommendation: Unless crucial to customer stability or release mandate, avoid unnecessary across the board updates. A mix environment of Current (2.x) and Legacy (1.x) TPCs in accordance to the above chart is allowed until such time prohibited through a release mandate 4.3 RMA Replacement When installing a TPC replacement whose EP5 server is above EP5.2.2, before considering an update to any existing TPC(s) with the same 2.x in accordance to the above chart, determine overall downtime impact to customer. Recommendation: Unless crucial to customer stability or release mandate, avoid unnecessary across the board updates. A mix environment of Current (2.x) and Legacy (1.x) TPCs in accordance to the above chart is allowed until such time prohibited through a release mandate.

4 5 Quick Guide using Terminal Updater Tool ( EQterminalUpdate.exe) 5.1 Introduction The latest release ( or later) of EQterminalUpdate.exe expands on the [Update firmware] & [Update application] options to include the [Update Both] option. The [Update Both] option allows for both selected Application (InstallTPC-x-x-x-x.zip) & Firmware (DijonTPC-NK-x-x-x-x.bin) versions to be uploaded automatically in sequence to the TPC. This option comes in handy when the need arises to update both application and Platform firmware versions, such as when migrating between legacy 1.x and current 2.x versions..etc. Note: This section assumes you are familiar with using the Equitrac Terminal Updater tool. If not, for a detailed step by step, please download and consult the latest TPC Installation Guide 5.2 Migrating from 1.x to 2.x 1. Download TPC Platform version via filename (DijonTPC-NK bin) file locally to EP5 server

5 2. Download the applicable 2.x TPC Application software version from partner portal and extract the installation (InstallTPC-2-0-X-X.zip) file locally to EP5 server 3. Launch the Equitrac Terminal Updater ( EQterminalUpdate.exe) Ensure Automatically restart after device is updated is checked. Select TouchPoint Console under filter by device list Click on Discover, confirm subnet is correct then click on OK to begin the discovery process to populate the Terminal Device List list of all detected TPCs. Note: This process may take a few minutes

Confirm list of detected TPCs as shown below, populated under the Terminal device list display for each TPC displaying current Platform and Application loaded versions. Example below shows the 1.x legacy version e.g. (Platform: / Application: ) NOTE: In those cases where multiple TPCS are listed, avoid selecting more than one TPC at a time for upgrade until the process has been successfully completed on one TPC Ensure the TPC shows a status of IDLE Click to highlight as shown, anywhere along the ROW on of the IDLE TPC to be updated. 5. Under Select Firmware click on browse and navigate to Platform DijonTPC-NK ) file and select OK ( Open ) After clicking on Open platform version ( ) selected should be displayed DO NOT select Update Firmware option

Under Select Application click on browse and navigate to application InstallTPC-2-x-x-x.zip) file ( in this example, version is selected) and ( Open ) select OK After clicking on Open Application version ( ) as selected should be displayed DO NOT select Update Application option 7. Click on Update Both option to begin the migrate from 1.x (Platform: / Application: ) to 2.x (Platform: / Application: ) process in the illustrated example below. Click on Update Both Moments later, status top right should change to Updating and message in bottom left below displays Device Update Application followed minutes later by Device update firmware

8 TouchPoint Console Application & Firmware Device update firmware message which can take in upwards 10 minutes and longer depending on network bandwidth. IMPORTANT: TO AVIOD RENDERING TPC INOPERABLE, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THE TPC BE PREMATURELY POWER CYCLED DURING THE FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCESS. AGAIN, FIRMWARE PROCESS CAN TAKE 10 MINUTES + 4. Upon completion, the status will change to Restarting indicating the TPC has restarted

Periodically click on Refresh to see the current Status which sequences through OFFLINE then BOOTING where eventually settles at IDLE at which time the reported running 2.x Platform & Application versions should be displayed as follows; Confirm loaded 2.x Platform and Application version. Shown here for illustration purposes as / Migrating from 2.x to 1.x Repeat above section 5.2, however using the applicable 1.x Platform (e.g. Ver: ) & Application version (e.g. Ver: InstallTPC-1-X-X-X.zip) files

10 TouchPoint Console Application & Firmware 5.4 Updating Application or Platform firmware versions ONLY Introduction Use this section when the update is limited to only the Application (InstallTPC-X-X-X-X.zip) or Platform (DijonTPC-NK-X-X-X-X.BIN) versions. Note: In accordance with the compatibility chart in section 3, legacy 1.x application versions must only be used with the corresponding Platform version, likewise 2.x application versions must only be used with the corresponding Platform version Updating ONLY Platform firmware (DijonTPC-NK-X-X-X-X.BIN) version 1. Download the applicable TPC Platform version (DijonTPC-NK-x-x-x-x.bin) for or version locally to EP5 server 2. Using the discovery option, select TPC to be updated 3. Under Select Firmware click on browse and navigate to the desired DijonTPC-NK- later x-x-x-x) file and select OK ( Open ) 4. Confirm status of TPC displays IDLE 5. Click on Update Firmware and the message Device update firmware moments should appear along with a progress bar.
