3 1 Purpose The purpose of this document is to summarize and communicate the new features, known issues and best practices for Equitrac Professional 5.7. It is intended for Equitrac staff and partners that support and service Equitrac Professional Scope Equitrac Professional 5.7 is an updated release of Equitrac Professional 5. These release notes include new features and known issues at the time of release and observations about best practices and policies. 3 What s New in This Release? 3.1 New s The following new features are available with this release. availability varies by configuration and end points used. Embedded USB Multi-Format Card Reader support Blank page removal for scanning Equitrac Document Capture Description/Benefit : Equitrac Professional 5.7 is compatible with the newest Equitrac USB Card Readers: CRU00X02 MiFare (gen 2) CRU00Z02 HID/Indala (gen 2) CRU0MF02 Multi-Card CRU00Y02 Legic (gen 2) CRU0MC02 Multi Card Reader (with full iclass decoding). The EP 5.7 system can now be configured to automatically remove blank pages from scan jobs performed using a TouchPoint Console terminal when using workflow which uses the OmniPage OCR engine. This configuration saves manual effort following a scan job to go back into a file to remove blank pages. Page 3 of 14

4 Embedded Ricoh Java 12.x Devices Ricoh ESA Hide Scan-to-Me Xerox: Update Supported Devices Xerox ConnectKey 1.5/EIP 3.0 Compatibility Xerox Webkit Compatibility Description/Benefit Ricoh ESA now provides support for the Ricoh Java 12 family of devices. For a complete list of supported Ricoh Java 12 devices, please see this webpage on the Nuance.com website: Equitrac Professional 5.7 now provides the ability to hide the Scanto-Me button on Ricoh ESA embedded clients. This feature was introduced to simplify the end-user experience when other scan applications are enabled on the embedded client. This system wide configuration is not configurable by the system administrator. It must be requested upon system installation or provided as a service request under a maintenance contract by a trained EP support technician. The list of supported Xerox embedded devices has been updated for Equitrac Profession 5.7. For a complete list of supported Xerox devices, please see this webpage on the Nuance.com website: Equitrac Professional 5.7 supports the latest Xerox ConnectKey 1.5/EIP Multi-Function Printers. For a complete list of supported Xerox devices, please see this webpage on the Nuance.com website: The Xerox embedded client has been enhanced to support the 2 nd generation WebKit based browser. Webkit is a necessary software component used in rendering web pages in browsers. Support for the Webkit based browser is important because Xerox will be transitioning its devices to include the Webkit based browser (from the ANT based browser) in the near further. EP 5.7 also continues to support the 1 st generation ANT based browser that previous EP 5 versions currently support. Page 4 of 14

5 Embedded HP Edgeline Description/Benefit Embedded client support has been dropped for HP Edgeline devices. This impacts the HP CM8050 and CM8060 devices. Server CAS offline print release Multiple Follow-You Printing pull groups Optimizing System Manager Performance Updated Messaging in Windows Event Viewer Transaction Imports Description/Benefit In cases where the Equitrac CAS server is unreachable, users who have previously logged in and have their credentials stored within the system cache are able to release their queued print jobs. Note: Requires configuration of Home DRE to find print jobs. Equitrac Professional 5.7 allows devices to belong to multiple Follow-You Printing pull groups. Users can access their print jobs from a larger set of devices. For example: devices can be configured to release jobs sent to multiple Equitrac print queues, the same color MFP could be used to release a job sent to either a monochrome pull group or a color pull group. User management pane loads faster in EP 5.7 than in previous builds, especially when managing a system that uses Alternate PINs. This optimization reduces the time required for configuring and managing users. The error message description in the Windows Event Viewer when importing invalid phone transactions has been enhanced to include additional Call Accounting details. This messaging enhancement will greatly improve the trouble shooting process for Equitrac Professional 5.7 Administrators. The Transaction Import Wizard has been updated for EP 5.7 to allow for transactions to be tracked by user s . The user s now acts as unique identifier for tracking transactions (i.e., imported from 3 rd party applications) that do contain User ID or User Code. Page 5 of 14

6 Server Fuji Xerox ecopy Integration Xerox ecopy Integration ecopy Do Not Send Password Description/Benefit Equitrac Professional 5.7 has been updated to support ecopy integration with Fuji Xerox embedded clients. The ecopy Fuji Xerox integration uses the currently supported ecopy Cost Recovery protocol v3. Cost Recovery protocol v3 allows users to use the Single Sign-On (server based) authentication with ecopy to be automatically logged in. Note: The existing protocol v2 continues to be supported. Equitrac Professional 5.7 supports ecopy integration with Xerox EIP embedded clients using the Cost Recovery protocol v3. Integration with ecopy allows for the user to be access the ecopy application directly once logged into the Xerox embedded client. All scan transactions performed will be tracked by Equitrac Professional. The ecopy integration in EP 5.7 provides the option for Administrators to decide to, or not to (for reasons of security or convenience), allow EP to send secondary/pin (Password) to the ShareScan server (Single Sign On option). Note: This feature does not apply to CR protocol V2. ecopy Unencrypted Communication Equitrac Professional 5.7 ecopy integration now allows for the use of the Cost Recovery protocol v3 without encryption. This option can be configured in System Manager by EP Administrators. Note: This feature does not apply to CR protocol V2. 7 Platform Compatibility imanage/worksite 9 Support Windows Server 2003/2003R2 Windows XP Windows Vista Description/Benefit Equitrac Professional 5.7 supports Autonomy (formerly Interwoven) imanage Worksite version 9. Equitrac Professional 5.7 will not support Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and 2003 R2. On July 13, 2010, Microsoft discontinued mainstream support of Windows Server 2003/2003 R2. Microsoft, however, will continue to provide extended support through to March 14, It is recommended that customers upgrade to the most currently supported version of Windows Server. Equitrac Professional 5.7 will no longer support Microsoft Windows XP desktop operating system. On April 8, 2014, Microsoft discontinued all support for Windows XP. It is recommended that customers upgrade to the most currently supported version of Windows Server. Equitrac Professional 5.7 will no longer support Microsoft Windows Vista desktop operating system. On April 10, 2012, Microsoft discontinued mainstream support of Windows Vista. It is recommended that customers upgrade to the most currently supported version of Windows Server. 3.2 Installation Requirements Hardware, operating system software and requirements are outlined in the Technical Specification datasheets available on the Partner Portal. 8 4 Customer Continuity Equitrac Professional customers using current versions of Equitrac Professional 5.5 & 5.6, and currently under maintenance, will be able to update to version 5.7 at no software charge. This is not a mandatory update. Upgrades from Equitrac Professional 5.4 (or earlier) are not supported. SR# Enhancement Validation errors are now shown when the Print Client popup first appears identifying fields requiring input. If the copy count of a subjob was invalid in the Print Client popup, the error message Override validation errors? incorrectly appeared in the error dialog. Page 12 of 14

13 6.2 Known Issues The following is a list of known issues in Equitrac Professional 5.7: ID Manifestation Resolution Int ID# Int ID# Int ID# Int ID# Int ID# Fuji Xerox: User is not able to login to MFP following restoration of Ethernet connection. When Authentication Method is set to keypad only in System Manager, a user is still able to login to an MFP via card swipe. This applies to Xerox and Fuji Xerox devices only. The WebClient uses outdated java script Window.showModalDialog() method. Xerox WC 7525/5665 devices: Selecting 'Logout' on (MFP) Cost Recovery screen causes an exception/soap error, resulting in the screen being unusable. This applies to select Xerox devices only. The Windows Event Viewer generates warning messages when accessing the Web Client. To be addressed in a future release. Workaround: When the Ethernet connection is restored, press the Login in/log out button and then swipe a card. To be addressed in a future release. To be addressed in a future release.
