3 Decide Platform & Device IMPORTANT NOTICE MS e-study Buddy IS AN APP. YOU CANNOT LAUNCH IT BY LOGGING IN TO OUR WEBSITE WITH YOUR WEB BROWSER. The app must be installed on your device after it has been downloaded from our webpage or from the app stores. EACH USER ACCOUNT ALLOWS ONLY ONE DEVICE TO BE ASSOCIATED, SO CAREFULLY CHOOSE THE PLATFORM BEST SUITED TO YOUR NEEDS. Once a device is registered to your account, no other devices can be successfully authorised. If you need to switch to another device due to damage, loss, replacement or upgrade, contact technical support to have your older device de-registered. MS e-study Buddy IS ACCOUNT-BASED. 5 Decide Platform & Device STEP 1 DECIDE ON A SUITABLE PLATFORM & DEVICE MS e-study Buddy currently supports most devices on the following computing platforms: Windows OS Personal Computer MacOS Personal Computer ios devices: iphone & ipad Android Devices: Android phone & Android Tablet If the chosen device does not work properly with MS e-study Buddy, try looking for alternative devices. Recommended specifications for reference Where hardware is concerned, the newer the hardware, the better MS e-study Buddy will perform. If you have devices that meet or exceed the following criteria, MS e-study Buddy will be the best self-revision platform you have ever had. 8 Download e-study Buddy STEP 2 DOWNLOAD MS e-study Buddy You will need an active Internet connection on the device you are downloading the app to. Windows OS / MacOS 1. Using your web browser, visit the app website at the link given below: Enter MS e-study Buddy download in your browser s search bar. Check that the webpage you click on has as its domain name, and is trusted & safe. OR 2. On Mind Stretcher s MS e-study Buddy webpage, click on the name of your platform of choice Windows: Click on blue lettering labelled Windows. MacOS: Click on blue lettering labelled Mac. 9 Download e-study Buddy IOS Phone or Tablet Android Phone or Tablet 1. Launch Apple s App Store app on your ipad 2. Enter MS e-study Buddy in the search field 3. Tap on MS e-study Buddy app banner. 4. Follow AppStore instructions to download (installation is automatic) 1. Launch the Google Play app on your tablet. 2. Enter MS e-study Buddy in the search field 3. Tap on MS e-study Buddy app banner. 4. Follow Google Play instructions to install (download is automatic) 5. Grant app access to media by clicking accept when asked for permission OR OR Visit Mind Stretcher s MS e-study Buddy page using your ios device s browser. 11 Install MS e-study Buddy STEP 3 INSTALL MS e-study Buddy Like with most other apps, we recommend keeping up with your device s latest stable Operating System (OS). This will ensure problem-free usage as MS e-study Buddy development is in-step with OS changes. Windows OS If using a personal computer (Windows OS or MacOS), confirm that current user account has the administrator privileges needed to install the app. 1. Navigate to Downloads folder & search for filename containing the words MS e-study Buddy. The installer has filetype extension.exe. If the filetype extension is.zip, right click to select extract all, then select Desktop as the destination folder. 2. Double click on the extracted executable file to run installation. 13 Install MS e-study Buddy MacOS 1. Navigate to download folder (default : Downloads ) or Search using Spotlight or Finder for e-study Buddy. The installer file may come with filetype extension.pkg or ZIP Spotlight (menu bar, top-right) Finder (Icon) 2. Double click on file to run and extract if necessary. Follow the 5-step installation procedure. You may be asked to provide your Mac password during installation. The incomplete installer file may be able to start but will fail before the process is completed. Check that the download is successful and the downloaded filesize matches the original. 16 Authorise device for MS e-study Buddy STEP 4 AUTHORISE YOUR DEVICE FOR MS e-study Buddy Authorisation lets us know that you are an eligible MS e-study Buddy user, what device you have chosen to use the app, and locks your device to your user account. It is like signing-in to an account. TO USE MS e-study Buddy, YOU WILL NEED TO AUTHORISE YOUR DEVICE TO YOUR ACCOUNT IN KEEPING WITH MIND STRETCHER S ONE-DEVICE PER ACCOUNT POLICY, THE FIRST AUTHORISATION WILL LOCK YOUR DEVICE TO YOUR ACCOUNT. ONCE AUTHORISED, YOU NEED NOT PERFORM AUTHORISATION AGAIN UNLESS: - you are sharing the device with another user eg a sibling. - you have just transferred your account to a new device. - you have reinstalled and launched MS e-study Buddy. All Platforms How to Authorise my account. online connection required On your desktop home screen: 1. Tap Click on the e-study Buddy icon to launch MS e-study Buddy 2. Check your inbox or spam folder for a mail from mindstretcher@pagewerkz.com 3. Enter the username and password (included in the mail) into their respective fields. 4. Tap Click on Authorise button to proceed to the End User License Agreement (EULA). 5. View and accept the End User License Agreement (EULA). By selecting accept, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by the End-User License Agreement. You will not be able to proceed unless you agree to the EULA. 17 Authorise device for MS e-study Buddy All Platforms (Continued) How to Deauthorise my account. In the app: 1. Go to Account screen using the bottom navigation bar 2. Tap Click on button: Change user You will also be deauthorised from your device when you choose setting: reset factory default at the Account screen Why Deauthorise? Deauthorising your account is performed primarily to let another user share the use of the app on the same device. After deauthorising, you will need to provide your username & password to regain access to MS e-study Buddy Reauthorise my account. online connection required Reauthorisation returns access to a previously deauthorised device. As long as you have not transferred your account to another device, you can perform reauthorisation on your current device. However, if you had already gotten technical support to transfer authorisation to another device, you will no longer be able to reauthorise a deauthorised device on your own. Please contact technical support for a followup. When you uninstall and re-install MS e-study Buddy, you will also be required to authorise your device again. 18 Authorise device for MS e-study Buddy Wait! My device is not able to run the app properly. What should I do?? After installing and authorising the device for use with your account, if you find that your chosen device is not suitable for using the app, follow the steps described below: A. Uninstall MS e-study Buddy from unsuitable device B. Contact Technical Support with request to release device lock for your account. C. Repeat Download and Installation for new device D. Authorise new device and test the app. If... device is found to be suitable Enjoy MS e-study Buddy device does not run app well Repeat steps A to D CONSIDER USING MS e-study Buddy ON ANOTHER DEVICE IF... App still fails to launch after seeking technical support App crashes at launch App crashes or freezes frequently during use. App experiences slow performance overall. 20 Remove MS e-study Buddy STEP 1 Remove MS e-study Buddy Windows PC Windows versions 7.0: 1. Navigate to: Start (at bottom task bar) > Control Panel > Programs and Features 2. Select MS e-study Buddy, then select uninstall. Windows 8.1, Navigate to: System > Apps and Features 2. Browse to, or Search for MS e-study Buddy entry 3. Click on MS e-study Buddy entry and select uninstall button that appears. STEP 1 STEP 2 STEP 3 Uninstall MS e-study Buddy Options Finish & exit Local files - to Remove or not to Remove? STEP 2 Options - Removing of local data is recommended MS e-study Buddy sets aside space on your device for storing local data. When you no longer need to use the app, it would be recommended that you clear the space taken up by these files. MS e-study Buddy Download & Installation Guide Pg 19

21 Remove MS e-study Buddy MacOS PC 1. In MS e-study Buddy, go to Account screen. Under Settings tab, select option: Restore factory default to remove un-needed account data. 2. Finder > Go > Applications -OR- Keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + A 3. Find MS e-study Buddy. 4. Keyboard shortcut Control + Mouseclick to bring up context menu. 5. Select Move to Trash. IOS Phone or Tablet 1. Navigate to General>Storage & icloud Usage > Manage storage (storage) 2. Select MS e-study Buddy app 3. Tap delete app -OR- 1. Tap and hold MS e-study Buddy icon for more than 1 second. App icons will start to jitter. 2. Tap on circle with X next to MS e-study Buddy icon to uninstall. Android Phone or Tablet (variations in user interface may exist for different manufacturers) 1. Navigate to Settings>Installed apps> 2. Select MS e-study Buddy app. 3.
