3 1.0 Connect Programming Cable 1. First Step is to connect the PL2303 SLM Programming Cable to the RadioSecure SLM and Plug it into a Free USB Slot on the computer. The PC will recognize the COM Port if the Prolific-PL2303 windows driver was already installed on the PC. If not, see the list of initial software to load on the PC before running the application. 2. Run the Programming Tool Application. Startup Screen Appears with a request for Password. The Password for General User Parameter Settings is user. Note: Wrong Password will close the application environment. 1.1 Startup Screen

4 3. Next Click on the COM PORT Box and Refresh. A New Com Port appears in the BOX corresponding to the PL2303 cable. Select this COM Port Ex ASRL2 :: 4. Read Settings File: In the bottom Settings Box Select Read Settings from File and then click on the adjacent File-R/W Button. A dialog box appears to select the corresponding setting file. Ex: Envotech-SLM Settings.ini Select the File and click OK. The settings will be loaded on the screen. We are ready to program these settings into the Envotech-SLM 3. Note Text in Blue Explains the Command. Apart from that please click on any Data Field to display a tool tip about the Valid Inputs for that field. 5. To program all the settings put the R/W mode button to the Right (Read & Write Position) and hold the program button to the right (All Position) until the Test Starts. 6. To only Read without writing R/W mode button should be to the Left (Read Only Position) 7. Incase any setting failed on the first execution the Tool tries the failed setting one more time towards the end.

5 8. Incase any particular settings failed even after second trail, we can click only that particular button to redo only that particular setting 9. Each setting will be programmed to the Envotech-SLM and will be Read back from the SLM to verify it was written well. While it writes the settings for APN, IP, GPS, GPRS etc. The corresponding tab Page will be displayed briefly. 10. Uncheck the Checkbox on the left to disable programming any particular Setting. Only if a checkbox is checked the corresponding setting will be programmed when we press the Program all button. 11. While the test is in progress the Serial Port Data String Boxes shows us the Data being read. When all settings are done an indicator appears to show if all settings were done as intended or not!

17 On the Misc Tab we have the possibility to write 14 sets of SLM Settings and on Misc-2 tab Read 2 SLM Settings according to Users Choice. Note that the Pass for the Custom settings is based on receiving an acknowledgement from SLM that the command was executed correctly. We don t actually read back what was written into the SLM. For the Read custom setting we display the raw data read corresponding to the read operation in the Read1, Read2 boxes.

18 3.0 Saving the Parameters & settings It is good to save the changes made to the check-box s or any parameter values to the initial settings file or create a new setting file. To do this select in the settings radio button box the option Write settings to file and then click the button File R/W. A dialog box appears asking for the password. The password is password cannot be changed by the user). envotech (This If entered correctly a standards windows file dialog box appears so that we can select/create a settings file. 3.1 Envotech-SLM Device Password Take care to remember the password which you have changed. A good way is to save any changes to the settings file once you changed the password or any other parameters Changing Device Password When you click the change button beside the Password text box, a popup window at the center of the screen prompts you to enter the Password. This is the same password as Writing to settings file. i.e. envotech ( all small letters)

19 If you enter the password correctly another window opens to ask for the existing SLM Device Password and the new password that you want to set. Correct Old password and reconfirmation of the new password will write the new password in to SLM. The new password is automatically set to the main window as well. 3.2 Stop The stop button at the button of the screen is to stop the program from running. However it is not really necessary to stop after programming the SLM. We can change and put new SLM while the Tool is running.
