3 Note this tool does not allow you to change the unit ID 1. Connect the PL2303 Programming Cable to the RadioSecure SLM and plug it into a free USB Slot on the computer. The PC will recognize the COM Port if the Prolific-PL2303 windows driver was installed on the PC. 2. Next launch the Envotech SLx-2 Basic Programming Tool. Select COM PORT and choose the port corresponding to the PL2303 cable. 3. Read Settings File: Select Read Settings from File and click on the adjacent File-R/W Button. A dialog box appears to select the corresponding setting file. Ex: Envotech

4 RadioSecure SLx Settings.ini. Select the File, then OK. The settings will be loaded on the screen. 4. To program all the settings put the R/W mode button to the Right (Read & Write Position) and hold the program button to the right (All Position) until the Test Starts 5. To Read settings from device without writing, R/W mode button should be to the Left (Read Only) 6. In case any read or write settings failed on the first execution, the Tool automatically tries a second time. 7. In case any particular settings failed even after second trial, select the particular button to re-read or re-write the setting. 8. Each setting can be programmed to the RadioSecure SLx and can be Read from RadioSecure SLx to verify the settings. While it writes/reads the settings for APN, IP, GPS, GPRS etc.. the corresponding tab Page will be displayed briefly. 9. Uncheck the Checkbox (refer to Parameter) on the left to disable programming any particular Setting. Only if a checkbox is checked the corresponding setting will be programmed when we press the Program all button. 10. When all settings are done an indicator appears to show if all settings were done as intended or not!

5 Saving the Parameters It is advisable to save the changes made to the check-box s or any parameter values to the initial settings file or create a new setting file. To do this select Write Settings to File, then click the R/W button. A dialog box appears asking for the password. The password is envotech. (This password cannot be changed by the user). If entered correctly a standards windows file dialog box appears so that we can select/create a settings file. Stop SLx The stop button at the button of the screen is to stop the program from running. However it is not really necessary to stop after programming the SLM. We can change and put new SLM while the Tool is running. SW to load on the PC before running the application:

Threshold 3.1 check boxes 7 and 8 for Threshold parameter settings. 3.2 Warning Absolute : Temperature and humidity sensing in absolute mood. SLE will not trigger any alert. SLE shall report absolute reading to the server in heartbeat message. Server to decipher data accordingly. Threshold : Temperature and humidity sensing in threshold mood. Temperature and humidity range are set in SLE. Once sensor detected temperature or humidity beyond predefined range, alert message is triggered. 3.3 Low-Volt set the voltage that triggers the low voltage alert. 4. Environ

8 4.1 check boxes 9 and 10 for Environ parameter settings. 4.2 Temp_Low Set the temperature that triggers the low temperature alert. 4.3 Temp_High Set the temperature that triggers the high temperature alert. 4.4 Humidity_Low Set the humidity that triggers the low humidity alert. 4.5 Humidity_High Set the humidity that triggers the high humidity alert. 5. Light 5.1 Check boxes 13 and 14 to enable parameter settings. 5.2 Light Sensor No Sensor : Disable light sensor. Sen OK NO Alarm : Light sensing in Absolute mood. SLE will not trigger any alert. SLE shall report absolute reading (dark or bright) to the server in heartbeat message. Server to decipher data accordingly. Sen OK Alarm OK : Light sensing in Threshold mood. Once sensor detected a change of state (dark to bright or bright to dark), it will trigger alert message. 5.3 Bright-Dark Time interval the sensor detects the change of state from bright to dark. 5.4 Dark-Bright Time interval the sensor detects the change of state from dark to bright. 6. Misc

9 6.1 MISC tab is provision for customized function. Not applicable to Standard SLx. 7. FW-Ver 7.1 check boxes 11 and 12 to enable parameter settings. 7.2 Read_Version the firmware version of the SLx 7.3 Read_Volt the battery voltage of the SLx.

10 Firmware Upgrading 1. This setting required for programming cable build in with Profilic PL Install the PL2302 Profilic Driver 1.2 Connect IVM Programming Cable to computer USB port. Check in Device Manager if Profilic driver is properly installed. Fig.1 shows a correctly installed driver. Figure 1 2. Follow the instructions below carefully to upgrade the SLx 2 Firmware. 2.1 Connect the SLx to PC with the programming cable. Switch 2 ON. 2.2 Launch HyperTerminal and a pop out box as Figure 2 will show. Choose COM Port, then OK.
