SCC Tactical is the mobile Situational Awareness component of the SCC Titan Solution. It is designed to be accessed on a tablet or laptop computer running Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 and is used in conjunction with the SCC Platform as a client-based standalone solution. It utilises satellite communications infrastructure to ensure continuous secure operation anywhere in the world. 3

1.1 Connecting Tactical to a Whisper To use the Tactical application users must connect their Whisper device to the tablet/laptop SCC Tactical is running on. User will connect using a micro USB cable plugged into the Whisper and a USB end plugged into the tablet/laptop. T24 recommend that a connection is made using a USB 2.0 port on the tablet/laptop. After the cable connection is established the user will need to select the correct Device and Port the asset is using in the settings window (for more information on settings see section 10). Once the device and port is set the user will click the button highlighted in red in the picture seen below. IMPORTANT: Should you lose connection to the SCC Tactical Tablet, click the Connect button above to reestablish the connection. IMPORTANT: A connect device, Network communication and GPS synchronization must be established before position reports and alarm position reports can be transmitted. IMPORTANT: Before connecting to the tactical device the Whisper must be on it s home screen. Once the connection has been established the Whisper device will be locked on Iridium screen (Whisper 1 excluded). 5

ADDITIONAL FEATURES The top 4 Status Icons (Labeled 1, 2, 3 and 4) display the current status of the Tactical Connection. 1. This is the device connection icon, which has 2 states, connected and disconnected. If the icon is red no device connection is present, green indicates a device is connected to the Tactical device. 2. This is the WIFI signal strength, for users using WIFI it will show the connection strength of the WIFI signal. 3. This is the Iridium connection status, it can range from Poor to Excellent, this Icon has 3 states, red indicates a poor or weak Iridium Connection, Yellow indicates a Marginal connection and Green indicates a good or excellent connection. (Please note that data can only be transferred through the Iridium network with a marginal or better connection. 4. This Icon represents the GPS Fix, it has 2 states, Red indicates no GPS Fix and Green indicates a valid fix. 6

The 5 smaller icons are as follows, Connect (Used to establish device connection based on settings), Settings (used to configured device connection, Password changes, and AES Encryption), Update SA (used to request new Situational Awareness Data from the SCC Titan Platform), My Position (centers the Map on your current location), and Labels (used to configure Map Layers and Map Sources as well as what information is being displayed on the Map Screen). 2 COCKPIT TAB Asset Name : COMM ID: Identifies Asset SA AGE: Time since Asset last reported Identifies Asset The Cockpit Window is the main window for the T24 Defence SCCT application. The Cockpit Window is divided into the following columns: 2.1 SITUATIONAL AWARENESS COLUMNS COMM ID column Transmission ID associated with the specified Asset Asset Name column Call sign associated with the specified Asset SA AGE column Time stamp of when Asset last reported SA SPD (KPH) column Speed of Asset s latest position report HDG column Heading of Asset s latest position report Latitude Longitude column Coordinates of the Asset s latest position 7

MGRS column Military Grid Reference of Asset s last position report Alarm Age column Age of Asset s last alarm position report, will include Latitude Longitude (MGRS) IMPORTANT: Double clicking an Asset Name IN COCKPIT brings up the MAP screen with the Asset focused in the center of the map. 3 MAP SCREEN The Map Screen is where users will be able to view all position reports from their Member devices on the Map. 4 ADDING BOOKMARKS Users now have the ability to add bookmarks to the SCC Tactical Application. Bookmarks allow the user to cache an area of the Map so that the user is able to quickly jump between different areas of operation without having to use the touch screen. To add a new Bookmark, first open the Labels Menu followed by the Controls Tab. Centre the Map on the area that you wish to Bookmark and them select ADD. Enter a name for the Bookmark and click ADD in the newly opened Window. Please also note the addition of the control buttons, which can be used to navigate the map without the use of a finger on the screen. 8

5 ADDING POI a Private POI Users can add POI markers to the Map screen by adding them from the Labels menu, under the C2 Tab. User can create private POI s that only they will be able to view on there device. To add a private POI follow the steps below. 1) Tap on the Map where the user would like to place the POI. 2) Click the ADD button under POI Management, enter a name and confirm the coordinates of the POI. 3) Select the type of POI and the Icon. 4) Include an annotation to the POI if required. 5) Select the Private POI option then when finished click the ADD button and the POI will be placed on the Map. 6 POI Sync With the release of version users have the ability to sync POI s from their SCC Tactical applications up to the SCC Titan platform. To create a sync POI a user will follow the previous steps in creating a private POI. Instead of selecting a private POI in the last step users will select the SYNC option. Once the user creates their synced POI, the POI icon will remain a grey pending box until it is accepted or declined on the platform. For more information on accepting and declining POI s please see the SCC Titan user manual. 9

If a POI is accepted on the platform the POI icon will change from the grey pending box to the correct POI shape. A user can recognize that it has been accepted by the white line beside the POI name, and the proper NATO shape for the POI on the map. If a POI is declined on the platform the POI icon will change to the correct POI shape. Declined POI s will change to private POI s on the creator s Tactical device. Private POI s will have a grey bar beside the POI s name to show that they are private POI s. 10

Users can check on the status of synced POI s in the SYNC tab. User can click through the sync history to see what time the tactical device received information regarding if a POI was accepted, declined, edited or deleted. Users can also request a sync by pressing the SYNC button. This will send a request to the platform to check if any POI status can be updated. All POI s that remain pending will be hidden from the display when the tactical application is closed. Once the user accept/declines the POI on platform, it will re-appear on the users POI menu and Map. 11

7 ADDING GEOFENCES Users can add Geofences to the Tactical Application from the Labels Menu, under C2 then the Geofence Tab. Once finished click the save button. Please note that Geofences created on the SCC Tactical Application will not trigger alarms or alerts on the SCC Titan Platform. At this time Geofences created in Tactical can only be used to monitor and visualize inclusive and exclusive areas at the Tactical Level. 12

8 GEO SYNC With the release of version users have the ability to sync Geofences down from the SCC Titan Platform to their SCC Tactical applications. In the labels Menu users will see a new tab labeled Sync. From this menu users will be able to manually request a sync with the SCC Tian Platform, view the Sync History to their device, and also access the details of which Geofences were synced and their status (Added, Edited and Deleted) The sync button will request a new sync be made with the SCC Titan Platform, while all changes to geofences are synced automatically, users can use this function if they have lost Iridium connection during a sync to restart the process. 13

When syncs are completed to the Tactical Device, users can view the history of all syncs made with their device as well as the details of each sync. Details include a timestamp from the sync as well as the status of the geofence in the sync, whether it was created, edited, or deleted from the SCC Titan Platform. Contacts Assets column on left Message History center pane 16

Canned Messages scroll box Free Text field pane 10.1 CONTACTS The Contacts pane contains a list of contacts that you can communicate with. These are split into three groups; assets, asset groups and users. These contacts are updated from the Master Data File found on the SCC Platform Advanced. The Master Data file can be uploaded onto the Asset via the T24 Defence Device Utility MESSAGE HISTORY The Message History pane displays the message history of the contact that was last selected in the Contacts pane. You may also attach a.txt file to a message to be received on the SCC Titan Platform. Only.txt files can be sent using Tactical, there is no size limit however large files will impact both the time required to send the message and Iridium Data usage. T24 Defence recommends keeping attached.txt files under 3kb. When sending a message, the Tactical Application will attempt 5 times to send the message. If unsuccessful after these attempts the message will fail indicated by a red X next to the message on the right side of the messaging window. Note: All assets selected will appear highlighted in the blue left column, also the contacts selected will appear at bottom of the message pane, below the free text field box). 17
