1 QUICK START GUIDE RECKON ACCOUNTS HOSTED

2 What s New in Reckon Accounts Hosted The following are the changes to note for Reckon Accounts Hosted. There is no software to install. Therefore, you do not need to install the Citrix Receiver or use the RICC. Supported web browsers; Chrome 34+, Safari 5+, Firefox 29+, Internet Explorer 10+, Opera 12+. My Live (Q) drive holds all your working files, e.g. QBW, Accountants Copy, EMPDUPE, TPAR, Excel, Word, PDF etc. A new My Backup (B) drive holds all your QBB and QBM files. DO NOT save any other files to your B: drive. IMPORTANT: We cannot guarantee the availability of any file that has NOT been saved to your Q: and B: drives. Data saved to any other location will be DELETED when you end your Accounts Hosted session. Your local computer drives and printers are no longer visible from Reckon Accounts Hosted. Upload and Download buttons provide an easier way to move files between your local machine and Accounts Hosted. There is now a clipboard function in most browsers, excluding Internet Explorer. You can use the clipboard to copy from your local PC to the Hosted environment. In Internet Explorer, you can use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. When you upload a file it will be saved to Q:\Upload. When you upload a backup file, it will automatically be saved to your B: drive. There are no physical printers available. All print jobs will print to the Reckon Printer as a PDF. You can then save and view the PDF using your local PDF reader and print it on your local printer. Loan Manager, Cash Flow Projector and Business Planner are no longer available. You cannot launch Microsoft Word or Excel from your Accounts Hosted session. When you write a letter, you are prompted to save the file to your Q: drive. If you are writing a letter to multiple customers/suppliers/employees/other names, all letters will be saved in the one Word document. 2

3 Quick Start Guide You cannot customise the new letter template. You cannot create envelopes. When you export a report to Excel, it will prompt you to save as XLS to your Q: drive. Please keep an eye on the Community for new videos and discussions on Hosted. Any queries, please contact Reckon. Things to note on first login The following are things you should note before logging in to Reckon Accounts Hosted for the first time. Please remove all previous bookmarks and web shortcuts. You no longer need to enter qbi/ before their Customer ID to log in. If you are using Internet Explorer, please remove the Compatibility settings. If you leave Reckon Accounts Hosted unattended, it will timeout after 2 hours of being idle. Accessing Reckon Accounts Hosted After you have purchased Reckon Accounts Hosted you now have access to gain the many benefits this application has to offer. To access Reckon Accounts Hosted: A Open your Internet Browser, go to hosted.reckon.com 3

4 B Enter your current Customer ID and Password and click Login. If this is the first time you are logging in to Reckon Accounts Hosted, you will be asked to create a username. Once you have created a username you can use it to log in to Reckon Accounts Hosted. 4 C Enter your chosen username and click Continue. If this username already exists you have to enter a new username. If you have BankData you can use the same username.

5 Quick Start Guide The following are the requirements for usernames: Only alphanumeric characters are accepted. No spaces are allowed. Minimum of 3 characters. Maximum of 20 characters. IMPORTANT: If you have an accountant create your account for you, please make sure that you change your password once you have access to your file. The Reckon Accounts Hosted Dashboard opens. D Click the LAUNCH APPLICATION button to access Reckon Accounts Hosted. 5

6 The Dashboard The Reckon Accounts Hosted Dashboard is where you can access the Control Panel and view your backup log. The Control Panel You can use the Control Panel to access your user management, account administration, file management and system maintenance. To access your Control Panel, simply click Control Panel from the Reckon Accounts Hosted Dashboard. 6

7 View backup log The backup log shows you all the backups that you have done in Reckon Accounts Hosted to your B: drive. Click View backup log to open this log. Check your internet speed The internet speed test will measure your connection speed to Reckon s server. It should take no more than 30 seconds to completed. A Click Check your internet speed. B Click Check your internet speed again. C Once the test is complete, click Close. 7
