Overview Microsoft SharePoint has been adopted by companies worldwide for knowledge capture, collaboration, and document storage. Some of these organizations have been unable to take full advantage of Microsoft SharePoint because of its file size and repository size limitations, and variable performance transferring large files and data sets over wide area networks. IBM Aspera for Microsoft SharePoint enables organizations to quickly, predictably, and securely store and access high volumes of large files in Microsoft SharePoint. Aspera has seamlessly integrated the patented Aspera FASP transfer technology into Microsoft SharePoint document upload and download workflows. Using Aspera, users can not only overcome the file size and repository size limitations of Microsoft SharePoint, they also can transfer files in to and out of Microsoft SharePoint at much higher speeds with auditable and predictable results. Aspera for Microsoft SharePoint also empowers users to take advantage of Microsoft SharePoint document management capabilities for files that may be distributed on multiple file systems. Uploaded documents appear in document libraries and are accessible through hyperlinks. Upload individual files or whole directories; directory structures will be automatically created inside the Microsoft SharePoint document library. Leverage existing Active Directory, Microsoft SharePoint permissions, and Document Libraries. Supports SharePoint check in and check out workflow to facilitate document collaboration. There are no limits on file sizes, eliminating Microsoft SharePoint's 2 GB file size limitation. There are no limits on the number of files and total repository size. Users can easily transfer entire directories containing thousands of files and subdirectories into Microsoft SharePoint. Users get extraordinary bandwidth control with preset or on-the-fly management. Aspera for SharePoint allows for the flexibility to store data into any repository a user chooses and files may be encrypted throughout the transfer process. Store uploaded data on distributed file systems and separate stored files from Microsoft SharePoint SQL Server databases. 3 Aspera Console allows administrators to monitor and manage Aspera transfers within your environment, including transfers of data through Aspera for Microsoft SharePoint. Aspera's rich SDKs offer numerous routes for controlling and initiating transfers with mobile, web, and desktop customization that can enhance the Microsoft SharePoint workflow. IBM Aspera Enterprise Server Aspera Enterprise Server is a versatile server application that accommodates an unlimited number of concurrent users who can upload files of any size using Aspera's desktop or mobile clients, or custom applications that use Aspera's embedded client. Server administrators can view and control transfer queue in real time, adjust aggregate or per transfer bandwidth on the fly, and configure per user access and transfer settings. IBM Aspera Connect Server Aspera Connect Server extends Aspera Enterprise Server functionality with web enablement technology, giving any web application the ability to facilitate highspeed FASP transfers. Users initiate transfers through Aspera Connect Server's webbased directory, mobile devices, or custom web applications that use the Aspera Connect API. A simple, self-installing browser plug-in performs the transfers from clients to the server, independent of the browser and without choking off other IP traffic. IBM Aspera Point-to-Point Client Aspera Point-to-Point desktop transfer client extends the IBM Aspera Desktop Client with user accounts for transfer and administration, the ability to connect to other point-to-point clients, and remote control by IBM Aspera Console. The client interface provides easy navigation and drag-and-drop transfer initiation. The transfer job queue shows real-time progress and allows on-the-fly reordering and bandwidth control. IBM Aspera Console Aspera Console is a web-based management application that provides complete visibility over your Aspera high-speed transfer environment, enables real-time, centralized control over transfers, nodes and users, and maintains comprehensive logging for customized reports and auditing. With Aspera Console, administrators can initiate, manage, and monitor all Aspera transfers between transfer servers and managed transfer clients across a wide area network (WAN), including realtime notification, logging, and reporting capabilities, while maintaining a centralized transfer history database for detailed auditing and historical reporting. From the Aspera Console, users can also automate file transfers, including multisite synchronization with Aspera Sync and full business process orchestration with Aspera Orchestrator.
