5 The Live elearning Interface cont The Interface Panels Participants Panel Displays the names of the participants who have joined the training session. Chat Panel Enables you to chat with the entire group or privately with the instructor or another participant. The chat windows are monitored. Polling Panel The instructor may ask a question in the form of a poll. Simply read the question and select your response. Q&A Panel Enables you to ask questions to the group or privately to the instructor. Since the instructor may be busy presenting, they may not be able to respond immediately. Page 5 of 7
6 The Live elearning Interface cont Feedback Toolbar The Live elearning environment can be very challenging for an instructor. Unlike the classroom environment, they don t have the same opportunities to read body language cues. With the Live elearning interface you can provide feedback by clicking one of the icons on the Participants panel. The response icon appears to the right of your name. You can remove the icon by clicking it again. We thrive on feedback, so use these tools frequently. The Feedback Toolbar: Icon Method of use Click if the presenter asks for a show of hands in response to a question or if you have a question. Click to indicate yes in response to a question. Click to indicate no in response to a question. Click to indicate to the presenter to slow down his or her pacing. Click to indicate to the presenter to speed up his or her Pacing. Click to open the Emoticons palette on which you can use an emoticon to express yourself. Click the icon to clear all feedback (attendee only). Be Engaged Unless you notify the instructor, they don t know what you need. Raise your hand, ask questions, and be interactive and engaged throughout the session. Be Warned! When you click away from the Webex screen, a little icon appears next to your name notifying the instructor that you re no longer giving them your full attention. If this happens, be prepared that the next person they ask to answer a question will likely be you! Page 6 of 7
7 The Live elearning Interface cont Annotation Toolbar In an online training session, you can use annotation tools on the content viewer area to highlight, explain, or point to information. Although these features are only available when they are enabled for the user (at the instructors discretion), we encourage you to use these tools to interact with the content. To activate the tool just click the icon and then click on the content viewer area to use it. The Basic Annotation Toolbar: Tool Icon Description Pointer Lets you point out text and graphics. The pointer displays an arrow with your name and annotation color. To display the laser pointer, which lets you point out text and graphics on shared content using a red laser beam, click the downward pointing arrow. Clicking this button again turns off the pointer tool. Text Lets you type text. Attendees can view the text once you finish typing it and click your mouse in the content viewer, outside the text box. Line Rectangle Highlighter Annotation Color Eraser To change the font, on the Edit menu, choose Font. Clicking this button again turns off the text tool. Lets you draw lines and arrows. For more options, click the downwardpointing arrow. Clicking this button closes the Rectangle tool. Lets you draw shapes, such as rectangles and ellipses. For more options, click the downward pointing arrow. Clicking this button again closes the Rectangle tool. Lets you highlight text and other elements. For more options, click the downward pointing arrow. Clicking this button again closes the Highlighter tool Displays the Annotation Color palette, on which you can select a color to annotate. Clicking this button again closes the Annotation Color palette. Erases text and annotations or clears pointers. To erase a single annotation, click it in the viewer. For more options, click the downwardpointing arrow. Clicking this button again turns off the eraser tool. Page 7 of 7
