1 New installation local
2 General information ELBA/Telebanking provides the possibility to administrate your important and personal financial data. Therefore please make sure that you always have a up-to-date backup of your data, especially when you are installing a newer version. In case of unforseen errors which may occur in the course of a setup your data are protected. Users who are not yet familiar with the product will find helpful information in the documentation first steps. Information to all functions and to the program flow are detailed described in the Online Help [F1]. Please also keep in mind the technical requirements for ELBA5/Telebanking. Your data (disposer, accounts, turnovers, users,...) are saved in the file elba5.db (= working database). You will receive the turnovers to your accounts in the course of the communication to the bank server. All account statements which are already closed will be deleted from the bank server after a while, afterwards they are only saved in your working database elba5.db or in your archive database (archiv.db). Never delete your elba5.db or your archiv.db when you do not have a data backup. Please execute the installations exactly according to the installation instructions. You can call the instructions during the installation over the button [F1]. The installation of ELBA covers several steps. In general you can reach the following setup dialogue with the button <Next> and the previous setup dialogue with the button <Previous>. With the button <Cancel> you can abandon the setup at any step. Already created temporary files will then be deleted and ELBA will not be installed. ELBA/Telebanking is certified by "a.trust" as electronic service, which creates secure 'digital signatures' according to the 'Austrian signature law' (SigG). This certification refers to the function digital signature. Further information please find here:
3 New installation (local installation) For the installation of this program you require the following data: Licensing number (optional - depending on bank) Communication authorisation and password (can be found in the password document) Disposer and PIN (can be found in the PIN document) Access data to the bank server (can be found in the password document) At a local installation, the program directories as well as the data directories will be installed on local drives of your computer. Selecting a network drive is possible, for network installations we recommend using the Network Setup. IN NO WAY, install the program files on your lokal drive and the database and all other Electronic Banking files on a server! Start setup 1. Close all other Windows applications before starting the setup. 2. Start the installation by double-clicking on the adequate setup file. 3. The installation is being prepared. 4. Select the language version you want to install (German or English) and confirm with <OK>. Welcome window Via the <Instruction> button you can call the installation instruction. These documents support you during the installation of ELBA 5. The installation instruction can also be called with the key [F1] at all times. Continue the installation with <Next>. Choose Install Set Select "New installation" by clicking on blue) and confirm with <Next>. (installation identifier will be depicted in Important information General information to a new installation are displayed in the following dialogue. Read this information carefully and confirm with <Next>.
4 Licensing 5. Select the "Licensing bank" from the list box "Bank". 6. According to your selection the first part of the licensing number is given. The rest needs to be added according to your password document (without slashes and hyphens) after successful installation in the course of user-login. 7. Change to the field "Registered for:" with the tabulator key, record your (firm's) name and confirm with <Next>. Specify program directory Enter the directory in which you wish to install your Electronic Banking application. All program files and the Java Runtime are stored in the program directory. The program directory (C:\Programme\ELBA5 or C:\Program Files\ELBA5) is proposed by default. This directory will also be proposed after clicking the <Restore Default> button. If you wish to define another directory for the installation, enter the desired path or call up the "File search" dialogue with the <Choose...> button. Select the desired file and confirm with <OK>. If you wish to install the program into a new folder, first mark the superordinate drive with <Choose...>, confirm with <OK> and then complete the path manually. Please make sure, that the installation path does not contain umlauts or special characters! By default, the data directory is given "for all users". If this directory is only valid for the "logged in user", please activate the respective radio button. Continue the installation with <Next>. Specify data directories Depending on the selection for the program directory (for all users/for the logged in user), the directories for the database (elba5.db) and/or the variable Electronic Banking data (export data, log files, request/reply files and properties files) are given as follows: For Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ELBA5\ELBA_data (for the variable data), resp. "...\db" (for the database). For Windows Vista/Windows 7: C:\ProgramData\ELBA5\ELBA_data (for the variable data) resp. "...\db" (for the database)
5 Analogously to the program directory you can change the default directories for the database and/or the variable Electronic Banking data (export data, log files, request/reply files and properties files) manually or by clicking <Choose...>. Especially for Windows Vista/Windows 7 we recommend using the suggested directories. ATTENTION: On selection of network drives, the manufacturer of the database does not take any guarantee for proper functioning. In case of network installations, please use the network setup. FOR NO REASONS, install the program data locally and the database or the other Electronic Banking data on the server! Proceed with the button <Next>. Choose shortcut folder At this point you define where the shortcut to the program is to be filed on your computer. Activate the radio button at the desired position: In a new Program Group: You can select any name for the new program group (e.g. "ELBA5..."). In the future, the program call will take place with the button <Start> >> Program files >> ELBA5.... In an existing Program Group: You can select an already available program group from the listbox. In the future, the program call will take place with the button <Start> >> Program files >> ELBA5.... In the Start Menu: The "ELBA5" connection recorded in the start menu is only visible to the current user. In the future, the program call will take place with the button <Start>/ELBA5. On the Desktop: The "ELBA5" connection is recorded on the desktop of the current user. In the future, the program call will take place with a double-click on the Electronic Banking symbol on your desktop. If you activate the option "Create Icons for All Users", the Electronic Banking symbol is available on the desktop of each user. In the Quick Launch Bar: The Electronic Banking symbol is depicted in the therefore designated part of the tool bar. In the future, the program call will take place with a click on this symbol. Other: With the <Choose...> button you reach your file overview and can select an existing file or create a new one. In the future, the program call will take place with this file. Don't create icons: In this case you start the program by executing the ELBA5.exe file in the ELBA program directory. Then click on <Next>. Specify additional shortcut location
6 This dialogue window will only be displayed if the following options were NOT activated: On the Desktop In the Start Menu Don't create icons Here you can define additional shortcut positions for the program call to the already specified ones. 8. On the Desktop 9. In the Start Menu If the option "Create Icons for All Users" is activated, the new options will be available for all users. Execute the button <Next> for reviewing the summary. Pre-Installation summary Before the actual installation procedure, your details will again be displayed in a summary. If necessary, you can call the previous setup window with the <Back> button and change your entries. At the end of the summary you get a disk space information (required and available disk space of the installation target). Click on <Install> to start the installation. Installation procedure The program will now be installed into the previously given directories. A bar shows the extent of the procedure. End setup After all files are copied onto your computer, the setup is complete. End the installation procedure with <Done>. Files that were placed temporarily on your hard disk for the installation procedure are then deleted and the installation instruction opened before is closed. To ensure being up-to-date especially in case short-dated, urgent service releases have been provided, updates will also be searched in the course of a new installtion. The additional installation will be executed in the background when indicated. A message informs you, that the program version and database version do not match. Therefore it is necessary to update the database. Continue with <Start update>. 10.At first you are asked to execute a data backup. 11.Due to the fact that in course of a new installation no individual data exist, please click on <Continue without data backup>. 12.The database update will be executed automatically. 13.Confirm the message database update has been carried out successfully with the
7 button <OK>. Afterwards please complete the license number according to your password documents (without slash/hyphen) and confirm with <OK>. Due to the potentical installation of updates, now a dabase regorganisation will be executed as well. Save he received PDF-file which informs you about the latest program innovations to your desktop. After the complete installation, the program and the assistant check list are started automatically. From this time on, also a comprehensive ONLINE Help is available, which you can call with the [F1] key. Use this help information for the following steps: user login and system assistant. The default password for your user and the user SYSADMIN must be changed at the first login. Important security advices for the allocation of passwords: 14.Choose a secure as possible password by combining letters and numbers in the password! General password settings can be changed in the System settings. 15.Please make sure that nobody watches you while entering/assigning your login data! 16.Please do not write down your login data and thus make them available for other persons. Note: After installation on Windows Vista full access of the program directory and the possibly chosen data directory will be granted automatically to all users who are allowed to logon to this computer.
8 Replace an existing version (local installation) Like for the installation of every software, you should carry out a general backup of your Electronic Banking data before installing a new program version. If complications should arise during the setup, you are therefore protected against personal data loss with a previous backup copy. Since the new database version Sybase 12 was fundamentally changed in its structure compared to versions 5.3.x, you have to use the data backup which was automatically created during this update installation. Former backups can only be restored if they were at least created with ELBA version 5.3.3/Service Release 4. All other backups cannot be restored again. It is required to run the installation on Windows Vista as Administrator! Start setup 17.Close all other Windows applications before starting the setup. 18.Start the installation by double-clicking on the adequate setup file. 19.The installation is being prepared. 20.Select the language version you want to install (German or English) and confirm with <OK>. 9 Important information General information to the update installation are displayed in the following dialogue. Read this information carefully and confirm with <Next>. Searching/Choose... Select the directory, which holds the ELBA5.lax file of the installation to be replaced. By default all in "C:\Program Files\" found ELBA5.lax-files are proposed. Mark the appropriate entry in the list and click on <Next>. If there is no appropriate entry available, click on <Choose other>. At this point add the remaining path manually or search the ELBA5.lax file in the ELBA directory via the <Choose> button. Mark the appropriate entry, confirm with <Open> and click on <Next>. (By clicking the <Restore Default File> button, the default path will be inserted again.) Pre-installation Summary Before the actual installation procedure, your details will again be displayed in a summary. If necessary, you can call the previous setup window with the <Previous> button and change your entries. Start the update with <Next>. Installation The program is now being installed. During the first update to version 5.5.0, an automatic data backup (elbn.ebk) will be created in the "ELBA5\db\update\" directory. End the update with <Done> in the window "Install complete". If you have carried out the update from version 5.4.x the database structure will be adjusted to Sybase 12 in the course of this update to version This process will run in the background and can take, depending on the database size, up to some time. Afterwards the user login will be displayed automatically. Following, log into the program as usual. Did you have a user-password which consisted of more than 8 digits in version 5.3.x now please record only the first 8 digits in the login-dialogue. After successful login adjust the system settings according to the subsequent guidelines. If you log in with a user which has the password "ELBA" or "ELBAW", you are asked to change this password after clicking <OK>. All other backups cannot be restored again. 24.A message informs you that the program version and the database version are not identical. It is therefore necessary to update the database. Continue with <Start update>. 25.Before the database update you will be reminded to execute the data backup (closer information with the [F1] key). Have your backup media ready. During the update installation to version you will be forced to execute the data backup. 26.Confirm the message "The database was stored successfully" with <OK>. 27.You are still located in the "Data backup" dialogue. The note "Database is started" briefly appears. End the data backup with <Close>. 28.Afterwards, the database update will be executed automatically. According to the size of your database this may take some minutes. 29.Confirm the message "The database update was successfully completed" with <OK>. An message informs you about changes in your samples and orders according to SEPA. If an internet-connection is existing, your standard browser will be opened and the news for version will be shown automatically - provided that your licensing bank has released this function. If there is no internet-connection existing, no window with this news will be opened. Finishing, please start a broadcast call to your licensing bank. In this process, the current product key of ELBA/Telebanking will be imported and you can work with the new version.
11 Data backup You administrate a great deal of important (personal) data in your program. This data should certainly be saved regularly, because through current failure, lightning or other system problems your hardware and software can be damaged. The recovery of these data is therefore only possible with a current backup because your data (e.g. account statements) are only made available for a relatively short period of time on the bank server. If you undertake data backups on external data mediums, you should label them exactly and exchange them regularly to avoid reading errors. You can also safeguard your backups by immediately restoring the backup. In case of a program update, make a backup BEFORE and AFTER the update. On no account import a data backup from an older version to your current version! In thesystem >> Data backup... menu you will find the information for: Storing a data backup Restoring a data backup Backup information (time of backup, file size) Automatic data backup Storing a data backup As a standard procedure you will be reminded to make a data backup every 7 days. You can set this backup interval in thesystem >> System settings... >> Storage menu to: "daily" "every xx days" or "never" (if your entire computer data are saved daily on a server). As soon as you confirm the reminder with <Yes>, the "Data backup..."/tab "Store" dialogue window is opened automatically. You have, however, the possibility to start the data backup yourself at all times: 30.System >> Data backup... menu. 31.You reach the tab "Store" in the "Data backup" dialogue window automatically. The following information is displayed here: The databases e.g. C:\Users\All Users\Application data\elba5\db\elba5.db C:\Users\All Users\Application data\elba5\db\archiv.db will be stored to At this point you must enter the correct path for your data backup. By default, the "backup" folder in the ELBA5 data directory will be proposed. If this directory
12 does not exist at the very first backup, you can create it in this course. Confirm with <Start>. 32.If there are already data in the given directory, you receive a message that the data will be overwritten. Click <Yes> to continue. 33.Now, an online backup of the database will be created. 34.Confirm the information "Data backup successfully completed" with <OK>. Check the backup data in the "Information" tab and close the dialogue window. Restoring a data backup Due to structural changes of the new database versions compared to former Sybase versions (ELBA ), you can only use the data backup which was created during this update installation. Former backups can only be restored if they were at least created with ELBA version 5.3.3/Service Release 4. All other backups cannot be restored again. Select this option if you wish to recover your database (e.g. after a new installation on a new computer). 35.Enter the directory of the stored data backup (by default C:\Program Files\ELBA5\backup) in the field "Restore backup from". 36.The backup procedure begins as soon as you confirm with <Start>. Insert the next diskettes as requested. 37.The backup ends with the information "Data backup successfully completed".. 38.Click on <OK> to close the dialogue. Attention Network installation / MULTIUSER: Note, that there is a different flow of data restoring for network installations. The data backup must be restored directly on the server: 39.Stop the database service. 40.Start the DASI.exe (to be found in the ELBA5 directory) manually with a doubleclick. 41.Then execute points 1-4 as described at "Restoring a data backup". Backup information If you would like to execute a data backup onto external devices, these devices need to be connected to your system in case you would like to review the backup-info of the respective backup files. You will find details of your data backup under "Information": Path and file name of the data backup file (stored to) -...elbn.ebk Path and file name of the backed up file (what was backed up) -
13 ...db\elba5.db Size of the database in megabytes Time of the last backup (date, time) Via the <Hotline tool> button you reach the dialog to select the data which are needed by your hotline. For more informaion see: Hotline tool.
14 Uninstall ELBA5 Serveral file operations which take place during the installation have been recorded related to a later required "uninstall operation". To uninstall ELBA5 from your PC click on the shortcut ELBA5 Uninstall in the program group of the windows start menu. Alternatively you can execute the file Uninstall ELBA5.exe in your windows explorer, which is located in the sub-directory "Uninstaller Data" of your ELBA5 directory. Note: 42.Start your operation as mentioned above. 43.Afterwards click on the button <Uninstall>. All files created during the installation will be deleted. The following directories/files, 44. which have been created after the installation, will not get deleted: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application data\db\archiv.db C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Applicaton data\elba_data\backup\elbn.ebk. 45.Finally click on <Done>. 46.For removing the ELBA5-directory too, move it to the trash manually. In case of reinstallation, the at point 3. mentioned directoriwes have to be deleted manually at first (Remove it to another directory or delete it, if the archive database or data backup-file is not required any more).
