5 Release Highlights This release contains the following items: Fault fixes Full details of these changes are included within this document. Prerequisites Installing CCH Central and Workflow Service Pack This release is installed using the Central Suite Installer. This ensures that all prerequisites are in place and that all the products for which you are licenced are installed in the correct sequence. Quality Improvements CCH Central The following quality issues were resolved in CCH Central Service Pack: ITS Bulk Update: Associations - Unable to select inverted relationship Previously, when bulk updating the Associated field for Clients or Contacts, the Inverted Relationship could not be selected from the Values tab within the Bulk Update Wizard. ITS HTML merges not being stored in Document Management The release prevented HTML merges from being stored within Document Centre, where the user ticked to Add to CCH Document Management, this has been resolved in this release. However, please note that the resulting stored is a draft copy of the that is generated to be sent via Outlook. CCH Central is currently unable to integrate with the Outlook sent items to automatically retrieve the sent . Therefore, the stored within CCH Document Management is not evidence that the was dispatched. If you wish to have the sent s stored within CCH Document Management when performing HTML Merges, choose Outlook at stage 2 of 6, do not tick the Add to CCH Document Management option at stage 6 of 6, then file the resulting s stored in Outlooks Sent Items via the CCH Filing plugin. Alternatively use SMTP as the method of sending. CCH Workflow The following quality issues were resolved in CCH Workflow Service Pack: ITS Workflow step cannot be progressed if the name is longer than 50 characters Previously, if the name of a workflow step had more than 50 characters, the step could not be progressed within the Workflow Home Page control. ITS The Create Document activity throws System.IO errors when multiple workflows create the same document in quick succession Previously, if a workflow that contained the Create Document activity as the first step was bulk started, random instances of the workflow returned a System.IO error related to the document template not being present. This issue occurred because the previous process downloaded the template, created the document, then deleted the template. As the workflow was bulk started, the downloaded template for the next instance always overwrites the previous instances downloaded files. In this release, the issue has been resolved by renaming the template on download and appending a unique value per workflow instance to the file name. CCH CENTRAL AND WORKFLOW SERVICE PACK 2

9 Release Highlights This release provides a new entity for the purpose of generating LLP FRS105 accounts. The new master pack includes: Statutory Accounts Dormant Accounts Management Accounts ixbrl tags Tax link Ability to file electronically with Companies House (subject to the necessary CCH ixbrl Review & Tag licence) Conversion from FRSSE LLP to FRS105 LLP during the year-end roll forward Hint: make sure you have published master pack 1.00 before you try to convert any existing FRSSE LLPs during the year end. You can publish the master pack in the Maintenance> Accounts > Master Pack Publish screen. There are no other master pack changes, software enhancements or quality improvements included. Therefore if you do not require the ability to product LLP FRS105 accounts, there is no need to install this service pack. The next planned release of CCH Accounts Production is in July SERVICE PACK 1 JUNE 2017

10 Prerequisites Installing CCH Accounts Production Service Pack 1 This release is installed using the Central Suite Installer. This ensures that all prerequisites are in place and that all the products for which you are licenced are installed in the correct sequence. You can find out more about the Central Suite Installer here: Note: The Group, Charity, LLP, Academy, Farm, IFRS, CLG, Pension and Medical master packs will be visible to all users. These master packs are separately licensed and if you wish to use them you should ensure your current license agreement permits you to use them. If you are unsure, or if you have not purchased these master packs, please contact your Account Manager prior to using them. If you create an accounting period using a master pack for which you are not licenced for, the following message will be displayed: SERVICE PACK 1 JUNE

Legislative & Compliance Updates 1.1 Master Pack updates The Service Pack 1 release provides one new master pack: LLP (FRS 105) pack 1.00 The above master pack will be installed in a "draft" state initially. The changes they contain will therefore not impact your accounts until the Master Pack has been "published". This can be done via Maintenance > Accounts > Master Pack Publish. Hint - If you prefer, this process may be automated for future releases via Maintenance > Accounts > Auto Publish (Classic toolbar mode) or via File > Maintenance > Accounts > Auto Publish (Ribbon toolbar mode) Hint - If this is the first time you have installed CCH Accounts Production, all Master Packs will automatically be published LLP (FRS 105) Master Pack 1.00 The new pack includes: Statutory Accounts Dormant Accounts Management Accounts ixbrl tags Tax link Ability to file electronically with Companies House (subject to the necessary CCH ixbrl Review & Tag licence) Conversion from FRSSE LLP to FRS105 LLP at the year-end roll forward Further guidance for producing LLP FRS105 accounts is available in the LLP FRS105 User Guide document, available from the Product Release page on the Support website SERVICE PACK 1 JUNE 2017

12 2. Known Issues General The ability to move from FRS105 LLP to FRS102 LLP, or vice versa, as part of the year end roll forward will be provided in the release. Statutory Data base Size and Audit node balance of Gross Assets will not be displayed. This will always show as - and will be rectified in a future release. ixbrl tagging ITS Debtors Note (Debtors falling due after more than one year) There is an issue in the tagging of the Debtors falling due after more than one year and we have detailed below how to correct and clear the Exception Error as follows: 1. Double click on the error 2. Click on the Amounts falling due within one year total line 3. Tick the Current financial instruments 4. Repeat these steps for the Comparative year also SERVICE PACK 1 JUNE

13 5. Go to the Taxonomy now and right click on the Debtors Tag 6. Select Find Tag and select the Debtors on the Balance Sheet page 7. On the Balance Sheet Debtors, click on the tag 8. Tick the box for Total current and non-current financial instruments. 9. Repeat this for the Comparative year also SERVICE PACK 1 JUNE 2017

14 This Exception Error will now be corrected. ITS/ Creditors: amounts falling due within one year note There is a tagging error on the Note Creditors: amounts falling due within one year whereby the total columns for both Current year and Comparative year on the SCE note are incorrectly tagged with the Other Creditors tag instead of the Creditors tag. To correct this issue please follow the steps below: 1. Double click on the error displayed 2. Right click on the Total column and Locate Tag 3. Right click again on the Total column and delete tag(s) from the total column 4. On the taxonomy scroll up to the Creditors tag SERVICE PACK 1 JUNE

15 5. Drag and drop the Creditors tag onto the total amount 6. Then tick the Dimension Current financial instruments SERVICE PACK 1 JUNE 2017

16 Repeat these steps above for the Comparative Year then: 7. Click on the down arrow on the Date Context 8. Select End of prior year SERVICE PACK 1 JUNE

17 The errors will no longer be displayed. ITS Abridged Accounts to Companies House. When you tick the Abridged option within the Statutory Database and perform the Review ixbrl for Small Company filing to Companies House the following error will be displayed: SERVICE PACK 1 JUNE 2017

18 To correct this issue please follow the steps below: 1. Key in 444 in the taxonomy search box to locate the correct Statement that should be used 2. Delete the tag that is currently on the Statement In accordance with section 444 of the Companies Act SERVICE PACK 1 JUNE

19 3. Drag and drop the correct tag onto the Statement This will correct the error and there will no longer be any Exception errors displayed SERVICE PACK 1 JUNE 2017

20 3. System Administrator Log into Central warning message In the a new validation check was introduced during the log in to Central. This check identifies if there are any orphaned records in the Document Store database which do not exist in the Central database. (This scenario might arise for example if the Central database was restored from a backup, without the same restore process being carried out to the Document Store database at the same time). If this scenario is detected, the following message will be displayed: Note the message will only be displayed on log in to super users/administrators. When you contact Support, they will send you a SQL query which will help us investigate the detail of the orphaned records and then can advise on the best way to proceed. A configuration key is available to turn off the warning message in the meantime if desired Option to hide or re-order entities Now that new FRS102 entities have been released, in some cases the old ukgaap version of that entity has no further use. You may wish to hide these old entities from the maintenance screens and also the client creation screen within the application, to avoid the risk that work is carried out in the wrong entity. These can be un-hidden again if necessary and any existing accounting periods that use a hidden entity will continue to be visible and accessible. To hide an entity, open Maintenance > Accounts > Entities, and tick the hidden field SERVICE PACK 1 JUNE

21 3.1.3 New Task Permissions There are no new task permissions in this release Configuration Keys Configuration keys to access specific entities Some of the master packs available within the application are hidden unless a certain configuration key is entered. This may be done in Maintenance > User Defined > Configuration. Once entered, you must log off and back in to Central to activate the new configuration. The following Master Packs are controlled in this way: IFRS (create configuration key AccountsShowIFRSEntity, Value = 1) Medical (create configuration key AccountsShowMedicalEntity, Value = 1) Pension (create configuration key AccountsShowPensionEntity, Value = 1) FRS102 Consolidation (create configuration key AccountsShowConsolidationFRS102Entity, Value = 1) FRS102 Charity (create configuration key AccountsShowCharityFRS102Entity, Value = 1) SERVICE PACK 1 JUNE 2017

24 Release Highlights Included in this release of Corporation Tax are: 2016 Versions of Corporation Tax and FRC DPL Taxonomies Auto selection of the correct Taxonomy on roll forward Prerequisites Installing CCH Corporation Tax Service Pack 1 This release is installed using the Central Suite Installer. Legislative & Compliance Updates Taxonomies Corporation Tax Computation Taxonomy We have included the new CT-COMP Taxonomy; this is automatically applied for Accounting Periods commencing on or after 1 April If you have generated a Corporation Tax computation, the taxonomy is automatically updated. In addition if a DPL has been included, it is also automatically updated. HMRC did implement the new taxonomy early and this has meant that some cases have failed validation. These cases may now be filed Detailed Profit and Loss taxonomies The Detailed Profit and Loss now incorporates the latest taxonomies for IFRS, FRS101 and FRS102. It is now possible to submit tagged Detailed Profit & Loss accounts within the corporation tax computation. We have included the new DPL taxonomies effective for Accounting Periods commencing on or after 1 April 2016: The Taxonomies reflect the Accounting Principles under which the company accounts have been prepared. CT-COMP-FRS-101-DPL This relates to FRS 101 principles. CT-COMP-FRS-102-DPL This relates to accounts prepared under FRS 102 principles. CT-COMP-FULL-IFRS-DPL This relates to accounts prepared under IFRS principles. The new taxonomies replace the existing taxonomies when the Accounting Period commences on or after 1 April VERSION SERVICE PACK 1 MAY

26 1.1.3 Reporting As the upgrade is carried out automatically, to assist you in identifying customers that have been affected by the online validation failure where the Accounting Period commenced on or after 1 April 2016 we have included in CCH Reporting Corporation Tax Potential Taxonomy Change report. Quality Improvements 2.1 Script Error on Upgrade Some users have reported that on upgrade to they received the following script error: The ALTER TABLE statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_Submission_Submission". The conflict occurred in database "central", table "CT.AccountingPeriod", column 'AccountingPeriodId'. This did not affect all sites, for those sites that we affected a script was supplied to rectify the issue. This script has been added to this release. VERSION SERVICE PACK 1 MAY

Quality Improvements The following quality issues were resolved in CCH Document Management Service Pack: ITS The Create Document activity throws System.IO errors when multiple workflows create the same document in quick succession Previously, if a workflow that contained the Create Document activity as the first step was bulk started, random instances of the workflow returned a System.IO error related to the document template not being present. This issue occurred because the previous process downloaded the template, created the document, then deleted the template. As the workflow was bulk started, the downloaded template for the next instance always overwrites the previous instances downloaded files. In this release, the issue has been resolved by renaming the template on download and appending a unique value per workflow instance to the file name. ITS / Create Document not starting default template workflow / Create Document Windows Workflow Drop down displays a number Previously, if a user had the task permission #Document #Workflow OverrideDefault unticked, the Workflow field from the Create Document window was populated with a number instead of the workflow name and the workflow was not started on the created document. ITS Document Tasks Home Page Control - Auto Refresh on Task Completion to working correctly Previously, when a task was marked as completed from the Document Tasks Home Page control, the file was still displayed in the grid until the Home Page was manually refreshed, and when trying to open a document from the grid after a task was marked as completed, another random file from the list was opened instead. ITS/ Client Code with apostrophe - CCH Central crashes and closes when the Document Tasks homepage control is loaded Previously, if a document task was created on a client that had an apostrophe in the code, the Document Tasks Home Page control crashed when it was loaded and CCH Central was closed. ITS Document Tasks Homepage Control - Column sorting as if text fields, not by data type The release caused columns to be sorted incorrectly, as if they were text based columns instead of sorting by their data types of Date or Number, this has been resolved in this release. 36 1. Legislative & Compliance Updates 1.1 Data Entry R40 The updated R40 form dated 04/17 has been introduced for 2017 and 2018 repayment claims. NOTE: Dividend income from the R185S and R185T should now be reported in Boxes 4.11 and 4.12 of the Form R40. For estate income box 20should not be completed for 2016/17. This box reported distributions of income to beneficiaries that the Estate had received before 5 April 2008 that had basic rate tax of 22% deducted from it. This income is still required to be reported on the form SA107 and as a consequence we have not restricted data entry for this. 1.2 FTSE350 File The 2016/17 FTSE350 file is included in this release. 1.3 Average Exchange Rates The average exchange rates file is produced from the official HMRC average exchange rates. This file is now included in this release. 1.4 Updated Double Tax Treaty Rates The updated Double Tax treaty rates file is now included in this release /18 Rates and allowances The Individual and Trust computations have been updated to use 2017/18 rates and allowances. The 2018 changes to tax relief on Buy to Let Interest are not included in this release and the 2018 computation will need manual correction. 1.6 Form R185 Settlor The existing form dated 03/15 should be used for 2016/ Form R185 Trust Income The updated form dated 03/17 has been introduced for 2016/ Form R185 Estate Income The updated form dated 03/17 has been introduced for 2016/17. 37 2. Software Enhancements July Payment on Account Letter and Report The report and letter template for the production of the 31 July Payment on Account letters are included in this release. Please see the separate July Payments User Guide. 2.2 ITS Data Dictionary - Resident in the UK in Previous 3 Tax Years For tax years 2014 to 2016 the Residence, remittance basis etc. supplementary form (SA109) included Box 8 with description If you were resident in the UK in any of the previous three tax years, put X in the box. In 2017 HMRC removed this description from Box 8 on the form; as the taxpayer s residence in any of the three previous tax years may have an impact on the calculation of their days spent in the UK,(see Guidance note: Statutory Residence Test (SRT) RDR3 Page 33), it is therefore something that you may need to be report on. We have added a new item to the Data Dictionary for the Letter included as part of the Tax Return Bundle. Select Find Data and filter on Personal Tax Data Items a new entry, Resident in the UK in any of the previous three tax years appears for 2017 onwards: When including this data item within a Business Rule for a letter paragraph the system will automatically add a Start date of 06/04/2016 to that letter paragraph in the maintenance Letter paragraphs window. Note: The same is true where this data item is included within a Business Rule for a Disclosure Note added to the maintenance Disclosure Notes window. 3 VERSION SERVICE PACK 1 MAY 2017

Quality Improvements The following items have been rectified in this release: 3.1 Javascript error when accessing HMRC Portal Users have reported that when trying to access the HMRC Portal directly from within CCH Central, this worked on the first attempt, but on subsequent attempts the message Please enable Javascript was received. This has been rectified in this release. It is worth noting that in line with Microsoft guidelines, CCH only supports Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft withdrew support for IE10 in January ITS Business Rule on Letter Paragraph Is Lost When Next Letter Paragraph is created Where a letter paragraph with an associated business rule was entered in Maintenance > Tax settings > Personal Tax > Tax return bundle > Letter paragraphs and a second letter paragraph created using the New Paragraph window when clicking OK to close the New Paragraph window the business rule entered against the first letter paragraph disappeared. 3.3 ITS Unable to Delete 'Section break' on Maintenance 'Letter paragraphs' Window It was not possible to delete the Section break from Maintenance > Tax settings > Personal Tax > Tax return bundle > Letter paragraphs. 3.4 ITS Deleted Letter Paragraph Templates Reappear after Maintenance Window is Closed and Reopened Where a letter paragraph was deleted from the maintenance Letter paragraphs maintenance window, when selecting OK to close the window and then re-opening the Letter paragraphs maintenance window the paragraph reappeared. 3.5 ITS Deleting a Business Rule Driven Paragraph, Making Changes So the Paragraph No Longer Applies Then Not Saving Changes Generates Error Message An error message, Unable to save changes to letter paragraphs as changes have been made by another user, appeared in the following scenario: 1. When deleting a business rule generated letter paragraph in the Tax Return Letter Paragraphs window, 2. Change the source data so that the business rule no longer applies 3. Return to the client Letter Paragraphs window (to pick up the change) 4. Close the window where the source data was changed without saving the changes. VERSION SERVICE PACK 1 MAY

39 3.6 ITS Data Dictionary Field 'Unremitted income and gains under 2000' Returning 'True' For 2017 When It Should Return 'False' For 2017 where a client is claiming the remittance basis of taxation but their unremitted income and gains exceed 2,000 the business rule checking for the value in Box 28 on the Residence, remittance basis etc. supplementary page is returning True rather than False (it was picking up the value in Box 28 instead). This issue only affected 2017 Tax Returns and was introduced in It was affecting a number of fields from the Tax Return where the HMRC changed the box number for an item in 2014 but since then there was no change in the box number for that item. 3.7 Deletion of DM attachments after generation of IR Mark After attaching documents from CCH Document Management and generating the IR Mark, if the temporary folder is no longer accessible it is not possible to close the Online Filing window. 3.8 ITS Unable to remove plan type for Student Loans When removing the tick from Tick if liable to make Student Loan Repayments (Tax return other information > additional details) the plan type was retained causing a validation failure. 3.9 Locking message not appearing when multiple users access a client When connecting to a network database from a local machine with a local deploy folder, when multiple users tried to access the same Personal Tax Return the Client is Locked message was not appearing. 5 VERSION SERVICE PACK 1 MAY 2017

Quality Improvements 1.1 Timesheets ITS Unable to override charge rate It has been reported that since upgrading to , users were unable to override a charge rate set on existing lines within a timesheet. 1.2 Export to Accounts Production ITS Unable to update nominal mapping It has been reported that some sites have received the following message Unable to update nominal mapping main details when selecting a mapping file to use within the Export to Accounts Production. 1.3 Multicurrency ITS Assignment Billing default currency When performing assignment billing, it has been reported that the default currency set was not being honoured. 1.4 Upgrade script errors ITS Upgrade script error It has been reported that some sites received the following upgrade script error when upgrading from 2016 to A duplicate key value with Reporting.FieldMetaData with unique index SERVICE PACK MAY

46 Release Highlights This service pack is provided for compatibility with Corporation Tax and Accounts Production. For Corporation Tax, it provides the 2016 Taxonomies. For Accounts Production, it provides tagging of FRS105 LLP accounts. Prerequisites For sites with CCH Central Installing CCH ixbrl Review & Tag SP This release is installed using the Central Suite Installer. This ensures that all prerequisites are in place and that all the products for which you are licenced are installed in the correct sequence. You can find out more about the Central Suite Installer here: If you have installed Review &Tag on workstations, these will be automatically updated the first time that you launch the workstation instance of the software while connected to the network. 47 1. Compliance Updates 1.1 Companies House electronic filing of LLP Micro-Entities CCH Accounts Production has been updated to include accounts formats for LLP Micro-entities (FRS105). We have updated CCH Review & Tag to enable the electronic filing of these accounts. For accounts created in CCH Accounts Production the required options will be set automatically. If, however you are importing a Word/Excel document for LLP Micro accounts please ensure that the Taxonomy selected is FRS102 and the Entity type is set to LLP(Micro-entities). In Addition to this setting the correct Companies House Registration number prefix will need to be set in the Country of Incorporation drop down. England & Wales = OC Scotland = SO Northern Ireland = NC SP JUNE

48 The exception report has been updated with the new online filing requirements for electronic accounts submissions to Companies House. These are dependent on the entity type set within the document information screen along with additional tagged items within the accounts. 49 1.2 LLP FRS102 electronic submissions to Companies House Following recent changes to Companies House online filing arrangements Review & Tag has been enhanced to provide the ability to file accounts electronically for LLPs prepared using the FRS-102 taxonomy. To enable this facility it is important that the Entity type is set to LLP in the Document Information Screen. In Addition to this setting the correct Companies House Registration number prefix will need to be set in the Country of Incorporation drop down. England & Wales = OC Scotland = SO Northern Ireland = NC If preparing the accounts in CCH Accounts Production the manual application of tags will still be required within CCH ixbrl Review & Tag The exception report has been updated with the new online filing requirements for electronic accounts submissions to Companies House. Known Issues FRS105 LLP Accounts filing copy ixbrl Tagging Please note that if you choose not to file the full accounts at Companies House, when using CCH Review & Tag a validation error will be displayed. Simple steps to resolving this are: 1. Double click the error message to open the Taxonomy panel 2. Untick minimum tagging list to reveal the specific tag you need to apply 3. Left click and drag the tag Name Entity Officer from the Taxonomy panel onto the Signatory name on the face of the Balance Sheet. 4. Select the required Officer dimension on the Edit tag screen. 5. Repeat for any additional signatories on the Balance Sheet SP JUNE 2017

51 FRS 102 Accounts Filing Copy submission to Companies House If submitting the FRS102 small company Filing only copy from CCH Accounts Production to Companies House you may be presented with the following message. This is a known issue and you should click ok past this message to submit the files online. ITS/ Debtors Note (Debtors falling due after more than one year There is an issue in the tagging of Debtors falling due after more than one year and we have detailed below how to correct and clear the Exception Error as follows: 1. Double click on the error 2. Click on the Amounts falling due within one year total line 3. Tick the Current financial instruments 4. Repeat these steps for the Comparative year also SP JUNE

52 5. Go to the Taxonomy and right click on the Debtors Tag 6. Select Find Tag and select the Debtors on the Balance Sheet page 7. On the Balance Sheet Debtors, click on the tag. 8. Tick the box for Total current and non-current financial instruments. 9. Repeat this for the Comparative year also. This Exception Error will now corrected. ITS/ Creditors: amounts falling due within one year note There is a tagging error on the Note Creditors: amounts falling due within one year whereby the total columns for both Current year and Comparative year on the SCE note are incorrectly tagged with the Other Creditors tag instead of the Creditors tag. To correct this issue please follow the steps below: SP JUNE 2017

53 1. Double click on the error displayed 2. Right click on the Total column and Locate Tag 3. Right click again on the Total column and delete tag(s) from the total column 4. On the taxonomy scroll up to the Creditors tag SP JUNE

54 5. Drag and drop the Creditors tag onto the total amount. 6. Then tick the Dimension Current financial instruments. Repeat these steps above for the Comparative Year then: SP JUNE 2017

55 7. Click on the down arrow on the Date Context. 8. Select End of prior year. The errors will no longer be displayed. ITS/ Abridged Accounts to Companies House. When you tick the Abridged option within the Statutory Database in AP and perform the Review ixbrl for Small Company filing to Companies House, the following error will be displayed: To correct this issue please follow the steps below: SP JUNE

56 1. Key in 444 in the taxonomy search box to locate the correct Statement that should be used 2. Delete the tag that is currently on the Statement In accordance with section 444 of the Companies Act SP JUNE 2017
