MORI Automatic Programming System MORI-AP Series are application systems which let you create machining programs easily on your PC. Programming time can be dramatically reduced, thanks to the easy operation which just requires you to follow instructions on the screen and enter information about the product s shape. Its functions, data and operability are fully compatible with the conversational automatic programming system of the MAPPS operation systems. The conversational programs can also be centrally managed. 2

What s more, data entry is minimized by following the guidance screen. Intersections are calculated during data entry, displayed in blue, and entered automatically into the right places, making it possible to define profiles with a minimum of input. 9 Inlet shape L M NT NZ/ZT You can create an unlimited number of inlet shapes. The abundant machining menus make programming more efficient. Data import is possible in the GENERAL, MILLING and HOLE processes of the machining menu. 10 Text engraving function L M NT NZ/ZT The function which allows easy text engraving. Various font types and layouts are available. This function is optional for MAPPS. Pocketing L M NT NZ/ZT For the pocket full contouring process, the end mill can be instructed to descend in a helical direction. MORI-POST advanced mode L M NT NZ/ZT This function allows you to customize NC programs created using the MAPPS or MORI-AP Series automatic programming functions. It lets you make detailed NC programs to suit your needs. This function is optional for MAPPS. 10
11 Relief machining L M NT NZ/ZT Detailed machining conditions such as machining areas and cutting directions can be set with GENERAL in MACHINING MENU, allowing users to machine without re-calculation and re-input of shape data. Advantages There is no need to re-calculate or re-input shape data Right-hand and left-hand cutting tools can be set in the same process, which means there is no need to re-edit the shape data when a tool is changed It is possible to approach the optimum machining position Just by specifying the part left uncut with a left-hand cutting tool, the necessary data is calculated automatically. The part left uncut can be machined without manual calculation. This function is optional for MAPPS. Width direction turn-grooving function L M NT NZ/ZT For turn-grooving, it is possible to output a path in the width direction in addition to the conventional pass in the depth direction. 11
12 Tool order function (for machines equipped with multiple turrets) L M NT NZ/ZT You can distinguish the machining spindle by the color and display the path waiting function so that it is easy to understand. What s more, you can also display process time studies using the tool order screen. After rough cutting in the multipurpose process (end face, O.D., I.D.), the process is copied and the machine returns to the cutting start position. 12
13 B-axis command function L M NT NZ/ZT In the conversational programming mode, B-axis commands can be output in tool change commands and simulation is also possible. 14 3D cutting simulation L M NT NZ/ZT It makes checking machining shapes and tool paths simple. Simulations of manually created G code programs, and not just programs entered using the conversational function, are also possible (including sub-programs) Zooming and rotation are available during simulations and tool trajectories can be displayed Time study The device allows the user to turn the object in any direction or orientation. 360 rotation After the 3D cutting simulation is performed, the estimated cycle times are displayed. List display function L M NT NZ/ZT Customers who often use the conversational function will be able to create programs more quickly by entering a lot more data on a single screen. For this reason, as well as the standard screen, we have prepared a list display function which allows you to enter conversational data on a single screen, and which can be used just by switching the parameters.
