3 Exchequer V1 Integration Managing Updates Background This document provides step by step instructions on applying specific updates to individual components to an existing Exchequer EDM / OCR Release 1.X installation. If you are updating your server or client installation as part of a new release (updating from 1.2 to 1.4 for instance) follow the chapter in the Server Installation Guide Updating an Installed Integration. Compatibility Exchequer SQL or Pervasive SQL version 7.0.X V SP1, 3.5, 3.6 Recommendations: The V1 distribution containing the relevant updates is located on the Exchequer server and shared so it is accessible by the clients. Exchequer EDM Release 1.X has been installed to completion and tested satisfactorily. V1 Exchequer Server Update 3

4 Update the Server Side components The V1 software will be cut and licensed once the customer has purchased the software. Updates will be distributed either by CD or made available on the V1 partner portal for you to download on the Exchequer Database Server. Ensure this distribution is accessible to the Exchequer Database Server. Release notes published with the updated components will indicate which of them will need to be applied. Available updates will fall in to the following categories: 1. Customisation This incorporates the functionality for the EDM button on the supported Exchequer screens. NOTE: This can be done manually, however the Exchequer Integration Configuration Wizard will update the Customisation automatically assuming Release 1.1 or higher is installed. 2. Lookup Binaries When using DbScanner, DbDeposit or printing to the V1 Archive Printer, specially written binaries are used for the transactions to allow the Exchequer database to be interrogated for data. This data is then assigned to the images deposited. NOTE: This can be done manually, however the Exchequer Integration Configuration Wizard will update the Lookup Binaries automatically assuming Release 1.1 or higher is installed. 3. Server Side scripting files Every transactional EDM table has a corresponding script which, in conjunction with the lookup binaries, allows data to be exchanged between the Exchequer database and the EDM database. 4. Exchequer Integration Configuration Wizard Should the capability of the Exchequer Integration Configuration Wizard be added to / improved / bugs corrected, it will be updated. 5 Updating the Customisation Prerequisites: All users are logged out of the Exchequer client The Exchequer home directory is X:\EXSCHSQL A fully installed, configured and tested Exchequer EDM Release 1.X is up and running The update has been copied to a shared area of the Exchequer server, X:\V1_EXCHEQUER1.X_UPDATE 1. Browse to the X:\V1_EXCHEQUER1.X_UPDATE \Installation\DRILLDOWNS directory and copy the entire contents to the clipboard 2. Navigate to the X:\EXSCHSQL\V1CODE directory 3. Paste the copied files into this folder, overwriting the existing files (agree to all being replaced) 4. Go up one folder level to X:\EXSCHSQL and run the application ENPLUGIN 5. You will get the screen shown below. Select the V1EXCHEQUERADDON in the COM plug-ins section, press Remove 6. Press Save then Close. 7. Now reopen ENPLUGIN. 8. Press the middle Install button next to the COM Plug-ins section 9. Browse to the location X:\EXSCHSQL\V1CODE and select the V1EXCHEQUERADDON application. (ENSURE YOU BROWSE TO THE APPLICATION VIA THE MAPPED DRIVE AND NOT THE C DRIVE) 10. Press Open 11. The V1EXCHEQUERADDON is added to the COM Plug ins section 12. Press Save then Close The Customisation has now been updated. V1 Exchequer Server Update 5

6 Updating the Lookup Binaries Prerequisites: All users are logged out of the Exchequer client The Exchequer home directory is X:\EXSCHSQL A fully installed, configured and tested Exchequer EDM Release 1.X is up and running The update has been copied to a shared area of the Exchequer server, X:\V1_EXCHEQUER1.X_UPDATE The V1 installation components have been installed to C:\V1Home 1. Browse to the X:\V1_EXCHEQUER1.X_UPDATE \Installation\LOOKUPS directory and copy the entire contents to the clipboard 2. Navigate to the C:\V1Home\utils\EXCQLU directory 3. Paste the copied files into this folder, overwriting the existing files (agree to all being replaced) 4. Open a Command prompt 5. CD to the C:\V1Home\utils directory 6. If your Exchequer server is 64-bit, enter the following commands: CorFlags.exe C:\V1Home\utils\EXCQLU\prlookup.exe /32bit+ CorFlags.exe C:\V1Home\utils\EXCQLU\prlookup_jtrans.exe /32bit+ CorFlags.exe C:\V1Home\utils\EXCQLU\prlookup_ntrans.exe /32bit+ If you re licensed for OCR: CorFlags.exe C:\V1Home\utils\EXCQLU\prlookup_ocr.exe /32bit+ 7. Press Enter after each command 8. Close the Command prompt The lookup binaries have now been updated. V1 Exchequer Server Update 6

7 Updating the Server Side scripting files Prerequisites: All users are logged out of the Exchequer client The Exchequer home directory is X:\EXSCHSQL A fully installed, configured and tested Exchequer EDM Release 1.X is up and running The update has been copied to a shared area of the Exchequer server, X:\V1_EXCHEQUER1.X_UPDATE The V1 installation components have been installed to C:\V1Home* 1. Browse to the X:\V1_EXCHEQUER1.X_UPDATE \Installation\DbArchive\MASTERDEFS directory and copy the entire contents to the clipboard 2. Navigate to the C:\V1Home\DbArchive directory 3. Paste the copied files into this folder, overwriting the existing files (agree to all being replaced) The server side scripting files have now been updated. *NOTE: If the path to the V1 components is not C:\V1Home, open each scripting file and reflect the known path to V1_SETTINGS.def. 8 Updating the Exchequer Integration Configuration Wizard Prerequisites: All users are logged out of the Exchequer client The Exchequer home directory is X:\EXSCHSQL A fully installed, configured and tested Exchequer EDM Release 1.X is up and running The update has been copied to a shared area of the Exchequer server, X:\V1_EXCHEQUER1.X_UPDATE The V1 installation components have been installed to C:\V1Home The V1 distribution has been copied from CD / copied from download location to c:\v1installfilestemp 1. Browse to the X:\V1_EXCHEQUER1.X_UPDATE\Installation\ directory and copy the files at the root of this directory (just the files, not the directories at this level) 2. Navigate to the c:\v1installfilestemp directory 3. Paste the copied files into this folder, overwriting the existing files (agree to all being replaced) 4. Run the Exchequer Integration Configuration Wizard.exe as normal and follow the Exchequer V1 Solution - Server Installation guide for full instructions. The Exchequer Integration Configuration Wizard has now been updated. V1 Exchequer Server Update 8

9 Update the Client Side components The V1 software will be cut and licensed once the customer has purchased the software. Ensure this distribution is accessible to the Exchequer Database Server. Release notes published with the updated components will indicate which of them will need to be applied. Having updated the Server Side components, it is recommended to re-run the Exchequer Integration Configuration Wizard on each workstation in Client Mode. V1 Exchequer Server Update 9
