4 Overview SiteView Energy allows monitoring of building energy consumption and provides an informative dashboard demonstrating energy savings and environmental impact. The solution collects and organizes real-time data and historical energy data gathered from the networked meters and presents it via an intuitive web interface. Use the dashboard to showcase in public areas, on large display screens, or on any PC, smartphone, or tablet. The solution consists of an energy monitoring dashboard and configuration interface that resides within SiteView Energy as well as a revenue grade meter and accessories. 4

5 About this Guide This guide is intended to help you get accustomed to some of the typical procedures that are necessary to know when working with SiteView Energy. For further information regarding SiteView Energy refer to the SiteView Energy Datasheet and for more information regarding the power meter and accessories, refer to the SiteView Energy meter Installation Guide. Conventions Used in this Document Notes This is an example of Note text. Wherever the note-paper icon appears, it means the associated text is giving a time-saving tip or a reference to associated information of interest. Cautions and Warnings This is an example of Caution and Warning text. Wherever the exclamation icon appears, it means that there may be an important safety concern or that an action taken may have a drastic effect on the device, equipment, and/or network if it is done improperly. 5

7 About SiteView Energy SiteView Energy allows you to access the main configuration screens as well as the dashboard. The three main screens are the following: Meters Real-Time Meter Configuration Other Configuration Accessing SiteView Energy To use SiteView Energy, the nlight ECLYPSE must be properly licensed with the metering application option. By default, SiteView Energy comes embedded within your nlight ECLYPSE controller. To access SiteView Energy: Open an Internet Browser and enter the IP address of the controller OR the controller s hostname: ECLYPSE-XXXXXX, where XXXXXX is the last 6 character of the MAC address printed on a sticker located on the side of the controller. Press Enter. 7

8 Enter your default username and password to log in to SiteView Energy: You will be logged into the Web Interface Welcome Page. Select SiteView Energy: 8

10 Creating a New User Creating a new user is accomplished through the Web Configuration Interface on the web. After entering your login details, select Web Configuration Interface. From the menu located on the upper right, select User Management. Local User Management User access to the SiteView Energy Meter is managed by adding them to the Local User Management within the Web Configuration Interface shown below. Item Add Edit Remove Description Add a new user to user management. These users will have login access to the controller. It is important to create new user accounts with strong passwords to protect the controller from unauthorized access. Edit a user s information. Remove a user from user management. Remove the factory default admin account as this is a commonly known security breech (only the password for this user account needs to be compromised). Proceed as follows. 1. Create a new user account with administrative rights for yourself. 2. Logout of the admin account and then login to the user account you have created. Remove the factory default admin account. 10

11 Adding a User Adding a user creates a user profile that allows a person to login to the controller with a username / password combination and to have access to certain controller software interfaces. User management will also define the welcome page upon which a user will land, when they connect to the controller with the Welcome Page setting. First, enter User Information Next select User Roles (see User Access Attributes below for description). 11

12 Finally, enter URL to set Welcome Page for user. Item Username Password User access attributes: Welcome Page Description The user s login credential. The user s password credential. View/conceal the user s password credential. The access levels the user will be able to use. Set one or more options according to the user s role. Admin: Allows user access to the SiteView Energy studio and viewer. The user can also view and modify all configuration interface parameters and program the controller with EC-gfxProgram. Operator: Allows user access to the SiteView Energy interface in Viewing mode. Viewer: Allows user access to the SiteView Energy interface in Viewing mode. The user is not allowed to access the ECLYPSE Web Configuration Interface. Rest: Allows a user to program the controller with EC-gfxProgram. This user does not have access to the ECLYPSE Web Configuration Interface or SiteView Energy. This sets the landing page that will be displayed to individual users when they login to the controller. The URL for any page the controller can serve according to the user s access rights can be used. Enter the URL of the web page found after the controllers' IP address or hostname. This should be copied from your Web browser s address bar when you have navigated to the target page. For example, the address for the user default webpage is Hostname /eclypse/envysion/viewer.html?proj=siteview_energy or /eclypse/envysion/viewer.html?proj=siteview_energy, remove the hostname or IP Address so that the URL becomes /eclypse/envysion/viewer.html?proj=siteview_energy. For more information, refer to the nlight ECLYPSE User Guide. 12

13 Meter Configuration The Meters Cfg. screen is used to configure the power meter parameters. You can configure up to 5 different meters. Parameters such as the CT Phase, Type, Amps, and Phase Shift are defined, based on wiring connection, for CT1, CT2, and CT3. Remember to click Save to save all changes you ve made in this screen before you exit. If not, all modifications will be lost. Figure 2-1: Meter Configuration screen The following table describes the information required to configure the meters: Parameter Description Enabled Meter Name Meter ID Connection Type Demand Window Line Frequency Enable or disable the meter. When the meter is disabled, the nlight ECLYPSE controller no longer tracks the meter values. Enter the name of the meter. Displays the meter ID Select the meter wiring type: WYE (default value) or Delta: A WYE connection automatically displays all three CTs. Any changes made to CT1 also apply to CT2 and CT3. A DELTA connection displays only the two available CTs. Any changes made to CT1 also apply to CT3 For further information regarding the wiring types, refer to the SiteView Energy meter Installation Guide. Demand window size in minutes. Used to calculate the average kw demand over a discrete interval such as one 15-minute interval. The meter will average the kw for the time interval, reset to zero and start reading the next interval. Enter the demand window anywhere between 1 and 60 minutes. The default value is 15 minutes. Select the line frequency for metering: 50 Hz or 60Hz. The default value is 60Hz. 13

14 The following table describes the Read-Only information displayed in the Meter Configuration screen: CT Configuration CT Phase* CT phase to monitor CT Type CT types attached to the power meter (Rogowski only) CT Amps* CT size (Amps) CT Phase Shift* CT phase shifts (in degrees). The default value is 1.1 CT Rogowski mv/ka CT output ratio (mv/ka) Scale A value that changes the scaling of certain registers (from 0 to 6). Volts Multiplier Multiply volts values by this scalar. Use this with Step- down Transformer. Affects all parameters that use volts (i.e., kw) Amps Multiplier Multiply Amps value by this scalar. For use with x:5a CTs and single let monitoring of a 3-phase load. Affects all parameters that use amps (i.e., kw). *Apply to MilliVolt CT not Rogowski Coils Energy Consumption History An energy baseline serves a reference to compare energy performance. You can define energy baseline information in a.csv file that can then be downloaded or uploaded to your system in the following ways: Option Download a Template CSV Upload a CSV File Download Uploaded CSV Clear Historical Trend KW/KWH History Buffer Description Download a template file in a.csv format that you can use to enter your energy baseline information prior to installation. Click Download to download to.csv file. Note: If energy baseline information is not available, you should create data that represents 100% energy consumption baseline information in the.csv file. Upload an existing.csv file that contains energy baseline information that will be used to measure energy usage. Click Choose File to select the.csv file you wish to upload. You can also drag and drop a.csv file onto the dotted area to upload the file. Download an existing.csv file that contains energy baseline information. You can modify the information in this file and upload the updated file using Upload a CSV File. Click Download to download to.csv file. Clear the meter s trend logs history. Select the number of years you wish to keep the historical data. 14

15 Real-Time Meter Data The Meters Real-Time screen is used to view and monitor the real-time data (power, voltage, current, etc.) for each different meter and the CT phases. You can have up to five meters. 16 Other Configurations The Other Configurations screen is used to define various parameters or preferences such as color, logo, rates, green tips, etc. Remember to click Save to save all changes you ve made in each section. If not, all modifications will be lost. Interface Configuration The Interface Configuration section is used to select the user interface parameters such as a company logo, address, and interface color. Remember to click Save to save all changes made in this section. Parameter Description Logo Name, Street, City Primary Color Select a logo image file or drag and drop a file in the dotted area to display your logo in the user interface. Enter the company name and address. Click the Primary Color square to select the main color for your dashboard such as your corporate color. 16

Remember to click Save to save all changes made in this section.

17 Secondary Color Click the Secondary Color square to select the main color for your dashboard such as your corporate accent color. Rates and Conversions The Rates and Conversions section you can enter the following information. Remember to click Save to save all changes made in this section. 18 Cars not Driven Enter the amount of cars not driven (lbs/car) Green Tips To help promote awareness for a healthy planet, SiteView Energy allows you to create or modify green action tips that you can display publicly on a dashboard. To create a green tip, enter a heading and the body text. You can associate an icon to the green tip by selecting an image file. To create a green tip: To create a green tip, enter a heading in the Header field and the content in the Body field. To associate an icon to the green tip you are creating, select an image file or drag and drop an image file in the Icon dotted area. Click the add button to insert the new green tip. Click the edit button to edit an existing green tip. Click the delete button to delete a green tip. 18

19 Dashboard The dashboard graphically presents real-time power consumption data. Other key information is displayed such as daily, monthly, and yearly power usage with peak highlights, savings since system installation, customizable green tips, and environmental indicators (CO2 emissions avoided, car miles not driven, trees planted, etc.). To access the dashboard, click the dashboard icon located on the top right corner of the metering appliance screens. To exit the dashboard and return to the metering appliance screens, click on the configuration icon. Dashboard information, including appearance, will reflect the configuration selections you have made. Installation Date The Installation Date section is used to enter the date that will be starting point for the energy savings calculation. Typically, after all re-light work or system retrofit have been completed. Parameter Description Installation Date Select the date of the installation at which SiteView energy will start calculating energy savings. Adding Meters In the Meters section, select the meter(s) for which the energy data will be displayed. If multiple meters are selected, the power consumption data displayed in the dashboard will be a combination of all the selected meters. If you wish to add a new meter, select the meter you wish to add from the drop down. Click the add icon. The meter is added. Viewing the Power Usage and Trend Logs In the Power Usage section, click the kwh/kw slider to view the data in either kilowatt hours or kilowatts. 19

To select a specific day you wish to view, click the calendar icon or select the Hourly, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly time period. To download trend logs, click the download icon displayed.

The Download Trend Logs dialog box is Select the meter and date range and click Download. A.csv file is downloaded. The.csv file contains meter information in kw and kwh as well as other data such as the consumption per 15 minutes for 60 days, per 1 hour for one year, and per day for more than one year. See the following image for an example: About Power Usage and Trend Logs SiteView Energy will automatically store kw and kwh values based on the following logic a. Every 15 minutes instantaneous kw for 60 days b. Every 1 hour, highest hourly kw (based on Demand Window) and cumulative kwh for 3 yrs c. Every 1 day, highest daily kw (based on Demand Window) and cumulative kwh for up to 10 yrs (configurable) d. kwh reset to 0 at the end of the month. Viewing Green Tips To scroll through the available green tips located on the left side of the dashboard, click the left and right arrows. By default, the green tips will auto scroll. 20
