INTRODUCTION In this part Presentation of the guidebook Glossary Icons used in this guidebook 1.1 PRESENTATION OF THE GUIDEBOOK This configuration guidebook is intended for OMR and OCWS users. This configuration guidebook is intended for all those using the management and creation of Digital Assets in OCWS and its visualization in OMR. This guidebook introduces the configuration and use of OCWS to store, share, distribute and customize its Digital Asset. All the features described in this guidebook as well as all the screen impressions were realized in June 2017 under Windows 10 and Android. This guidebook may evolve with improvements to OCWS and OMR. 1.2 GLOSSARY Term Definition ORINOX Engineering Center Digital Asset The Digital Asset is a set of data (3D model, hierarchization, links...) resulting from a project. OCWS Web platform for data storage and management. OMR Target RVM FBX 3D visualization and review application. Image used in augmented reality detected by OMR and which displays on it a 3D model. RVM file is an AVEVA Plant Design Management System Model. AVEVA's Plant Design Management System (PDMS) is the most popular 3D design system using 'data centric' technology for managing projects (also used by e3d). 3 Augmented Reality Augmented reality is the superposition of reality and elements (sounds, 2D, 3D, videos, etc.) calculated by a real-time computer system. It s most often used on tablet or smartphone. Gyroscopic effect Allows you to directly measure angles of inclination, in this case for a tablet or a smartphone. 5 2. CONTEXT In this part What is digitalization? What is OCWS? What is OMR? How it works? Required items 2.1 WHAT IS DIGITALIZATION? The Digital Asset is the digital twin as a network of contextualized information which captures and enhance the of any industrial asset and project. In other words, the digitalization refers to the conversion from the physical asset (with 3D models, technical documents, drawings, images, etc.) into its digital twin. The Digital Asset contains information and describes the whole lifecycle of the asset from design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, revamping and decommissioning. This approach to the Digital Asset creates an integrated framework of reliable information, supporting and improving at the same time in decision-making, safety and performance. It unifies information that runs through every system, populates every application, and is embedded in every documents and models. It removes barriers to information flows and provides access to that information, both for capital project execution and asset life cycle management. To conclude, the digitalization empowers your entire teams whith information that they share and they trust to support the collaboration and the decision-making at the right time. This approach makes it possible to streamline the overall execution of the project, simplifying commissioning, start-up and transfer, minimizing the risks of overruns and increasing operational reliability. 2.2 WHAT IS OMR? ORINOX Model Review ( OMR, is one of the services of ORINOX Cloud Web Services. OCWS ( is a web-based platform for storing and managing your Digital Asset data and an innovative solution to access, edit and view engineering data of your project from the best class softwares (AVEVA, PTC Plus, LFM, OMR). OMR is a digital asset viewing and review application, available on multiple device and OS: smartphone, tablet, Hololens, Occulus, HTC Vive or touch screen, compatible with ios, Android and Windows. OMR is designed to be connected to your Digital Asset via your OCWS account. It is easy to deposit on this platform a file. rvm or.fbx, directly from the preferred design software. OMR TUTORIAL In this part Introduction Prerequisites Account login Digital Assets and OMR Packages menu 3.1 INTRODUCTION OMR is the visualization part of OCWS, it allows to use the data deposited in OCWS previously to transcribe it in its application, it is accessible on the platforms Android, IOS and Windows. 3.2 PREREQUISITES You must first download the OMR application to your tablet or smartphone and PC (Windows only): Réf. : User guidebook for model configuration Page : 8 sur 21

9 3.3 ACCOUNT LOGIN - Launch the OMR application on your smartphone or tablet with this logo: - Log in with your OCWS account. Username or Password To login To create an account on OCWS To connect locally (this excludes updates) Réf. : User guidebook for model configuration Page : 9 sur 21

10 3.4 DIGITAL ASSETS AND OMR PACKAGES MENU - Choose your Digital Assets and select your package (as it s the first time you use it you must download it completely). To begin your OMR expericence, you have access to the OMR Experience Digital Asset, which offer you the possibility to view 4 different OMR packagages. You have 3 package status: The package has not yet been uploaded to the device. The package has been downloaded to the device (you can see it in offline mod). The package has been modified and needs to be updated. - If the package needs to be updated, you will have a window asking for confirmation before you update the package. Confirm by yes. 13 3.5 OMR MODES OF VISUALIZATION - OMR has 3 modes of visualization: Navigator, Walkthrough and Augmented Reality. 14 NAVIGATOR MODE - Once the project loads you arrive in navigator mode. The Navigator mode makes it possible to quickly visualize the whole model. Here is a description of the interface: 1: Enable or disable the menu. 2: Button ruban, for example to show or hide a layer. 3: Main model. 4: Model from library. 5: Allows to show a window with different views. 6: Resets the view. 7: Allows to change viewing mode (Navigator, Walktrough, Augmented). 8: Play mode, makes it possible to make appear gradually the layers. 16 WALKTROUGH MODE - The walkthrough mode allows you to visualize the model in detail while moving in 1st person. Here is a description of the interface in Walkthrough Mode: 1: Enable or disable the picture mode (Once activated another photo icon will appear at the bottom right select it to take a picture). The photos are saved in the documents or pictures directory on your device, which then allows you to annotate them in another application. 2: Enable or disable Fly mode allows in walkthrough mode to move in height by pointing the camera joystick up (or down). 3: Enable or disable gyroscopic mode. 4: Enable or disable STAT mode, allows displaying a small window of information containing the fps and the spatial coordinates. 17 With coordinate mode enabled, you can place templates from the library by dragging you into the template at the desired location. It is sufficient to note the coordinates Pos indicated and to report them under OCWS. 5: Enable or disable Cardboard mode. - Below what you need to see: To enjoy the cardboard mode, please bring a cardboard. 18 - Insert your smartphone into the cardboard: - To move around, aim at the teleportation area with the pointer. A loading bar will appear and you will be teleported into the area. Réf. : User guidebook for model configuration Page : 18 sur 21

19 To enable the teleport in cardboard mode please add in OCWS in the library file digitalasset_library.xml the following line: Replace the pox, poy and poz with the desire coordinate to make the teleporter appear. Don t forget to activate the library line in your project file digitalasset_.omr.xml in OCWS. It should look like this. Main controls in walkthrough mode: 1: Movement joystick. 2: Camera joystick. This mode is integrating the gyroscope (cf glossary 1.2), so you can move your tablet or smartphone to rotate in the scene, but only if your device is compatible. 20 AUGMENTED MODE - The Augmented mode allows you to see the model in augmented reality using the marker you have associated with this model. - Point the camera on the marker and you will see the model (and the layers buttons). If the model is too large compared to the target, you will need to change the size of the target under OCWS (cf chapter 5.4 Adjusting the target on OMR-User GuideBook for Model Configuration).
