1 Overview The ACS Televideo Terminal Emulation software allows Autologue customer s, who have an IBM compatible PC with Windows 9X or above, to be connected via Ssh to the Autologue Computer System and emulate (act like) a Televideo 955 screen. Before beginning the installation, make sure you have received the following software media: ACS Terminal Emulator Installation ( PC CD-ROM Disk - used on the PC ) If you are installing this software on PC with an existing version of the ACS Terminal Emulator, make sure the program is NOT running before installing. Step 1: Installing The Emulator On Your PC To install the ACS Terminal Emulation software on your PC, you must have at least 17 megabytes of free hard disk space. Follow the steps outlined below: 1. Insert the ACS Terminal Emulation CD-ROM Disk into the CD-ROM drive. (The following instructions use Drive D as the example drive.) 2. If the installation program automatically started up, skip down to step number 4. If it didn t, perform steps 2 through 3: 3. Left click on the Start menu and then left click on the Run menu option. 4. Within the Run box, enter the following: Type: D:\ACS Setup (Build NNNN).exe (Or E:\ ACS Setup (Build NNNN).exe if your CD-ROM drive is assigned to E:) 5. Left click on the Start button, left click on Programs, left click on the Acs Terminal Emulator folder and then left click on the ACS Terminal Emulator and the terminal emulator will now be displayed as shown: Customer Documentation 34 November 15, 2010

35 Configuring The Emulator 75. Left click within the user: field and enter in the user name to be logged in with. Example: admin, str1, str2, tony. 76. Left click within the password: field and enter the password for the user name entered. 77. Left click within the host: field and enter the system name or IP address of the Autologue system. 78. Left click within the Save Connection above as: field, and enter a meaningful connection name and then left click on the OK button. Example: Store1 - Tony. 79. Left click on the OK button to connect to the Autologue. When the connection is made, you will be automatically logged into the Autologue with the username and password that was setup. You can now use the terminal just like a Televideo terminal. Opening A New Terminal Session User s can open multiple terminal sessions by left clicking on the File menu option, then clicking on the New Terminal menu selection. A New Ssh Connection window will pop up and the user can select a connection. Note: The user can also use (Ctrl-N) as a shortcut key to open up a new terminal session. 36 Changing Tab Settings For The Current Terminal Session User s can change colors and fonts for a specific terminal session by left clicking on the Tab menu option, then clicking on the Settings menu selection. A Setting For Current Tab Only window will pop up as shown: Users can select change any of the available settings which include foreground/background colors and fonts and after clicking on the OK button, the changes will be made instantly for the current terminal session. Changing Default Tab Settings For All New Terminal Sessions User s can setup default fonts and foreground/background screen colors for all new terminal sessions by left clicking on the File menu option, then clicking on the Default Settings menu selection. 37 Users can select change any of the available settings which include foreground/background colors and fonts and after clicking on the OK button, the changes will only take effect for all new terminal sessions. Exiting The Terminal Emulator Before exiting, be sure to exit back to the login prompt on the Autologue system. There are two ways to exit TTWIN: From the File menu, choose Exit. Press Alt+F4.
