3 Page 3 of 10 ACM Digital Library Conduct your search and view a citation you wish to save in full format. Click on the Export format: BibTeX link. If you have multiple records you want to import, copy and paste the results into a Document and save as a plain text. txt file. Select BibTeX as the data source. Browse to find the text file you saved to your computer. CSA s databases (Biological sciences, ERIC, LLBA, Metadex, Sociological abstracts, etc.) Conduct your search and select the records you want to export and click the RefWorks link. Click the Export to RefWorks button and the references are automatically exported to RefWorks.

4 Page 4 of 10 Cochrane Library Conduct a search and select the records you want to export and click on Export Selected Citations. As Export Type choose Abstract or Citation. As File Type choose either PC, Mac, Unix or Linux, click Go and save as a plain text. txt file. Select Wiley Interscience as the data source. Browse to find the text file you saved to your computer. EBSCOhost (Academic search premier, Business source premier, CINAHL, EconLit, ATLA, Philosopher's index, IPSA) Conduct a search and click on the Add to folder icon for each of the results you want to save. Click on the Folder icon in the upper right-hand corner. Re-select the references to export. Click on the Export icon. Click the radio button in front of Direct Export to RefWorks to initiate a direct export. Click the Save button to begin the direct export.

5 Page 5 of 10 Emerald Conduct your search and select the records you want to import to your marked list. Click the Go button to add your selections to the Marked List. Click on Marked List on the left-hand side of the screen. Click on Export Options. The screen will expand. Click the Direct Export to RefWorks button. The export will open RefWorks, if it is not already open, and you will be prompted to log in. Engineering Village (Compendex, Inspec, Referex (e-books)) Conduct a search and mark the items you wish to export. Select Download from the search results page. Select RefWorks direct import and click on Download. The export will open RefWorks, if it is not already open, and you will be prompted to log in.

6 Page 6 of 10 Ergonomics Abstracts Conduct your search and Add to Marked List from the Selected drop-down. When you are ready to export, click on the View Marked Lists link. Select the items in your list and select Download Citation from the Selected drop-down menu. Select RefWorks Direct Export from the Choose a format drop-down menu. Select Citation and Abstract and Download file. You will be prompted to save a. ris file to your computer. Select RefWorks Tagged Format as the data source and database. Browse to find the. ris file you saved to your computer. Gale Conduct your search and mark the records you want to import. Click on Marked Items that will appear in the toolbar. Click on Citation Tools in the Tools area. In the export to third party software, select RefWorks and click the Export button. The export will open RefWorks, if it is not already open, and you will be prompted to log in. Google Scholar To configure the direct export to RefWorks, you must first click on the Scholar Preferences link in Google Scholar and as your Bibliography Manager select RefWorks. Conduct your search in Google Scholar. Each record displayed will have an Import into RefWorks link. Clicking on the link will launch the RefWorks login page. Once you log in, you are brought automatically to the Edit view of the reference. If you do not wish to edit the record, click on Save Reference. Your record is stored in your Last Imported Folder.

7 Page 7 of 10 IEEE Xplore Conduct your search and mark the records you want to import. Click on Download this Citation at the top of the screen. Select Citation and Abstract from the Include drop-down menu. Select RefWorks from the Format drop-down menu. Click the Download Citation button. The export will open RefWorks, if it is not already open, and you will be prompted to log in. LIBRIS Conduct your search and mark the records you want to import. Click on CITE at the bottom of the screen. Choose RefWorks from the FORMAT drop-down menu. Copy the text below Cut and paste RefWorks. Select RefWorks Tagged Format as the data source and database. Mark the alternative Import data from the following text. Paste the text in the field below.

8 Page 8 of 10 LNCS Conduct your search and click on the title of the records you want to import. Click on EXPORT CITATION. Select Citation and Abstract from the Export menu. Select Plain Text from the Format menu. Select RefWorks from the Select Citation Manager menu. Save the file. Click on EXPORT CITATION. Select RefWorks Tagged Format as the data source and database Browse to find the.txt file you saved to your computer. Ovid (AMED, Biological abstracts, PsycINFO) Conduct your search and select the references you want to export. Click the Export icon. Select RefWorks in the Export to drop-down menu. Click on Export Citations. The export will open RefWorks if it is not already open and automatically import the references.

9 Page 9 of 10 PubMed Conduct your search and mark the records you wish to export. Click on the Send to: link, in the upper right corner. Select File from the Choose destination menu. Select Medline from the Format menu. Save the file. Select NLM PubMed as the data source and as the database. Browse to find the. txt file you saved to your computer. Import from PubMed with RefGrab-it Start in RefWorks: Select Tools/RefGrab-it from the toolbar. A new window will open: Download RefGrab-it. Select Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox below Installing RefGrab-it as a bookmarklet in your browser. Rightclick on RefGrab-it bookmarklet and choose Add to Favorites. Click on add. Check that RefGrab-it has been added as a bookmark among your favorites. In PubMed: Conduct your search, select RefGrab-it from your favorites in the toolbar. RefGrab-it will appear in front of the references in PubMed. Mark the records you wish to export and click on Import to RefWorks. The export will open RefWorks if it is not already open and automatically import the references.

10 Page 10 of 10 Scopus Conduct your search and mark the records you want to import and click on Export. Select either All documents or Only these documents for the Marked records. Select the RefWorks Direct Export. Select Abstract format from the Output drop-down menu to export the record's abstracts and click Export. The export will open RefWorks if it is not already open and automatically import the references. Web of Science Conduct your search. Mark the records you want to import and click on the Add to Marked List button located at the top or bottom of the screen. Click on the Marked List link when you are ready to export. On the Marked Records page in the Step 1 area, select the fields you want to include in the export. In the Step 2 area, select Plain Text in the Other Reference Software dropdown menu and click the Save to File button. Save the file. Select Thomson Reuters as the data source and Web of Science as the database. Browse to find the. txt file you saved to your computer.
