1 EndNote Basic: Export and import references Go to our library to access the databases: Name database Name provider KU Leuven) How to export results? CINAHL EBSCOHost 1. Select your references of interest by adding them to 'folder': go to Alert/Save/Share Add to folder Results or Current Search. 2. Go to 'folder'. 3. Choose Export ; Generic bibliographic management software and save. 4. A new page appears. Choose File > save as and store it as a.txt file on your computer. 3a. Choose Direct Export to EndnoteWeb and the references will be automatically pushed to your EndnoteWeb account in the folder Unfiled. How to import results? COLLECT >> IMPORT >>"Import option" (= filter) CINAHL (EBSCO) Cochrane Library Wiley The Cochrane library shows results categorized in the different information sources. Therefore it is necessary to export the references source by source. 1. Select your references of interest. 2. Choose Export All or Export Selected. 3. Select Export type: PC or Unix/Linux or Mac and File type: Citation and Abstract. 4. Save the.txt file on your computer. Cochrane Library (Wiley) EconLit ProQuest (CSA / ProQuest) 1. Select your references of interest. 2. Click on Export/Save. 3. Output: RIS and Content: Citation, Abstract, Indexing. 4. Continue and save file on your computer or open it immediately. The references will be directly linked to EndnoteWeb after a login. The references are being imported automatically. Just check the folder unfiled. EconLit (PQ)
2 Embase Embase.com (Elsevier) 1. Select your references of interest, up to 500 at a time. Use publication year filter to split the results in numbers less than Combining references from different searches: select references and Add to clipboard. Then go to Clipboard'. Here the references will be collected. There is a limit of 5000 references. 2. Click on Export. 3. Export format: Plain text and Output: Full Record. 4. Then press export and save as.txt file. ERIC Ovid SP 1. Select your references or interest. You can enter a list or hyphenated range of results EMBASE ERIC (OvidSP) Food Science & Technology Abstracts (FSTA) Ovid SP 1. Select your references or interest. You can enter a list or hyphenated range of results FSTA (OvidSP)
3 International Pharmaceutical Abstracts (IPA) Ovid SP 1. Select your references or interest. You can enter a list or hyphenated range of results Intl Pharm Abs (OvidSP) LIMO LIBIS 1. Perform a search and select your references of interest. 2. Click on My Citations in the right upper corner and Sign in with your KU Leuven ID (in case you are not signed in yet). 3. In the tab Citations, select again your references. 4. In the menu under Select how to save, choose Push to EndnoteWeb and GO. 5. The references will be automatically transferred to EndnoteWeb, in the folder UNFILED. Not necessary because there is direct export. Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts (LLBA) ProQuest 1. Select your references of interest. 2. Click on Export/Save. 3. Output: RIS and Content: Citation, Abstract, Indexing. 4. Continue and save file on your computer or open it immediately. The references will be directly linked to EndnoteWeb after a login. The references are being imported automatically. Just check the folder unfiled. Import with the filter 'RefMan RIS'

5 PubMed NLM 1. Select your references of interest: - Combining references from different searches: select references and Send to Clipboard. Then go to Clipboard: x items. Here the references will be collected. There is a limit of 500 references. 2. In the list of results (or in the clipboard-list), click on Send to: File Format: MEDLINE Sort by: Recently Added, then push 'Create file'. 3. Save the file as.txt on your computer. Make sure you disable the pop-up blocker. NOTE: A. If you have a large amount of references to export (>500), select Send to: File Citation Manager. Fill in the number of references to send, starting from citation x. Then push the Create File button. B. Open or save the downloaded file immediately and the references will be uploaded automatically in EndnoteWeb after a login. Check the folder Unfiled to see your imported references. PubMed (NLM) Scirus.com Elsevier 1. Select your references of interest. 2. Export: Citations, abstracts and keywords. 3. File format:.txt format. 4. Choose save file to disk or open Reference Software (depends on your settings). 5. Save.txt file on your computer. Scirus Sport Discus EBSCOHost 1. Select references by adding them to folder: go to Alert/Save/Share Add to folder Results or Current Search. 2. Go to folder. 3. Choose Export ; Generic bibliographic management software and save. 4. A new page appears. Choose File > save as and store it as a.txt file on your computer. SPORTDiscus (Ebsco) Web of Science Thomson Reuters No export needed. Select your references of interest and Save to: EndnoteWeb. The referenced will be automatically uploaded in your EndnoteWeb. Check the folder Unfiled. Not necessary because there is direct export.
