5 About this documet This guide describes how you ca: ΠIstall ad cofigure BaaERP o a Microsoft Widows NT platform. ΠIstall ad customize IBM DB2 Uiversal Database (UDB) versio 5.2 for BaaERP. This guide is iteded for BaaERP istallers ad system admiistrators. The reader is assumed to be familiar with the system admiistratio of Microsoft Widows NT systems. The purpose of this guide is to help you set up a workig system. For tuig iformatio, please read the BaaERP DB2 Database Driver Techical Referece Maual (U7080C US). The guide is divided ito the followig chapters ad appedices: Chapter 1 describes the prerequisites for the istallatio of DB2 UDB 5.2 ad lists the activities to be performed to istall the DB2 UDB software. Chapter 2 describes how you ca istall the BaaERP software. Chapter 3 provides recommeded ad optioal post-istallatio procedures. Appedix A describes how you ca istall ad cofigure the database for Baa maually. Appedix B describes how you ca maually import the database if the istallatio fails. Appedix C describes the database user ad group admiistratio tasks required after the BaaERP istallatio. iii

7 1 DB2 istallatio This chapter provides the followig sectios: Hardware ad software prerequisites User-ame requiremets Database istallatio Required software DB2 UDB versio 5.2 istallatio procedure DB2 UDB FixPack istallatio procedure Istallatio verificatio Istallatio results Hardware ad software prerequisites To istall DB2 Uiversal Database versio 5.2 o your BaaERP server, you eed the followig hardware ad software already istalled: At least 64 MB of mai memory (RAM) ad 8 MB for each additioal user. At least 64 MB of pagig space (virtual memory). A Itel based system. Microsoft Widows NT Server Versio 4.0 with Service Pack 4 or later must be istalled ad cofigured. Refer to the Widows NT Istallatio Guide for more iformatio about settig up your Widows NT server. At least 145 MB of disk space for the DB2 UDB software. The hard disk must be formatted i NTFS format. A CD-ROM drive. A etwork adapter supported by Widows NT. User-ame requiremets You must have a user ame that will be used to istall DB2. The user ame must belog to the Admiistrators group, ad must also be a valid DB2 user ame or have the advaced user right to act as part of the operatig system. A valid DB2 user ame is eight characters or less ad complies with DB2 amig rules. 1-1

8 DB2 istallatio If this user ame does ot comply with DB2s amig rules, but has the advaced user right, Act as part of the operatig system the setup program will create the user ame DB2ADMIN to perform the istallatio. This user ame will be removed from the system whe the istallatio is complete, uless it is used by the admiistratio server. Database istallatio NOTE NOTE Required software To istall the IBM DB2 UDB software o a Widows NT workstatio, you must have the followig software: DB2 UDB Versio 5.2 for Widows NT Operatig Eviromet CD-ROM. Baa supports the Persoal, Workgroup, ad Eterprise editios of DB2 UDB Versio 5.2. This guide provides the Eterprise istallatio procedure. DB2 UDB Versio 5.2 FixPack 10 or later. The FixPack ca be obtaied i two ways: Dowloaded from DB2 s Service ad Support Web page ( Ordered from IBM support o a CD-ROM. DB2 UDB versio 5.2 istallatio procedure For iformatio o errors ecoutered durig product istallatio, see the db2.log file. The db2.log file stores geeral iformatio ad error messages resultig from istallatio ad uistall activities. By default, the db2.log is located i the x:\db2log directory, where x: is the drive o which your operatig system is istalled. 1 Log o as a user that meets the requiremets to istall DB2. See the earlier sectio User ame requiremets for more iformatio. 2 Close all your programs. 1-2

9 DB2 istallatio NOTE NOTE 3 Isert the CD-ROM ito the drive. The autoru feature automatically starts the setup program. The setup program will determie the system laguage, ad lauch the setup program for that laguage. If you wat to ru the setup program maually or i a differet laguage, take the followig steps: Click Start ad select Ru. Type x:\setup /i=language, where X: represets your CD-ROM drive, ad LANGUAGE represets the two-character coutry code for your laguage (for example, EN for Eglish). Click OK. The Welcome widow opes. At ay time durig the DB2 istallatio, you ca click Help to display the stadard DB2 istallatio help dialog. 4 Click Next. If you are ot logged i with admiistrator rights, the followig warig will appear. 1-3

10 DB2 istallatio If you are logged o accordig to DB2 requiremets, the istallatio proceeds by checkig the system s space requiremets. 5 Next, the Select Products dialog box appears. Select DB2 Uiversal Database Eterprise Editio ad click Next. The Select Istallatio Type dialog box appears. 1-4

11 DB2 istallatio 6 At the Select Istallatio Type dialog box, select Typical. The typical istallatio istalls all required ad most frequetly used DB2 compoets, icludig ODBC support, documetatio, ad commoly used DB2 tools such as the iformatio ceter, the cliet cofiguratio assistat, ad the Cotrol Ceter. The DB2 istace ad the admiistratio server are also created ad customized to use the protocols detected o your system. Click Next to cotiue. The Select Destiatio Directory dialog box appears. 1-5

12 DB2 istallatio 7 Check the directory locatio ad make ay desired chages. Verify that you have sufficiet disk space for the istallatio. Click Next. NOTE At the Eter Userame ad Password for the Admiistratio Server dialog box appears. If a DB2 Versio 5 product is already istalled o the workstatio, you must istall the product o the same drive ad i the same directory. 1-6

13 DB2 istallatio 8 Specify the userame ad password you wat to use ad click Next. By default, the setup program will fill the User Name, Password, ad Cofirm Password fields with db2admi. If you provide your ow user ame, you must esure that it is eight characters or less ad complies with DB2 s amig covetios. The selected user ame will be created as a NT admiistrator by the setup program if it does ot already exist. If it does ot exist, the followig message appears: If the user ame does exist as a NT user, the setup program will verify that the: User ame is a member of the admiistrators group. Password is valid provided that the user ame used to istall DB2 has the advaced user right to act as part of the operatig system. If you use the default user ame db2admi, ad do ot chage the default password, you must also chage the password immediately followig the istallatio to esure security. To chage the password, you must: Use the user maager fuctio of NT Admiistratio Tools to chage the password for db2admi. Chage the password for the DB2-DB2DAS00 service to match the ew password that you specified for the db2admi user ame. 1-7

14 DB2 istallatio 9 The Start Copyig Files dialog box appears. 10 Click Istall to cotiue. The Complete Setup scree displays after all files have bee copied. You must ow restart the computer before you ca proceed with the istallatio process. Select the desired restart optio ad click Fiish. 1-8

15 DB2 istallatio 11 Whe your system restarts, log o to Widows NT with a user ame that belogs to the admiistrators group ad meets DB2 s amig rules. Several DB2 applicatios load at startup: DB2 First Steps IBM Software Registratio Tool Cotrol Ceter You ca complete the registratio at this time or complete it later by selectig Setup, Programs, DB2 for Widows NT, ad Registratio. You do ot eed to use either DB2 First Steps or Cotrol Ceter at this time. Close these programs, the complete the DB2 UDB FixPack istallatio procedure as described i the followig sectio. DB2 UDB FixPack istallatio procedure The DB2 UDB versio 5.2 FixPack must be versio 10 or later. It ca be obtaied i two ways: Dowloaded from DB2 s Service ad Support Web page ( Ordered from IBM support o a CD-ROM. Each FixPack icludes readme documetatio which explais the update, istallatio procedure, as well as ay postistallatio procedures you may eed to perform to fully implemet the fix. Review this documetatio before the FixPack istallatio. Istallatio verificatio You ca verify that DB2 is istalled correctly by creatig the DB2 sample database o your system ad accessig its data. 1 Log o to Widows NT with a valid user ID that has Admiistrator (SYSADM) authority. 2 Ru the First Steps utility. From the Widows taskbar, select Start, Programs, DB2 for Widows NT, ad First Steps. 1-9

16 DB2 istallatio 3 Click Create the SAMPLE database. Respod Yes to the prompt. Database creatio will take a few miutes. Click OK whe the database has bee successfully created. 4 Click View the SAMPLE Database o the mai pael of First Steps to select data from the sample database. This starts the Commad Ceter, allowig you to use the supplied script that shows some of the data from the database. Click o the Execute ico (the three blue gears) to begi the query. Close the widow whe the query is completed. 1-10

17 DB2 istallatio 5 Click Work with the Sample Database o the mai pael of First Steps to start the Cotrol Ceter. Expad the list to expose the tables i the SAMPLE database. This allows you to see the tables ad to perform ay actios o them. 1-11

18 DB2 istallatio 6 After you have verified the istallatio, you ca remove the sample database to free up disk space. Right-click o the table SAMPLE i the left colum (show i highlight i the display here) ad select the Drop optio. 7 This completes the DB2 UDB versio 5.2 istallatio process. Istallatio results Oce the istallatio is complete, the istallatio program has: Created DB2 program groups ad items (or shortcuts). Registered a security service. Updated the Widows registry. Created a default istace amed DB2, added it as a service, ad cofigured it for commuicatios. If you selected to automatically start the DB2 istace at boot time, the service s startup type was set to Automatic; otherwise, it was set to Maual. Created the DB2 Admiistratio Server, added it as a service, ad cofigured it so that DB2 tools ca admiister the server. The service s start type was set to Automatic. Activated First Steps followig the first boot after istallatio. 1-12

19 DB2 istallatio NOTE Added the cotrol ceter to the Startup meu. If you do ot wat it to start automatically, you ca remove it. If you used the default user ame db2admi, remember to chage the default password for this user ame. You must chage this password immediately followig the istallatio. 1-13

21 2 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 This chapter provides the requiremets ad procedure for istallig BaaERP. Istallatio requiremets This sectio provides the followig preistallatio iformatio: Hardware ad software requiremets Create the Widows NT user baa Elarge the evet log Istallatio cosideratios Hardware ad software requiremets To istall BaaERP, you eed the followig: BaaERP istallatio CD. Widows NT Server Versio 4.0 with Service Pack 4 or later. DB2 must be istalled ad ruig as described i Chapter 1. Approximately 3 GB of available disk space : Approximately 800 MB of disk space is eeded durig istallatio of the BaaERP applicatio. Oly about 400MB will actually be used oce the istallatio has completed ad all temporary istallatio files are removed. Note that BaaERP ca oly be istalled o a local NTFS-formatted file system. At least 1000 MB, but preferably 2000 MB of available disk space to accommodate the DB2 data ad log files for BaaERP. A fully loaded database eeds at least 800 MB for the tables ad should have at least a 100 MB trasactio log. Although these miimum sizes are sufficiet to perform the iitial istallatio, there will be little additioal space available for ew compaies or data growth. A etwork iterface card istalled ad cofigured. 2-1

22 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 NOTE Create the Widows NT user baa To add the Widows NT user baa, complete the followig steps: 1 Log o as a user with admiistrator rights. You must log o to the local server. 2 Create the baa user. Go to Start, Programs, Admiistrative Tools (Commo), ad User Maager or User Maager for Domais. Create a group for DB2 Admiistrators called db2adm. Create a ew user: baa. The user baa must iitially be created with password baa. After successfully istallig the BaaERP software, you may chage this password by usig the User Maager i Widows NT ad the Database Admiistratio sessios i Baa (see Appedix C). Click the Groups butto to assig baa to the followig groups: Users, Admiistrators, ad DB2 Admiistrators. 3 Ope the Cotrol Ceter. Go to Start, Programs, DB2 for Widows NT, Admiistratio Tools, ad Cotrol Ceter. 4 Highlight ad right-click the DB2 istace ico ad choose Cofigure. The Cofigure Istace dialog box appears. 2-2

23 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 5 Select the Admiistratio tab. Select System admiistratio authority group i the Parameter widow. Type DB2ADM i the Value widow ad click OK. A message iforms you that the DB2 istace must be stopped before the chages are active. 6 Click OK. The Cotrol Ceter dialog box appears. To stop ad restart the DB2 istace, right-click o the DB2 istace ico ad select Stop. Rightclick agai ad select Start. The chages are ow i effect. Elarge the evet log The Widows NT evet log must be elarged prior to istallig BaaERP. To elarge the evet log, do the followig: 1 From the Admiistrative Tools (Commo) program group, select Evet Viewer. 2-3

24 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 2 Select Log Settigs from the Log meu. 3 The Evet Log Settigs dialog box appears. Be sure that the Chage settigs for field specifies the Applicatio Log. 4 Chage the value i the Maximum Log Size field to Select Overwrite Evets as Needed. 6 Click OK ad close the Evet Viewer widow. Istallatio cosideratios What if your database exists before the BaaERP istallatio? The BaaERP istaller allows you to create a ew DB2 database or give the ame of a existig DB2 database to load the BaaERP data. It is recommeded that you allow the BaaERP istaller to create the database for you. The BaaERP istaller allows you to create a database with oe data file ad oe log file. If you have sophisticated database cofiguratio requiremets, you may create the database maually (see Appedix A) ad use that database ame durig the BaaERP istallatio. Both methods are described i the followig istallatio procedure. Multiple eviromet support Multiple BaaERP istallatios (or eviromets) per Widows NT system are supported i this release. You may chage the password for user baa after the istallatio The Widows NT user baa must have the password baa while performig the BaaERP istallatio. Oce you have completed the BaaERP istallatio, you may chage the password for user baa by usig the Widows NT User Maager ad the Maitai Database Users (ttdba0115m000) sessio i BaaERP s Database Admiistratio (DBA) module (described i Appedix C). 2-4

25 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 BaaERP istallatio procedure Perform the followig steps to istall BaaERP: 1 Close all ruig applicatios. 2 Log o as user baa. 3 Isert the BaaERP distributio CD-ROM i its device. The system automatically displays the Welcome dialog box if autoru is eabled. If you eed to perform a maual lauch of the Baa istallatio program, choose setup.exe i the I386 subdirectory of the Baa istallatio CD-ROM. 4 Click Next. The Software Licese Agreemet dialog box appears. 2-5

26 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 5 Click Yes to accept the licese agreemet. The Select Baa Software Eviromet dialog box appears. 2-6

27 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 6 Select Istall New Eviromet, eter a ame for the eviromet such as BaaERP (or some other uique ame), ad click Next. The Choose Destiatio Locatio dialog box appears. CAUTION You ca accept the default path or eter aother path (ot a root directory) by clickig the Browse butto. If the target directory does ot exist, you are asked if you wat to create it. The path that defies the destiatio locatio must ot cotai a space. Do ot eter a etwork drive as the target locatio of the BaaERP files. The BaaERP services will ot ru from a etwork drive. 2-7

28 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 7 Click Next. The Setup Type dialog box appears. You ca select oe of the followig optios: User Iterface. This is a BaaERP Widows cliet (BW). User Iterface ad Logic. This is referred to as the FAT cliet. Full (icludig applicatio files ad database). This is the complete BaaERP istallatio for Widows NT documeted here. 2-8

29 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 8 Select the Full setup type ad click Next. The Select Database to use dialog box appears. 2-9

30 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 9 Click IBM DB2 UDB versio 5 ad click Next. Do ot use cursor keys to select the database. The Baa User Password dialog box appears. NOTE If a error related to the db2adm.dll file displays at this poit, verify the followig coditios: The istallatio of the DB2 software is correct ad the db2qist.dll file exists o your path. 2-10

31 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 10 Type baa i the Password field, ad click Next. The Baa Group ame ad password dialog box appears. NOTE CAUTION I the Group field, the default ame is baadb (which is used as a example durig the rest of this istallatio procedure). The group ame is the ame of the DB2 database ad the password will be used for the database ower logi. The group ame must be lowercase, eight characters or less i legth, ad must ot cotai a space. If a database has ot yet bee created, accept the default group ame or type i aother group ame accordig to the rules specified i the Cautio statemet above. If the database has already bee created, type the database ame i the group field. I the Password field, type i a password that you wat to associate with the group. If you are usig the BaaERP istallatio to create a ew database, proceed to Step

32 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 If the DB2 database has already bee created, a message will appear askig if you wat to use the existig database. Click Yes, the go the sectio To lik a idex tablespace to BaaERP later i this chapter. 11 Click Next. The Database Optios dialog box displays. CAUTION I the Database drive field, type the drive letter where you wat the database to be created. Oly the drive letter is recogized. Etries such as D, D:, D:\ will have the same result. If o driver letter is specified, the database is created o the default database drive i DB2. I the Default Extet Size field, the default value is 32 (4K pages). The extet size parameter defies the default umber of pages that are writte before writig cotiues i aother extet or segmet. You ca accept the default value, or you ca chage this to 16 if there are cocers about availability of disk space for data ad idexes. If a extet value is ot a efficiet trade-off betwee the potetial for wastig space ad the cost of extedig a database object, you ca specify the extet size of tablespaces to a differet size at a later stage. Do ot eter a egative umber i the Default Extet Size field. 2-12

33 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 To accept the default database, click Next with o other chages ad bypass the ext sectio, Data ad idex tablespace alteratio. Baa will use the same tablespace, titled USERSPACE1, for both data ad idexes. This tablespace is a System-Maaged Space (SMS) type. To alter the defiitio of the tablespace, refer to the ext sectio, Data ad idex tablespace alteratio" for more iformatio. Data ad idex tablespace alteratio You ca adjust the data ad idex tablespaces from the Database Optios dialog box. The followig explais this process. Performace ehacemet I geeral, you are recommeded to have the Baa tables, idex data, ad the DB2 system catalogs o separate tablespaces o differet disks to improve performace. It is also recommeded to create the data ad idex tablespaces as Database Maaged Space (DMS) usig raw devices. For the best performace, tables for each package ca be stored i a differet tablespace ad/or the tables with the highest growth rate ca be separated from other tables ad placed i a tablespace with a larger extet size to avoid fragmetatio ad to allow tablespace level backup ad recovery. The SMS tablespace A SMS tablespace is cosidered of low maiteace because the space is cotrolled by the operatig system. SMS tablespaces are easy to create ad maage because the space allocated grows dyamically as eeded. Data ad idexes must be stored i the same tablespace. The DMS tablespace If you use Database-Maaged Space (DMS) tablespaces, you ca create separate spaces for data ad idexes ad you ca backup, restore, ad tue the performace of each space separately. The space is always preallocated ad additioal space ca be added as the data grows. For additioal details about tablespaces ad other database objects, see the IBM DB2 Uiversal Database documet, Admiistratio Gettig Started. 2-13

34 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 To alter the data ad idex tablespace 1 O the Database Optios dialog box, click Alter Defiitio for the Data Tablespace. The Defie Tablespace dialog box appears. CAUTION NOTE NOTE DB2 will use the USERSPACE1 tablespace as the data space ad the ame caot be chaged. 2 I the Extet Size field, type i a smaller extet size (8 or 16) for the tablespace if disk space availability is a cocer. 3 I the Prefetch field, you ca accept the default or type i a size that is a multiple of the extet size. The default value of 32 or 64 must be used. The prefetch size specifies the umber of pages that will be read from the tablespace whe data prefetchig is beig performed. Prefetchig reads i data eeded by a query before the data is beig refereced by the query, so that the query will ot wait for I/O to be performed. Do ot eter a egative umber i either Extet Size or Prefetch fields. Extet ad prefetch sizes are always measured i 4 KB pages. 4 Choose oe of the followig two optios: To create the tablespace as a SMS type, go to Step 5 i this procedure. To create the tablespace as a DMS type, go to Step 10 i this procedure. A DMS tablespace is required if you pla to create a Idex tablespace. 2-14

35 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 5 Click o Create as SMS. The Defie Cotaiers dialog box for SMS appears. NOTE 6 Type a cotaier i the Cotaier field. A cotaier is the allocatio of space to a tablespace ad must be a directory i which your database files will be created. Click BROWSE ad select a directory. 7 Whe the directory path is displayed i the Cotaier field, click Add Cotaier. The cotaier will appear i the Cotaier List field. To remove a cotaier, select the cotaier i the list ad click Drop Cotaier. You ca icrease the size of a tablespace by addig oe or more cotaiers to it. If you decide to add oe or more cotaiers, you must select it as you did for the first oe. It is advised that the cotaiers for a tablespace be allocated o differet disks to allow for data stripig. 8 Click OK whe you have completed your cotaier selectio. The Database Optios dialog box will reappear. 9 Click Next ad proceed to the sectio "Istallatio completio" later i this chapter. 2-15

36 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 10 Click o Create as DMS. The Defie Cotaiers dialog box for DMS appears. CAUTION NOTE 11 Type a cotaier i the Cotaier field. A cotaier is the allocatio of space to a tablespace ad ca be a file or device. You are advised to select Device as the cotaier type for better performace. Click BROWSE to help locate the file or device. The device must already exist. 12 I the Cotaier Size field, type i the size of the cotaier (i 4K pages). Do ot eter a egative umber i the Cotaier Size field. 13 Click Add Cotaier. The cotaier will appear i the Cotaier List field. You ca icrease the size of a tablespace by addig oe or more cotaiers to it. If you decide to add oe or more cotaiers, you must supply the same iformatio as you did for the first oe. It is advised that the cotaiers for a tablespace be allocated o differet disks to allow for data stripig. To remove a cotaier, select the cotaier i the list ad click Drop Cotaier. 14 Click OK whe you have completed your cotaier selectio. The Database Optios dialog box will reappear. 2-16

37 BaaERP istallatio for DB2 15 Choose oe of the followig two optios: If you do ot wat to set up a Idex tablespace, click Next ad proceed to the ext sectio Istallatio completio. If you wat to set up a Idex tablespace, click o Alter Defiitio for Idex Tablespace ad proceed to Step The Defie Tablespace dialog box for creatig a Idex tablespace appears. CAUTION The tablespace ame default is INDEX1. You ca chage the ame if desired. You ca also update the extet size ad prefetch values. Load Shared Memory at Startup Select this check box to load shared memory at system startup. Load as User Accept the default user baa. This defies the user accout that will be used to load shared memory. Diagostic optios Select Show all Messages, Errors Oly, or Silet. You ca look at the messages by usig the BaaERP Shared Memory Maager. Maitai shared memory timer The shared memory server will update the shared memory timer if you select this optio. 5 After you have recofigured shared memory, click OK to accept the chages, the click Close at the Shared Memory Maager scree. However, if the user will read or update iformatio that is stored i the RDBMS, they also eed to be set up as a database user. I this appedix, the Baa sessios for admiisterig the database user are described. A list of the available sessios is give i the sectio etitled Database admiistratio optios later i this appedix. Data dictioary, rutime files, ad the database server I BaaERP, there are three compoets that store database user iformatio: the Baa data dictioary, the Baa rutime files ad the database server. The RDBMS Admiistratio sessios directly update the Baa data dictioary which is cotaied i tables i the database. The Baa rutime files are files used by the database drivers to determie database user iformatio eeded to coect to the database server. The Usig BAAN optio provided i the RDBMS Admiistratio sessios allows you to create or update the database user or group iformatio withi the database server. Usig this optio lauches the <db>_mait utility, which makes the chages directly i the database server. Whe you add a ew database group with a RDBMS Admiistratio sessio, ote that a correspodig database (with the same ame as the group) must already exist i the database server before addig the database group i the RDBMS Admiistratio sessios. The RDBMS Admiistratio sessios do ot provide database creatio fuctioality. Database groups Each database user must be assiged to a Baa database group. The database group created durig the BaaERP istallatio is called baadb, by default. If you wat to add a ew group, you must first create the database maually usig the database server admiistratio tools. You ca the use the ame of the ew database as the ame of a database group you create i Baa. A Baa database group has attributes which defie such thigs as the database ame, ower, permissios, ad logi details. Each database product (e.g., Iformix, IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle) has its ow uique attributes that make up a group. For example, a Baa group i Microsoft SQL Server cosists of the followig attributes: baadb (database ame), baadb (DBO logi), ad baadbg (Microsoft SQL Server role). 6-2

The covert process always creates ad liks exactly oe database user to oe Baa user. You ca assig more tha oe Baa user to a sigle database user, but they must the be liked idividually. Database admiistratio optios Oe or more database groups must exist before ay database users ca be created. The BaaERP istaller automatically creates a database group durig the istallatio process (the default group ame is baadb). If you choose to set up the server-side database group iformatio maually with other database server admiistratio tools, you should select Usig other software i the Create Group list box. The database group s status is ot available i this case. The Status field will therefore show Ukow. Type the database group ame i the Database Group field. This must be the ame of a existig database.
