4 1 Introduction 1.1 Validity This document applies to the application. The descriptions in this document are based on software version 2.0. Illustrations in this document may differ from the actual product. Configuration and operation of the Android-Version correspond to the ios version in essence. 1.2 Documents Configuration and Operation (this document) The document Configuration and Operation contains detailed descriptions on configuration and operation of the application. The target audience is trained and authorized professionals (installers) as well as operators of the software. 1.3 Conventions The following warning word and symbol indicates potential sources of danger. NOTICE NOTICE indicates practices for preventing property damage, incorrect configurations or faulty operations. Various character formats are used to increase the clearness of the document: Instructions are indicated by arrows ( ). Expressions in bold and italics generally indicate a control element on the user interface (buttons, menu entries). Paragraphs in italics provide information on basic principles, special features and efficient procedures as well as general recommendations. 4

5 2 General Notes 2.1 Appropriate Use The application enables the mobile access to Dallmeier systems (DVR, NVR, server, cameras) with an ios system. You can conveniently access live images as well as the corresponding recordings on the go. Special transcoding prepares the images for an ideal display on the ios system and ensures a high frame rate at the same time. 2.2 Features The is characterized by the following functions and properties: Live and track access Camera list with preview images Resolutions QCIF, CIF, 4CIF or HD supported 1) Intuitive configuration and operation with multi-touch zoom Recording and snap shot function in live and track mode Separate settings for 3G / NTSC and Wifi operation Download counter with adjustable limit for cost control Controlling PTZ cameras and activation of relays and contacts Retrieval of the system status of recorders User interface in English or German 2.3 System Requirements Operating System Apple ios 9 or higher Supported Recorders Dallmeier SMAVIA Appliances version 9.x.x or higher Required License (Direct access) DLC - PRemote-HD 2) Required Server (Access by proxy) DMVC Server version or higher DMVC Enterprise Server version or higher IP cameras are not accessed directly but via a Dallmeier recorder. 2.4 Warranty The terms and conditions valid at time the contract was signed shall apply. 1) HD with 1 fps if the recording system is accessed directly. Depending on the camera up to 25 fps, if the recording system is accessed via a DMVC Server. 2) Access via a DMVC does not a PRemote license for the recorder. 5

6 3 Navigation After the start of the application, the Locations dialog will be displayed in its default state. Locations This option provides access to the display of defined appliances. Favorites Favorites are bookmarks for quick selection of defined cameras. Video With this option recordings of camera tracks recorded with the application can be viewed and managed. Snapshots This option contains snapshots (single images) of camera tracks made with the application. Recorders Here appliances are defined and configured. 6

7 3.1 Mobile Network Statistic (traffic) The Mobile Network Statistic dialog displays the data volume transferred by the application, and provides a download limit. This way the consumed mobile data volume can be restricted. ¾¾Tip the Mobile Network Statistic button (upper right) to open the dialog. Fig. 3-3 Download limit Downloaded Data (MB) Here the data volume transferred by the application is displayed. ¾¾Set the Downloaded data (MB) volume back to zero with the Reset button, if necessary Download Limit (MB) The application supports the setting of an internal download limit for 3G / UMTS connections. A warning is displayed when the limit is reached, yet a connection to the recorder is still possible. ¾¾Tip the number next to Download limit (MB). ¾¾Set a limit in MB. ¾¾Confirm with Ok. 7

8 3.2 Info Dialog The info dialog shows the App Id and enables access to information about 3rd party software licenses. Apart from that, a link offers quick access to the Dallmeier website. ¾¾Tip the Info button (upper right) to open the info dialog. Fig. 3-4 Info dialog 3.3 Language The language of the application adapts to the set up system language of the device. Setting the language up separately is not necessary. 8

9 4 Configuration To be able to use the functions of the the recorder and/or the cameras have to be configured for mobile access. ¾¾Ensure that the most recent version of the is used. ¾¾Load the most recent version of the from the App Store, if necessary 4.1 Add Recorder A Dallmeier recorder is defined by the specification of the corresponding access data within the application. The relevant access data differs depending on the access type, directly or via a DMVC Server. NOTICE The user rights of the used account are adopted from the recorder. Make sure to configure the corresponding rights and limitations directly on the recorder. ¾¾Open the. The (still empty) Locations dialog is displayed. Note that Dallmeier recorders and DMVC Server support DynDNS routers Direct Access The access data set in the recorder s user management are relevant if the recorder is connected directly to the network. ¾¾Enter as IP address internal. ¾¾Confirm with Next. ¾¾Enter the user name as Login name. NOTICE Use group as user name, if the recorder is operated in the group login mode. ¾¾Confirm with Next. ¾¾Enter the Password. ¾¾Confirm with Next. ¾¾Enter the external IP address of the recorder (router) as Server IP. ¾¾Confirm with Next. ¾¾Enter 3377 as Server port. ¾¾Confirm with Done. The Recorder dialog is displayed, and the recorder just configured is available under its Recorder name. It is also added to the Locations dialog. 10

11 4.1.2 Access via DMVC Server The access data defined in the DMVC Server are relevant if the recorder is connected to the network via a DMVC Server. ¾¾Enter the defined name of the recorder as IP address internal. ¾¾Confirm with Next. ¾¾Enter the defined name of the user (end device) as Login name. ¾¾Confirm with Next. ¾¾Enter the password of the user (end device) as Password. ¾¾Confirm with Next. ¾¾Enter the external IP address of the server (router) as Server IP. ¾¾Confirm with Next. ¾¾Enter 3377 (or the port corresponding to the network settings) as Server port. ¾¾Confirm with Done. The connection is established. The dialog Recorder is displayed, and the configured recorder is available under its Recorder name. He is also added to the Locations dialog Quality The quality of the received video depends on bit rate (kbit/s), frame rate (fps) and the chosen resolution. The higher their values are, the more bandwidth is consumed. Fig. 4-3 Adjust the bitrate under WIFI or UMTS quality with the slider, if necessary. Regulate the WIFI or UMTS framerate (in fps) with the slider, if necessary. The picture is fluid from a frame rate of 24 fps onward. After the input of the access data Full HD is set up for the video quality by default. This setting can be adjusted in the Locations dialog for individual cameras. These settings are valid for all cameras of the recorder. For the individual set up of a camera refer to Cameras on page

12 4.2 Recorder Editing/Deleting Configured recorders can be edited in Recorders dialog. ¾¾Tip the Menu button (upper left). ¾¾Tip the Recorder button. The recorder list is displayed. The dialogue for recorder configuration is displayed. ¾¾Proceed as described under Add Recorder on page 9. ¾¾For deleting a defined recorder, tip the Delete button ¾¾Confirm with Yes. for the necessary recorder. 12

13 4.3 System Status The application can request and display general information (e.g. temperature, fan speed) from the defined recorders. This information can be accessed though the Recorder dialog. ¾¾Tip the Menu button (upper left). ¾¾Tip the Recorder button. The recorder list is displayed. 14 4.4 Cameras The application supports individual names and formats for cameras without regard to the actual configuration of the corresponding recording system. ¾¾Click the Locations button in the navigation menu. 15 Fig. 4-9 Camera configuration ¾¾Make the required settings as described in the following. ¾¾Finally confirm with Save Camera Name The camera name can be set without reference to the actual configuration of the corresponding recording system. ¾¾Click the Camera name line. ¾¾Enter the desired name. ¾¾Confirm with Save Camera Resolution The image format for the display of the camera can be set without reference to the actual configuration of the corresponding recording system. The resolution for WiFi and UMTS can be selected separately. ¾¾Tip WiFi quality or UMTS quality to set the image format for each type of connection. The dialogue Change resolution is displayed. 16 5 Operation 5.1 Live Display The application supports quick and easy access to all cameras connected to the defined recorders. ¾¾Tip the Locations button in the navigation dialogue. 17 Note that the camera name and the time correspond the settings within the application. Both may differ from the settings on the recorder. The integrated tool bar offers further functions and access to the recorded images. 18 5.1.1 PTZ Control PTZ cameras are detected when displayed and indicated with the PTZ button. NOTE At present the control of PTZ cameras is only possible if the recording system is accessed directly (see point 4.2.1). Fig. 5-4 Detected PTZ camera ¾¾Tip the PTZ button to switch on the control. The PTZ button is displayed in blue and the preset bar is displayed in the lower part of the picture. 19 Presets This dialogue allows to select the presets (PTZ camera positions) previously defined on the recorder or on the camera. ¾¾Select the desired preset from the preset bar in the lower part of the picture to activate a defined preset. ¾¾Tip the PTZ button again to stop the control Relay Control Cameras that have been configured to trigger a contact IN interface are indicated with the I/O button. 20 5.2 Track display Similarly to live access the application supports quick and easy access to all recordings saved in LP-tracks (Longplay). ¾¾Establish the live access to a camera as described above. ¾¾Tip the Play button to activate the plackback tool bar. The Play button is displayed in blue, and the corresponding track will be activated. Note that the time is displayed corresponding to the recorder settings. It may differ from the application time. The current speed is displayed next to the tool bar on the right. Further controls behave according to live display mode (see Live Display on page 16). 20

21 5.3 Export Apart from the regular screen shot function of the operating system, the application supports the capture and export (JPEG) of each individual camera frame. Furthermore recordings of the live and playback tracks can be exported Screen Shot Besides the regular screen shot function of the operating system, the application supports capture and export (JPEG) of all displayed camera images. ¾¾Establish the access to a camera or track as described above. ¾¾Tip the Camera button. The currently displayed image is saved as JPEG. Images saved as JPEG can be viewed with the Photos application Recording Proceed as follows in order to record a sequence. ¾¾Establish the access to a camera or track as described above. ¾¾ip the Record button. 22 5.4 Videos Under Videos one can find a list of the sequences recorded with the Recording function on the device. 25 5.6 Favorites Cameras of special interest can be saved as favorites for convenient access (see Cameras on page 14). ¾¾Tip the Favorites button in the navigation menu to open the favorites list.
