4 1 Introduction 1.1 Validity This document is valid for the SEDOR ANPR Server software in conjunction with the SEDOR ANPR appliance. 5 2 General Notes 2.1 Appropriate Use SEDOR ANPR Server is an IP video analysis system for the automated detection and analysis of licence numbers in flowing or stationary traffic. The application of sophisticated analysis algorithms provides an extremely high analysis accuracy, even in adverse weather conditions or darkness. 2.2 Performance Features Detection of licence numbers in the video image Storage/Display of the results with images of the licence number and overview cameras Control of relays in response to specific licence numbers/profiles Reporting of certain (licence number) events to network receiver Integration of third-party systems via XML protocol Export of events into standard formats (e. g. 6 3 Login In order to activate the user interface for operation of the SEDOR ANPR Server, a user registration is required. The respective permissions of the groups decide this case on the available features. Operator (default settings): Only access to the user interface for operation with event list, monitor view, export of the current event list as an Excel *) list User name: Password: 3 operator Manager (default settings): Access to the user interface for operation with event list, monitor view, export of the event lists (archive and current events) as an Excel list Access to configuration functions: data management, system log, peripheral devices, vehicle profiles, lanes User name: Password: 6 manager 3.1 Operator Proceed as follows for the operator login: ¾¾Open the web browser. It is recommended to use the Mozilla Firefox *) (version 30.0) web browser in order to ensure optimal compatibility and presentation. ¾¾Enter the IP address of the SEDOR ANPR Server. ¾¾Confirm the input. 10 4 User Interface 4.1 Language The language of the user interface can be changed. Language Fig. 4-1 ¾¾Select in the Language area the required setting. The user interface will be automatically converted without rebooting. 10

11 4.2 Event List After the login and the activation of the user interface for operation the Event List is displayed: Views selection Fig. 4-2 Event filter selection Event list Users can define their own event list via the Event filter function (see section Event Filter on page 17). 12 ¾¾Filter the list of current events with search terms (Vehicle profile, License Number, Lane etc.) on the Search box if required. ¾¾Sort the list by columns in ascending or descending order by clicking the Sort list buttons: by Date / Time by order: Lane alphabetically: ANPR, Country, License Number, Vehicle profile ¾¾Move the mouse cursor in the Date / Time column on an event to Preview the recognition camera. ¾¾Click on an event in the Date / Time column in order to open it in the overview as an Event tab: The image of the recognition camera (right) is displayed together with the image of the overview camera (left). In addition to the columns of the event list, the vehicle profile information Group, Info 1 and Info 2 (if any) will be displayed at a event overview yet. An event is as long as available as an Event tab until the tab is deleted or a new event filter is activated. 13 4.3 Monitor View It is displayed by default so many monitor windows as lanes are defined. Users can define own views (number of monitor windows, display lanes and vehicle profiles in a monitor window) (see section Presets on page 23). In a monitor window the detected license number will be displayed along with the image of the recognition camera, in addition, the Date / Time of the event and the Vehicle profile. 14 5 Event List In the Event List all current events (up to 50 entries) are displayed in an overview. The list can be sorted in ascending or descending order by column, respectively, depending on the requirements of the evaluation. Furthermore, users can define their own Event filter with the individual display of vehicle profiles and lanes. In addition, a current event list can be exported as an Excel file. If a view (new Event filter ) is replaced, the current list of all displayed events is removed. The evaluation starts again from scratch with the new list. An Event list thus always displays all current live events. But in the Archive all events are stored and can be evaluated there. 5.1 Operation The user interface is displayed depending on the user s permissions. After login, and activating the user interface for operation the evaluation starts automatically with the Event List display mode and the Event filter All Events. Fig. 5-1 ¾¾Select from the Show dropdown box the number of entries to be displayed per page if required. The maximum of 50 event entries in an Event List are represented. Is the maximum number of entries reached and a new event is detected, the last event is removed from the list. ¾¾Switch with Previous / Next or the page numbers buttons between the pages of the event entries. While navigating on the event pages a new event is detected, the display automatically jumps to the first page to the new event. ¾ ¾ Enter a search term (Vehicle profile, License Number, Lane etc.) in the Search box in order to search the list for the respective terms and to filter the list. 14

15 The event list is reset on the display of the current events after the deletion of a search term in the Search box. ¾¾Sort the Event List as described in section Functions on page 11 if required. ¾¾Click on an event in the Date / Time column in order to view the event in an overview tab. Fig. 5-2 ¾¾Keep the overview tab for later analysis in the tab row or delete that via the x button (see section Event Tabs on page 16) if required. ¾¾Click Events in order to return to the Event List. ¾¾Export a current Event List using the Export button as Excel file if required (see section Export Event List on page 19). ¾¾Select a new Event filter in order to display current events with the therein defined settings. 16 When a new Event filter is selected, the results of the previous event list are complete (including overview tabs) deleted. In order to save the current results of an event filter, the list can be exported (see section Export Event List on page 19). ¾¾Use the new Event filter as described above. In order to create event filters see section Event Filter on page Event Tabs Event messages can be viewed as an event tab in an overview and stored for later analysis. ¾¾Select the Event List view. Saved event tabs Fig. 5-4 ¾¾Move the mouse over an event in the Date / Time column in order to display a preview of the event. ¾¾Click on the Date / Time of an event in order to display the event in an overview. 16

17 An event tab provides extensive information about the event. In addition, the overview and the recognition camera are displayed with the Date / Time, ANPR system, Lane, Vehicle profile, License Number, Group, Info 1 and Info 2. Fig. 5-5 Overview camera Recognition camera ¾¾Click the x button of an event tab in order to remove the event tab if required. ¾¾Open other stored event tabs if required. ¾¾Click Events in order to return to the Event List. 5.3 Event Filter The Event filter function allows to define event list with criteria from vehicle profiles and lanes. Defined event lists are associated with the user, who created them, and stored in the user profile. This user only has access to the event lists stored in his user profile Create Proceed as follows in order to create an Event filter: New event filter Fig. 5-6 Edit ¾¾Click the New event filter button. 17

18 The New View entry is displayed. ¾¾Click the Edit button of the entry. The dialog for configuring the new event filter is displayed. Fig. 5-7 The event filter is defined in the Criteria area: ¾¾Enter an appropriate Name for the event filter. ¾¾Select the required vehicle profiles (multiple entries possible). ¾¾Select certain lanes additionally if required. ¾¾Click Execute in order to display a real-time evaluation of the selection made in the lower area. ¾¾Change settings for vehicle profiles or lanes if required. ¾¾Click Clear in order to remove all settings completely if required. ¾¾Finally, click Save in order to save the event filter. After saving the view of the event filter is displayed. ¾¾Proceed as described above in order to create additional event filters. 18

19 5.3.2 Delete Event Filter Proceed as follows in order to delete an Event filter: Fig. 5-8 Delete ¾¾Select from the Event filter list the required entry. ¾¾Click the Delete button. The entry is deleted from the Event filter list. 5.4 Export Event List A current event list can be exported as Excel file and evaluated with an appropriate application (such as Microsoft Excel). ¾¾Click Export. Fig ¾¾Select Export as Excel file. The download process in the browser is started. ¾¾Save or open the file via the browser dialog. 19

21 6 Monitor View The Monitor View allows to display events on the tracks directly with the image of the overview camera. In addition, each monitor can be configured by lanes and / or vehicle profile. Also, various Monitor presets can be saved with differently defined monitor views. These are stored with the user profile and available to the respective user. If a view (new monitor preset) is replaced, the current view with all displayed events is removed. In the new monitor preset begins the analysis again. A Monitor View thus always shows only all current live events. In the Archive, all events are stored and can be evaluated there. 6.1 Operation Follow the steps below in order to use a Monitor View for the evaluation of live events: ¾¾Select Monitor View in the View box. The user interface of the monitor views will be displayed for the first time without preferences. There are so many monitors initially displayed as lanes are defined. Fig. 6-1 ¾¾Configure each monitor (see below) for the display of live events. 21

22 In order to view events on a monitor, it has to be configured: Delete Fig. 6-2 ¾¾Select one or multiple vehicle profiles from the drop-down box that will be displayed on the monitor if required. ¾¾elect from the adjacent drop-down box a lane. For displaying events on a monitor, a lane must be selected. The additional choice of vehicle profiles is optional. The evaluation starts with the specified settings on the monitor: Fig

23 ¾¾Follow the same procedure as described above in order to configure additional monitors for the Monitor View: Fig. 6-4 ¾¾Completely delete a monitor from the view using the x button if required. 6.2 Presets Individual monitor views for the evaluation can be defined and saved for a quick activation. These are assigned to the user profile with wich the monitor views are created Create Follow the steps below in order to create a monitor view and save it. ¾¾Click the + button in the Monitor presets box. 24 The Configuration dialog of the chosen selection is displayed. Fig. 6-6 ¾¾Enter an appropriate name in the Name of the monitor box for the new Monitor View. ¾¾Make the required settings for vehicle profile and lane for each monitor as described above. ¾¾Expand the displayed monitors using Add monitor if required. ¾¾Remove the a monitor via x button if required. ¾¾Finally, click Save. The new monitor view is displayed in the Monitor presets list: Fig Delete Proceed as follows in order to delete a saved monitor view. Delete ¾¾Click the Delete button. 24

26 7 Archive The Archive provides extensive queries of the event database. It can be searched for license numbers, vehicle profiles, lanes and the period of search can be defined. The query terms can be combined with each other. In addition, recurring Queries can be stored for a quick activation. 7.1 Create Queries ¾¾Select Archive in the Views box. The search mask Criteria for archive queries is displayed. Fig. 7-1 ¾¾Enter in the Licence Number box a search term if required. It can be searched specifically for a particular licence number or for part of strings with variables for licence number patterns. Examples: % = all licence numbers R-% = all licence numbers from Regensburg R-%100 = all licence numbers from Regensburg with detection part number number 100 If the REG checkbox is activated regular expressions can be used for the query. For the search with variables or regular expressions, see the document Configuration SEDOR ANPR Server. ¾¾Select the required Period. ¾¾Select one or multiple Vehicle Profiles if required. ¾¾Select one or multiple Lanes if required. ¾¾Click Execute in order to start the query. 26

27 The output (maximum 1000 events) of the query is displayed in the Result window: Fig. 7-2 Sample query ¾¾Evaluate the results of the query in the Result window as described in section Operation on page 14. ¾¾Export the query results to an Excel file as described in section Export Event List on page 19. ¾¾Start on New another database searching if required. 7.2 Unknown Vehicle Profile It can be queried all configured vehicle profiles in the database separately or combined. The profile for unknown licence numbers / events (default name: UNKNOWN) can be filtered, however, only in the event list with displaying of all current events. ¾¾Select in the Views box the Event List selection. ¾¾Select as Event filter the All Events display. In the event list the current events are indicated, as well as they are detected. ¾ ¾ Enter the name in the Search field of the unknown vehicle profile (default name: UN- KNOWN). 27

28 The event list is displayed with all events of the unknown vehicle profile. Fig. 7-3 ¾¾Evaluate the results of the query as described in section Operation on page 14. ¾¾Delete the keyword in the Search box in order to return to the display of all current events. 7.3 Save Query A search in the event database can be saved for further queries. The query is started again. The results are displayed.
