For those of you back from summer vacation, we hope you were able to join us for the annual Mixed Members Golf Tournament July 11th and our thanks to Lorne Brackenbury for a well organized event.

Also upcoming will be our annual Edmonton Eskimos BBQ and Tailgate party against Calgary September 10th. Join us for an amazing view of the game at field level.

Our social and technical events strive to allow you to meet others in our industry, to share information, ideas and perhaps network. Join us as our meetings are averaging 45+ attendees.

For those of you back from summer vacation, we hope you were able to join us for the annual Mixed Members Golf Tournament July 11th and our thanks to Lorne Brackenbury for a well organized event. We re all looking forward to our 1 st annual Corporate Golf Tournament August 27 th and our thanks to Gordon Krug/Telematic Controls for stepping up. Also upcoming will be our annual Edmonton Eskimos BBQ and Tailgate party against Calgary September 10th. Join us for an amazing view of the game at field level. There may be slots available at both events check this newsletter further. This year s events begin with a look at Safety Systems - the people element. We have an interesting program that will include a look at the BP blowout, alarm management, hydrocarbon measurement and oilsands updates. Hats off to the program committee headed by Havelock Thompson/HT Automation for putting together the program. With great sadness, we would like to remember Ernie Wirtanen, who passed away August 6 th at the age of 91 years. Ernie was a great supporter of the ISA and someone I d known some 25 years. His energy and enthusiasm were unbelievable in the last 20 years. His family has asked that any donations be made to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation and condolences to We have a number of new additions to the executive. These include Kurt Trefiak/Total Analytical - who ll start the Analytical Division, Gordon Krug/telematic - Corporate Golf and Marketing, Blaine Barnes Professional Development, Rod Corbett/Shell Membership, Dion Dube/Enbridge Website, Aaron Boser/Nait and Stevan Dubljevic/ UofA Student. Wally Ingham/Stantec (a past president) will be forming the inaugural Water/Wastewater Division. Our thanks to the returning board members that help to make this a successful ISA section.
