Bihl+Wiedemann, a specialist manufacturer of components for AS-i applications, now have available AS-i slave modules for Siemens COMBIMASTER and MICROMASTER Inverters. These allow simple connection of the inverter to the AS-i bus, using the standard USS interface of the inverter, resulting in simplificaton of wiring and more flexible control compared with conventional methods. 3 AS-i Slave for MICROMASTER AS-i Slave for COMBIMASTER by SIEMENS easy control via preset speeds memorization of parameters inside the slave setpoint value via AS-i analog protocol for Micromaster for Combimaster Article no for MICROMASTER by SIEMENS (Protection class IP20) Article no for COMBIMASTER by SIEMENS (Protection class IP65) The AS-i slaves with serial interface for data exchange and configuration of COMBIMASTER and MICROMASTER make an easy connection of COMBIMASTER and MICROMASTER to the AS- Interface possible. The serial AS-i slaves consist of an AS-i 4I/4O module as bus interface and an additional serial interface. The USS protocol is implemented in the slave. With different AS-i parameters the operating mode of the slave can be changed (AS-i master call: write parameter). 1. Cyclic -Mode (AS-i Parameter = F hex) The 4 AS-i data bits represent tight procedures. Upload and Download of inverter parameter sets (AS-i Parameter E hex) The AS-i slave with serial interface can upload and download the parameter sets of the COMBIMASTER and MICROMASTER with AS-i parameter E hex. The operations are controlled by the AS-i data bits. output data bit 0: output data bit 1: input data bit 0: input data bit 1 input data bit 2: start (rising edge) 1 Upload, 0 Download 1 operation runs 0 operation does not run 1 operation finished 0 operation not finished error Attention: In Parameter 971 of the inverter, the user can decide, if the parameters will be stored inside the EEPROM or only inside the RAM of the inverter. Free adjustable preset speed 5 (AS-i Parameter: = B hex) With AS-i Parameter B the free adjustable preset speed 5 and a ramp can be transmitted to the frequency inverter using the 12 bit AS-i analog protocol (7.1).To activate preset speed 5 the AS-i Master has to switch to AS-i Parameter F and use the bit combination 111X or 010X. Preset speed 5 and ramp are transmitted via two-channel-analog profile (preset speed: channel 0, ramp: channel 1). The ramp transmitted to the inverter via the serial interface can reach values between 200 ms and 650s in steps of 0,2s (value 1-CB2hex). T ramp = hexadecimal value * 0,2s The ramp will be used for all Preset speeds under AS-i parameter F and it is stored in parameter 2 of the inverter. Preset speed 5 can reach values between 0,2Hz and 650Hz in steps of 0,2Hz (value 1-CB2 hex). Preset speed 5 = hexadecimal value * 0,2Hz 5. Controlled by setpoint value (AS-i Parameter = C hex) With AS-i Parameter C the frequency inverter is controlled by a setpoint value or a ramp as 8 bit value using the AS-i analog protocol 7.1 (Bit 9 = 0: setpoint value, Bit 9 = 1: ramp). The ramp transmitted to the inverter via the serial interface can reach values between 400 ms and 80 s in steps of 0,4s (value 1-CB hex). T ramp = hexadecimal value * 0,4s The ramp will be used for all preset speeds under AS-i parameter F and it is stored in parameter 2 of the inverter. The setpoint value can reach values between 3,2Hz and 650Hz in steps of 3,2Hz (value 1-CB hex). Preset speed 5 = hexadecimal value * 3,2Hz While using the 8 bit analog profile, the bus timeout function is permanently active.
