Phase I -Long Range Facilities Master Plan: Bond material

Scheme I Pros Great street presence /visibility of new construction Good southern exposure/views Familiar as shown in LRFMP Ability to secure classroom wing after hours Cons Safety & Security: sprawling layout /too many entrances/exterior circulation/difficult to lock down without fencing Requires temporary relocation of all classrooms in portables for +1 year = added cost Safety during construction year is extremely difficult Extended construction duration/disruption of students Lack of connection to CTE spaces/sub-optimal circulation overall

Scheme II Pros Phasing can reduce or eliminate number of portables Limits construction duration/disruption Safety & Security: student circulation internalized/reduce and secure entries Connection to CTE programs/support career track students Optimal circulation: academic wing is in the heart of the school supports purpose Connection to secured outdoor learning space Ability to secure classroom wing after hours Cons The bulk of the addition is hidden from view from Boones Ferry/Grim Road Limited southern exposure/views

Scheme III Pros Phasing can reduce or eliminate number of portables Limits construction duration/disruption Good southern exposure/views Cons Safety & Security: sprawling layout /too many entrances/exterior circulation/difficult to lock down without fencing Lack of connection to CTE spaces Poor circulation/inappropriate adjacencies Inability to secure classroom wing after hours

Scheme II chosen for further development Pros Phasing can reduce or eliminate number of portables Limits construction duration/disruption Safety & Security: student circulation internalized/reduce and secure entries Connection to CTE programs/support career track students Optimal circulation: academic wing is in the heart of the school supports purpose Connection to secured outdoor learning space Ability to secure classroom wing after hours Cons The bulk of the addition is hidden from view from Boones Ferry/Grim Road Limited southern exposure/views

Example Massing Views from Boones Ferry NOT A PRELIMINARY DESIGN This is an example of how massing of the Admin area can wrap the building and address the view from Boones Ferry

New materials could wrap side of Gym II to tie old/new together

Example of 1 ½ story massing of Admin area to balance height of Gym I and Gym II beyond

Massing, and materials clearly delineate entry Addresses corner of Grim and Boones Ferry Covered walkway directs circulation
