3 ABOUT OASIS Our mission OASIS provides program opportunities for the community, with an emphasis on serving the aging population. Our structure & funding OASIS is an independent nonprofit organization. We are funded through private donations, event income, and community grants. And we rely on volunteers to help drive many of our activities. Our work We work to educate and encourage a change in attitude among the public at large regarding the status of senior citizens in our community. We work to prevent conditions that may lead to seniors becoming inactive, lonely, neglected or abused. We work to enhance the delivery, coordination and development of services for senior citizens and their families. We work to provide ongoing community support of senior citizens and senior services. 3
4 BRANDING...Primary logo The spiral The mission of OASIS Inc. is to connect with the entire community and to provide social, educational and cultural opportunities to people preserve and improve their quality of life. The OASIS logomark is a spiral surrounded by a capital O. In symbology, the spiral shape often represents connectivity, development, evolution and growth. The type The public image of OASIS Inc. is as a welcoming and trusted member of the community. To emphasize and clearly communicate this idea, the wordmark is set in a large easy-to-read typeface and informally set in lowercase. 4

6 BRANDING... Alternate logos Orientation There are three approved variations of the OASIS logo: vertical, horizontal and the lockup. These should meet the needs of any given application. The vertical logo is preferred and should be used whenever possible. The horizontal logo may be used when spatial constraints require. The lockup version can be used in large formats where the tagline will remain legible. Color When the logo is displayed on dark backgrounds, use the appropriate white version. In the case of light backgrounds, use a brown version. The black version is reserved for the need for extreme contrast and/or in black-and-white printing. The brown logo is preferred and should be used whenever possible. 6

8 BRANDING... Logo clear space & minimum size Clear space It is essential to maintain sufficient space around the logo. This ensures that the logo is clearly recognizable and has a strong visual impact. Maintain a clear space of at least the height of oasis text at all times around the entire logo, keeping it clear from other text, images and the edge a document page. Minimum size The logo can be enlarged proportionally to any size. However, for ideal legibility in print and web, the logo should not be scaled below the minimum size shown. 8

10 BRANDING... Incorrect use of the logo Some no-nos The size and color relationship of the different elements logomark, wordmark and the optional tagline and their position in relation to one another should never be changed. In simple terms, do not alter the logo in any way. These rules apply to all versions of the OASIS logo: horizontal, vertical and vertical with tagline. A note about resolution & file formats For most purposes, hi-res indicates a file that is 300dpi (dots per inch) or greater. This applies to raster format files, e.g., TIF, JPEG, PNG, PSD. Vector format, on the other hand, has no resolution and will print well at any size with no loss of detail. This is the preferred file type for typography and logos. Only use vector files for printing. 10
11 Do not use a lo-res version. Do not use a white box around logo. Do not rotate logo. Do not stretch logo. Do not change the colors. Do not use grayscale. Do not apply effects to logo. Do not change logo. Do not place on busy backgrounds. 11
12 TYPOGRAPHY... Preferred typefaces There are two typefaces associated with the OASIS brand, each with specific uses. Playfair Display Playfair should be used for headlines, titles and subheadings in OASIS documents and on the website. It may be used in all uppercase or lowercase when appropriate. Playfair Display Black may also be used, but Regular is preferred. Open Sans Open Sans should be used for smaller subheads, body copy, any smaller text. There are several weights, any of which may be used, as long as text remains legible. Regular and Light work best for ordinary body text. Both typefaces are available free online:
13 Playfair Display Playfair is a serif typeface influenced by the classic type Baskerville. It has an extra large x-height and short descenders. Note: In case Playfair Display is absolutely not available, Calisto MT may be used as a subsitute. It was optimized for print, web, and mobile interfaces, and has excellent legibility. Note: In case Open Sans is absolutely not available, Tahoma may be used as a subsitute. 14 COLORS... Pantone colors The OASIS brand colors are chocolate brown, golden yellow, true blue, and kelly green. Primary color OASIS brown is the most prominent color in our brand. It is a serious, down-to-earth color signifying stability, structure and support. Secondary colors Our secondary colors complement OASIS brown. Use them to draw attention to key pieces, but sparingly, as overuse will diminishes their effect and disrupts the visual hierarchy of our communications. On the website, blue is the action color signifying links, buttons and other elements a user can interact with. The colors shown in these guidelines have not been evaluated by Pantone Inc. for accuracy and may not match the PANTONE Publication for accurate color. PANTONE is the property of Pantone Inc. 14
