4 Release Ntes This dcument prvides an verview f the mst imprtant enhancements and changes in the 2018 versin f the PROFITstar and PROFITability prgrams. Imprtant Things t Knw Abut the 2018 Editin Sftware Versining Change T be cnsistent with ur crprate sftware versining standards, PROFITstar and PROFITability will n lnger use letters t identify peridic minr versins. Nw, ur sftware releases display an annual versin fllwed by an incremented build number. When a new versin is annunced, refer t these Release Ntes ( t see if yur institutin needs the enhancements and fixes it cntains. User Accunt Lckuts In the 2018 versin, security administratrs nw have cmprehensive cntrl ver hw passwrds are handled in the prgram. As part f this enhanced functinality, users will be lcked ut f the prgram if they haven t lgged in fr a certain number f days. The Accunt idle lckut in days setting, n the Security Optins tab f the User Setup screen, cntrls this. Fllwing the 2018 installatin, it is imprtant fr an administratr t g t Setup > User Permissins > Security Optins tab and check that Accunt idle lckut in days is set t a value that is apprpriate fr the institutin s users. Knwn Issues Avid Using the Arial Unicde MS Fnt fr PDF Reprts If yu have the Arial Unicde MS fnt installed and yu use it t generate a Reprt Writer reprt as a PDF file, the utput will appear t be crrupt and PROFITstar will clse, with n displayed errr. (There are n errrs when such a reprt is just previewed r printed.) The same bad behavir is seen if yu select this fnt when setting up Variance Reprt clumns and then yu send the Variance reprt t a PDF file. 5 Rate Scenaris Selectin in Reprt Wizard After mving t the 2018 versin, sme clients have received an errr when attempting t preview r save an IRSA r Fair Value Dcumentatin reprt. If this ccurs, return t the Reprt Wizard Selectin tab and chse a different scenari frm the Rate Scenaris list. Previewing r saving the reprt fr a different scenari crrects the prblem. When yu reselect the first scenari and generate the reprt, the errr shuld nt ccur again. Recent Bug Fixes The mst imprtant fixes included in recent versins f the prgram are dcumented in the Fixed in 2018 sectin f this dcument. 6 Technical Change - SQL Express Supprt Prfitstar Server Installatin Can Nw Als Install SQL Express During the Prfitstar Server installatin the prgram will determine if an instance f SQL Server is already installed n the targeted server. If nt, the installer will add a few steps. First, select the statements that are true fr yur institutin. If yu select bth, then additinal infrmatin is displayed. Select the Install SQL Express check bx if yu want t prceed. When yu click Next at the bttm f the page, the SQL Express installatin will run, withut any interventin required. The SQL Express 2016 installer installs a database engine that supprts up t 10 GB per database. If yur institutin will be using SQL Express, yu shuld als dwnlad and install SQL Server Management Studi (SSMS), frm: This is a separate and free sftware installatin. (Running Time 4:56) Versin Released 08/30/18 Reprt Wizard Selecting FV - Int Rate Risk Expsure Reprt Scenaris - nly When requesting the FV - Int Rate Risk Expsure reprt, the Selectin tab nw lets yu chse the scenaris t include in the reprt. 8 Versin Released 07/13/18 Risk Analysis Save IRSA Scenaris as Mdels - nly In place f the pre-2018 Cpy t Prjectins functinality, yu can nw calculate the IRSA matrix, right-click a rw in the grid, and save a scenari as a new mdel. T d this, chse Save Scenari as a Mdel, frm the right-click menu, t pen this Save dialg bx. Supply a mdel name and click OK t create a new mdel frm the active mdel's data, which will have a prjectin based n the IRSA results frm the selected scenari. When the new mdel is created, nly data fr the current rganizatin is cpied. See IRSA and Fair Value Changes fr mre infrmatin. Reprt Wizard Prduct Prfit Reprts - nly Tw changes have been made t the new Prduct Prfit reprts, which were intrduced in : 1. Amunts that cme frm accunts withut assigned special cdes are nw placed in an Uncded Expense line, immediately preceding Net Incme. Previusly, these amunts went t either Uncategrized Incme r Uncategrized Expense lines n the reprts. 2. The Prduct Prfit Per Accunt reprt nw shws the prduct cst figures in dllars and cents s that the smaller values are meaningful. In additin, nly the Average Balance and Number f Accunts values n the reprt can be frmatted t display as either Whle dllars r Thusands. 9 Versin Released 05/01/18 CECL Integrating CECL Lan Lss Rates int Prjectins Financial institutins that are licensed fr the CECL Analysis and Reprting slutin, in the Financial Perfrmance Suite (FPS), can nw dwnlad their lan lss rates int PROFITstar. This makes it pssible fr yu t integrate CECL lss rates int yur PROFITstar prjectins, where yur allwance fr lan and lease lss balances will be autmatically calculated. T accmplish this, new menu cmmands, settings, and reprts have been added: Tls > CECL Integratin > Setup is used fr a ne-time FPS Integratin sign-in. Tls > CECL Integratin > Dwnlad is used t bring CECL lan categries and the lan lss rates int PROFITstar. (This can als be dne as a step in the Update Wizard.) Setup > Chart f Accunts > Advanced tab > CECL is used t pair CECL lan categries with balance sheet lan accunts. Tw new CECL ptins are nw available in Setup > Preferences > Mdel Setup tab > Aut Allwance fr Lan Lss. Three new CECL reprts can be fund at Reprt Wizard > Dcumentatin Reprts > CECL. 10 Risk Analysis IRSA and Fair Value Redesigned and Imprved - The appearance and functinality f IRSA and Fair Value has been redesigned and imprved fr the 2018 release. nly Pwerful enhancements nw give yu the ability t: Create Shck interest rate scenaris, in Manage Scenaris. When Shck rate scenaris are used, accunts that are nt using key rate ties, limits, and frmulas are shcked in parallel. Create Custm frecasts f all key rates and ffering rates, which are saved bth as IRSA/FV scenaris and as quick prjectins. Reapply the scenaris mnth after mnth since the settings and prjected key rates and ffering rates persist. Include as many scenaris in each IRSA r Fair Value simulatin run as yu need. Shck r stress test yur assumptins by applying whle-mdel changes t decay and prepayment speeds, as well as key rate tie betas and key rate tie lags. These ptins are set in Calculatin Optins. Select specific scenaris t include in several Risk Analysis reprts using the new Rate Scenaris setting n the Reprt Wizard's Selectin tab. Release Ntes Jack Henry & Assciates, Inc.

11 The scenaris that are initially displayed are the system-generated scenaris (Prjectin, Flat Rates, and Bk Value fr Fair Value) and thse that were created frm yur previus scenaris, during the cnversin prcess. IRSA and Fair Value Changes - nly The last calculatin results fr IRSA and Fair Value are nt cnverted. These calculatins will need t be run again in 2018 befre results will be available. Other imprtant IRSA and Fair Value changes that yu shuld be aware f are listed belw. Items marked as "Pre-2018" have been replaced with different functinality in the current versin: Shck Scenaris Rate scenaris were cnverted t shck scenaris that shuld prduce the same results. Pre Previus scenari names are cnverted t names that describe the characteristics f the shck. Fr example, in a pre-2018 versin, if Scenari E was set t drp 50 basis pints, ver 2 mnths, with the rate shck delay set t 3 mnths, then the cnverted name will be: Dwn 50bp Shck ver 2 m in 3 m. Cpy t Prjectins (Pre-2018) While this buttn n lnger appears in the IRSA matrix, in 2018 yu can right-click a rw in the grid and chse t Save Scenari as a Mdel. This actin creates a new mdel with a prjectin based n the selected scenari. Anther way t bring an IRSA scenari int Prjectins is t create a custm scenari and then run it as a User-Defined distributin actin in Prjectins. Include/Exclude Check Bxes (Pre-2018) These check bxes are nt needed since yu can chse which scenaris t use in Manage Scenaris. Mdel IRSA and Fair Value are nw always calculated fr the current mdel. Strategies Buttn (Pre-2018) Saved prjectin strategies are nt used in IRSA r Fair Value since yu can nw achieve the same thing with Custm Rate Scenaris (including shcking Yield Curve Twists). 12 Rate Shift Methd (Pre-2018) Shck scenaris always apply parallel rate shifts nw. Create custm scenaris if yu need t apply specific shcks t individual rates. Rerdering the Matrix (Pre-2018) The ld functinality is nt needed since yu can nw arrange the rws in any rder yu want, in Manage Scenaris. Reprt Writer Reprts and User Defined Graphs References t IRSA and Fair Value results will need t be updated since scenari names have changed, and IRSA and Fair Value scenaris may be different. Select Scenaris (Pre-2018) Since yu can nw include an unlimited number f IRSA and Fair Value scenaris in yur calculatin, this functinality is nt needed. Nte: If after reviewing these changes, yu prefer t use the pre-2018 interface fr IRSA and Fair Value, yu can d this by selecting Use Legacy Risk Analysis, n the General Settings tab f Preferences Setup. Mnthly Update Cpying Histry and Maturity/Repricing t Other Mdels In the 2018 versin, yu can nw d yur mnthly update nce and then cpy yur updated Histry and Maturity/Repricing data t ther What If mdels. The prerequisites are that all the mdels invlved are linked mdels and that the current mnths f the mdels are cmpatible. T accmplish this, switch t a linked mdel that yu want t cpy data int. Then, g t File > Cpy >Histry and chse the surce mdel frm the list f linked mdels. This actin des nt affect any mdel settings r the Budget mdule. In additin, in Prjectins, yur base prjectin with its assumptins will still be intact, althugh the current mnth values will change. Release Ntes Jack Henry & Assciates, Inc.

13 SQL Supprt Running the 2012 Data Cnversin After Installing SQL Express If yu run the Data Cnversin utility at the end f the server installatin, and yu installed SQL Express, the SQL Server cmputer name (lacalhst\prfitstarsql) and the SQL Server database name (PrfitstarData) will be autmatically filled in fr yu. The default values are editable. A New Database Functins Tl Has Been Added t the File Menu The File menu's new Database Functins ptin replaces the previus Backup Database cmmand. If yu are running SQL Express, in additin t being able t back up yur database, yu will als be able t restre and delete backups if yu have permissin t Restre/Manage backups. This setting is fund in the DB Backup Settings area f the User Permissins Settings tab. Release Ntes Jack Henry & Assciates, Inc.

14 Users running ther versins f SQL can use Database Functins t back up their SQL database. If any f these users need t have access t the restre and backup functinality fund in Database Functins, a cnfiguratin file mdificatin is required, in additin t the activatin f the Restre/Manage backups user permissin. Please cntact yur client supprt analyst fr assistance. Passwrds and User Permissins Passwrd Handling Is Mre Rbust and Secure Security administratrs nw have cmprehensive cntrl ver hw passwrds are handled in the prgram. The passwrd Security Optins, intrduced in the 2018 versin, include the fllwing features: Retry lgin lckut cunt Passwrd reuse limit cunt Passwrd expires in days Temp Passwrd expires in days Accunt idle lckut in days * Passwrd minimum length Authrized dmains Passwrd cmplexity enabled * Fllwing the 2018 installatin, it is imprtant fr an administratr t check the Accunt idle lckut in days setting and change it, if necessary, t a value that is apprpriate fr their users. Other changes t passwrd functinality include: User names can n lnger be used as passwrds. Temprary passwrds are generated by the prgram and are autmatically ed t users, s administratrs n lnger see anyne else's passwrds. Users can nw change their wn passwrds by prmpting the system t them a temprary passwrd frm either the Setup > Change Passwrd cmmand r the Lgin Screen > Frgt Passwrd ptin. The date f the last passwrd change is displayed n each mdule's secndary tlbar. A User Security Settings reprt has been added, which is available frm the User Management tab. 15 Each User Must Be Assciated with an Address T supprt the imprved security features available in the 2018 versin f the prgram, an address must nw be assciated with every user. This makes it pssible fr passwrd and address-related user ntificatins t be autmatically ed, either thrugh a secure, clud-based server r by way f the lcal system. G t Setup > Preferences > General Settings tab > t change the preferred setting. Initial Setup The first time that existing users lg int PROFITstar 2018, they will be asked t prvide an address. Fllw these steps t cmplete this prcess: 1. Enter yur address in the bx prvided. 2. When yu d this, a validatin cde is sent t yur address. Release Ntes Jack Henry & Assciates, Inc.

16 3. If yur sessin in PROFITstar is still active, a Validate dialg bx will immediately appear. Cpy and paste the validatin cde and then click Validate. The message, Validated, will appear in the bx if the cde entered is valid. Click Resend if a new validatin cde is needed. 4. If the dialg bx is clsed withut cmpleting the validatin prcess, a Validate cmmand is added t the Setup menu. In additin, whenever the prgram is clsed and repened, the Validate bx will cntinue t be presented until the is validated. Changing Yur Address After an address is assciated with yur user name, yu can change it by navigating t Setup > Change . Security administratrs can als change addresses n the User Management screen. 17 New Icn Shws Wh Is in the Mdel When yu first enter the Base mdel, r switch t anther mdel, a silhuette icn is displayed in the upper right crner f the main screen t let yu knw if ther users are als in the mdel. Hver ver the icn t see the names f the users. (N icn is shwn If yu are the nly user in the mdel.) The prgram's previus lcking behavirs have nt changed, but t avid lcking warnings, it can be helpful t knw in advance if ther users are in the same mdel. Reprt Writer Reprts Lad Mre Quickly In the 2018 release, the visible prtin f a Reprt Writer reprt that yu are pening will appear quickly, while the rest f the reprt lads behind the scenes. Since the reprts nw lad faster, yu may ccasinally see sme cells filled with questin marks while the values are being calculated. These cells will be nn-editable until the values are filled in. Reprts Can Nw Be Exprted t and Imprted frm Excel Functinality has been added t Reprt Writer that makes it pssible fr users t exprt their reprts t Excel, and then after custmizing the appearance f the reprts, t imprt the Excel frmatting back t Reprt Writer. Use the Reprt Writer File > Exprt cmmand t exprt reprts as either.xlsx r.xls files. When this is dne, nly data is exprted, nt frmulas. In additin, embedded graphs are exprted as images. Use the Reprt Writer File > Imprt cmmand t bring the reprts' new frmatting back int Reprt Writer. In the Open Reprt dialg bx, chse the Excel Frmatting (*.xlsx) ptin. 18 Reprt Wizard Reprt Wizard Reprts Can Be Saved as Excel Files Excel is nw an utput frmat ptin fr Reprt Wizard reprts, in the Save As bx, n the Summary tab. Clearing Unit Distributin Reprt Can Include All Accunts Previusly, the Dcumentatin > Setup > Clearing Unit Distributin reprt did nt shw accunts with a distributin actin f Nne. Nw, the new Include Accunts with n Distributins ptin, fund n the Reprt Wizard's Frmat tab, makes it pssible t display all Balance Sheet, Incme Statement, and Rate accunts n the reprt. New Prduct PA Reprts and Special Accunt Cdes - nly T prvide mre meaningful Prduct reprting, three new reprts have been added t the Allcatins reprt type: Prduct Trend Prvides high level incme/expense, balance, and statistical data trend analysis, by prduct. Prduct Prfit Summary Prvides a prduct prfitability incme statement, summarized by prduct-specific special accunt cdes. Prduct Prfit Per Accunt Prvides the same infrmatin as the Prduct Prfit Summary reprt, n a per accunt basis. These reprts make use f new PROFITability (PA) special accunt cdes. Befre yu can btain useful infrmatin frm these reprts, it is necessary t assign PA special accunt cdes t the nn-interest incme and expense accunts in the Chart f Accunts. 19 Except fr the Net FTP cde, all ther PA special accunt cdes can be used mre than nce. When the new reprts are generated, the lines n the reprts crrespnd t categries f incme r expenses, gruped using the special cdes. Amunts that cme frm accunts withut assigned special cdes are nw placed in an Uncded Expense line, immediately preceding Net Incme, n the Prduct Prfit reprts. Nte: These reprts are nly valid when Prduct Allcatins have been perfrmed. PROFITability Prduct Surveys Prduct Surveys - nly PROFITability nw gives clients running the Prduct dimensin a platfrm fr initiating, managing, and reviewing surveys that gather statistics abut the average amunt f time spent n varius prduct-related jb activities. These metrics are then used by PrfitStars t create rules fr prduct allcatins. The PROFITability Surveys wrkflw: 1. The parameters f a survey are defined n the Set Up Survey screen, including hw lng the survey will accept respnses, wh will receive ed links t the survey, and hw the results will be rganized and weighted. 2. The message text is custmized n the Templates tab f the Set Up Survey screen, if necessary. 3. The survey is started r scheduled fr later. 4. Survey takers fllw an ed link t a standard set f survey questins, maintained by PrfitStars and hsted n a secure website. 5. The survey's cmpletin prgress is mnitred, and specific results are viewed as surveys are returned. 6. Fllw up s are sent, if necessary, t survey takers wh have nt respnded. 7. If needed, the text can be changed r mre survey takers can be added, and the entire survey (r parts f it) can be scheduled t run again. 8. When the survey end date is reached, the survey is clsed. 9. Survey results are viewed and exprted t an Excel wrkbk. 10. An is sent, frm within the prgram, t schedule a cnsultatin with a PROFITability analyst t plan hw the survey results will be used t create allcatin rules. Release Ntes Jack Henry & Assciates, Inc.

20 Usage Statistics Mre Activities Included / Submitted as a Scheduled Activity With the permissin f an administratr-level user (granted when the usage statistics cnfirmatin message is accepted), the prgram gathers infrmatin related t hw it is used, cnfigured, and hw it perfrms. The insights btained frm these statistics will assist in the priritizatin f new features. In the 2018 editin, the infrmatin gathered and the prcess fr submitting it t PrfitStars has changed: New statistical infrmatin gathered Reprt Writer Open Reprt Writer Print Reprt Wizard Run IRSA Open IRSA Calculate Fair Value Open Fair Value Calculate Maturity Repricing Open Client Cmputer Server Cmputer SQL Server Cmputer Nw there are tw ways t submit the usage statistics G t Tls > Maintenance > Usage Statistics > Send t manually submit the cllected stats. G t Tls > Maintenance > Usage Statistics > Enable Scheduler t cause the stats t be submitted autmatically, nce a week, as a scheduled activity. 21 Fixed in 2018 The mst recent fixes included in the 2018 editin f PROFITstar and PROFITability are listed here. These items have all been crrected /01/18 UDQP Duplicate Key Errr When New Vlume is the Data Item This bug was similar t the UDQP Duplicate Key Errr fixed in the prir release, except that this errr ccurred when any rate-bearing Balance Sheet accunt had its Data Item set t New Vlume. Prepay Stress in the IRSA and Fair Value Calculatins In the IRSA r Fair Value Calculatin Optins, yu can specify hw prepayment speeds shuld be stressed. Hwever, after calculating IRSA r Fair Value, there was n change t the prepayment speeds fr any accunts that used instrument level detail. Regardless f the calculatin ptin selected, prepayment stress was ignred fr these accunts. Cash Flw Reprt and Print Levels The Analytical > Cash Flw reprt is nt intended t be affected by print levels. Hwever, in 2017 and 2018, when a higher print level was used with the reprt, all accunts were still shwn but sme amunts were missing. The reprt was incrrectly trying t hnr print settings higher than 1. Release Ntes Jack Henry & Assciates, Inc.

22 /17/18 Fair Value Calculatin and Discunt Spread In prir versins f 2018, if setup was changed (in Chart f Accunts > Matr/Repr tab > Fair Value Optins) s that the Discunt Spread was affected, calculating Fair Value did nt update the Discunt Spread value. Befre this fix, users had t g t Tls > Maintenance > Calculate Discunt Spread t accmplish this. Last FV Calc Date in Reprt Wizard Previusly in 2018, when the Fair Value Matrix reprt was selected, in the Reprt Wizard, the Last FV Calc date displayed n the Selectin tab was incrrect. 23 Lng Titles in Setup Reprts If a user requested lng accunt titles fr any Dcumentatin > Setup reprt that shwed titles, the prgram still displayed shrt titles. (The ne exceptin was the Balance Sheet Setup reprt.) Order f Selected Prjectins in a UDQP Grup When User-Defined Quick Prjectins were cmbined int a Prjectins Grup, they didn t always stay in the desired rder if that rder was nt alphabetical r numerical. UDQP Duplicate Key Errr Fllwing a 2012 t 2018 data cnversin, sme datasets returned an errr if users made changes t and then attempted t save an existing User- Defined Quick Prjectin. Data Has Changed Message in Allcatins When a Range f Mnths ptin was used t run Allcatins, the label in Allcatins and n the reprts was incrrectly saying that data had changed since the last time Allcatins were run.
