4 1 Setting up MxSolutions with HealthLink Please note: You will need to have the latest version of HealthLink SIX messaging installed. The HLINK directory will need to be shared and users will need to have read/write permissions to it. If you are unsure about whether you have the latest HealthLink SIX software, or whether you have HealthLink at all then please contact the HealthLink helpdesk on Before you begin, make sure that the workstation that will be used to download the messages has access to the Healthlink folder on the server. 1.1 Enable Messaging To setup MxSolutions for Healthlink, perform the following steps: Start MxSolutions Select MxSolutions > Reference Files. A practice details menu will be installed. Select Reference Files > Practice Details. A series of configuration windows will be opened. The first window that is opened contains the practitioner provider details. In the EDI column, put the Healthlink EDI codes for the practitioners at this location Figure 1 - Provider Details Screen Click the green Tick button. 5 Figure 2 - Linked Files and Messaging options Make sure the "Messaging" checkbox is checked. Click the green Tick button. The following message will be displayed: Click OK. Click the green Tick on each screen until there are no more screens to be displayed. The Messaging menu will become enabled in the MxSolutions menu. 6 1.2 Messaging Preferences Before setting up the Messaging Preferences, you need to create a "Trash" folder in the Healthlink folder on the server. This is used to store messages that are to be deleted. Select MxSolutions > Messaging > Preferences. The following window will be displayed: Figure 3 - Messaging Preferences To accept the default locations for all folders, click the Defaults button. The following window will be displayed: Figure 4 - Default Folder Dialog Box Locate the Healthlink folder on the server, and then click Choose. The messaging preferences will be set with the default folders for all paths. Installation Guide Companion for Clinical Vendor Name Page 6 of 12
7 Set any default message options by choosing from the droplists and selecting the appropriate checkboxes. These are then used as the default values when creating a new message. Click the green Tick to save these changes. You will only need to setup these values once. Please note: The system paths mentioned above correspond to network locations. The network locations will vary from site to site. It is best practice to use full network paths to browse to the HLINK folder location. The HLINK directory will need to be shared and users will need to have read/write permissions to it. If you are unsure about the paths mentioned above or have any other queries, please call the HealthLink helpdesk on Referring Doctor EDI Codes Each referring doctor can have a HealthLink EDI account associated with them. To set the EDI codes for an individual doctor, perform the following steps: Select MxSolutions > Reference Files. The Reference Files menu is displayed. Select Reference Files > Referral Details. The following window is displayed: Locate the required doctor. Select Commands > Edit Figure 5 - Referring Doctor Window Installation Guide Companion for Clinical Vendor Name Page 7 of 12
8 Enter the HealthLink EDI account code. If this doctor can send acknowledgements, then check the "Can Send Acknowledgements" checkbox. Check which message types this doctor can receive: HL7 and/or PIT. Note that if you do not check at least one message type you will not be able to send messages to this doctor. Click the green Tick to save changes. 1.4 Import EDI Codes It is possible to import EDI codes for all referring doctors in one operation. Before you begin you must have a CSV formatted file which contains the following columns: Column Full Name Prov No Surname Phone No Fax No Product Surgery Name EDI Message Types Description The referring doctors name eg Dr Fred Bloggs The doctors provider number The doctors Surname The doctors Phone number The doctors Fax number Not used The name of the practice The EDI code for this doctor The types of message this doctor can receive. Can contain PIT, HL7 or PIT+HL7 The import option is based on the provider number. If there is not a matching provider number, then the referring doctor is not updated. To import the EDI Codes, perform the following steps: Select MxSolutions > Reference Files. The Reference Files menu is displayed. Select Reference Files > Referral Details. The referring doctor details window is displayed. Select Commands > Import EDI Codes. The following message is displayed: Figure 6 - Import EDI Codes Message 1 Click Yes. 10 2 Importing Messages Messages are accessed from MxSolutions > Messaging > Messages. selected, the following window is displayed: When Figure 10 - Messaging Main Window To check for new messages, click "Refresh". The window has a toolbar with the following buttons: Icon Name Description New Compose a new message View View the selected message in a separate viewer window. Previous Display the previous message in the list. Next Display the next message in the list. Delete Place the selected message in the trash. 11 Icon Name Description Undelete Restore a message previously put in the trash. Refresh File Empty Trash Search Print Manually check for new messages and update the display. Note that the system will automatically check for new messages every 5 minutes by default. Link a message to a particular patient. Once a message has been linked, it is moved out of the inbox. Permanently remove messages which have been put in the trash. Note that once the trash is emptied, these messages cannot be recovered. Locate a particular message based on a number of search criteria. Print the selected message to the printer Resend Queue a message to be sent a second time The sidebar has the following buttons: Icon Name Description Inbox Display messages in the Inbox. These are messages which have not be viewed, or filed against a patient. Filed Display messages which have been filed against a patient. Outbox Sent Display messages which have been queued to be sent. This option is only available for recipients who can send acknowledgements. If the recipient cannot send acknowledgements, then the message is put in the Sent mailbox immediately. Display messages which have been sent. Trash Pending Display messages which have been placed in the trash. Messages placed in the trash can be retrieved using the "Undelete" function in the toolbar.
