4 Before You Begin 1. Make sure you have installed the latest version of Healthlink SIX messaging system (HMS version 6.6.x) in your system. 2. It is recommended that the Healthlink SIX messaging is installed on the same server as the Zedmed software. 3. If Healthlink SIX messaging is on the same server as Zedmed use Integration Guide for Zedmed with Healthlink on same server. 4. The HLINK directory described in this guide should be created on Zedmed Server computer as described in this guide. HLINK directory should be shared and users will need to have full (read/write) permission to it. 5. We advice to use full network paths when you configure the HLINK directory. For example \\zedmedservername\hlink 6. If you are unsure on any of the above, please contact the Healthlink Helpdesk on zedmedservername is the name of your computer or server where the Zedmed Clinical System is installed. Page 4 of 14
5 Setting up Healthlink with Zedmed Creating the HLINK folder on the Zedmed Server 1- In the root directory of the Zedmed Server create a folder called HLINK 2- In the HLINK folder create subfolders of HL7_in, HL7_out and PIT_in. 3- In the subfolders of HL7_in and HL7_out create two more folders of LAB2 and RSDAU. Setting up HLINK Directory in Zedmed 1- Open the Zedmed clinical application with administrator rights. 2- From the Reception TAB click on the Clinical Records button. This will bring Zedmed Clinical screen. 3- From the menu click on Tools>Global Options to open the global options screen 4- Click on Communications and General tab 5- In the Healthlink Install Directory type in \\zedmedservername\hlink. 6- Click on OK to save the changes To add file extensions follow the Add file extension process in the Appendix section of this guide. 6 Setting Healthlink SIX Client Messaging These settings are only used if the Healthlink SIX Client Messaging and Zedmed are on different Serves. 1. On the computer where the Healthlink Client is installed, open the Healthlink SIX Advanced Options. Click Start > Programs > Healthlink SIX > HMS Advanced Options 2. Click on the NT Service tab and Stop and Uninstall Service. 3. Click on the Scheduler tab and change the mode to Unattended (Hands Free) 4. From the menu, click Configuration > User Settings. The User Settings window will appear. 5. Click on the Message Types tab 6. Scroll down the Message Types list and select LAB2 7. Click on the Directories tab in the lower part of the screen 8. Click the Edit/More button. The Messaging Directories window will appear. 9. Change the Incoming Message Directory to \\zedmedservername\hlink\hl7_in\lab2 10. Change the Outgoing Message Directory to \\zedmedservername\hlink\hl7_out\lab2 11. Click the Close button Page 6 of 14
7 12. Scroll down the Message Types list and select RSDAU 13. Click on the Directories tab in the lower part of the screen 14. Click the Edit/More button. The Messaging Directories window will appear. 15. Change the Incoming Message Directory to \\zedmedservername\hlink\hl7_in\rsdau 16. Change the Outgoing Message Directory to \\zedmedservername\hlink\hl7_out\rsdau 17. Click the Close button 18. Scroll down the Message Types list and select PIT 19. Click on the Directories tab in the lower part of the screen Page 7 of 14
8 20. Click the Edit/More button. The Messaging Directories window will appear. 21. Change the Incoming Message Directory to \\zedmedservername\hlink\pit_in 22. Click the Close button 23. If you are in South Australia, Western Australia or Tasmania, Scroll down the Message Types list and select Broadcst 24. Click on the Directories tab in the lower part of the screen 25. Click the Edit/More button. The Messaging Directories window will appear. 26. Change the Incoming Message Directory to \\zedmedservername\zedmed\download 27. Click the Close button 28. From the File menu, click Save All 29. Close the Healthlink Six Advance options. Page 8 of 14
9 Testing Your Configuration Healthlink SIX Messaging can generate test messages to test configuration. The test messages are sent to practice EDI to be imported into the practice clinical software to ensure all configurations are working. Generating LAB 2 Test Messages 1. Load HMS Advanced Options from All Programs 2. From menu click Utilities>Test Message Generator. The Test Message Generator window will appear. 3. The sending and receiving EDI account will automatically fill with the practice EDI. 4. Click on Lab2 and then on the Generate Test Message button. Generating RSDAU Test Messages 1. To generate an RSDAU message click RSDAU and then click on the Generate Test Message button. Making Healthlink Connection Manually 1. From system tray right click on Healthlink Icon and click on open 2. The Healthlink SIX screen will come up. Click on Run Now to make a Healthlink connection. 3. Once the Healthlink connection is completed, the test messages are downloaded into their respective incoming folders for ZEDMED to import. Page 9 of 14
10 Importing Results Messages can either be imported automatically or manually into Zedmed. Both methods of import will import all the results in the any of the incoming directories. 1 To import the messages, automatically into the Zedmed Clinical system following settings needs to be applied. 2 From the menu click on Tools>Global Options to global options screen, click on Results and click Import results automatically every 5 minutes. You can choose inbox refresh rate as required. 3 To import the messages, manually on the Zedmed Clinical window, click on Results and then Import Laboratory Results or press Ctrl +F6 on keyboard. 4 Once the results are processed, you will receive a log file on the screen showing brief description of the message and if the message was successfully imported or rejected by Zedmed. If Zedmed does reject a message this will be included in the log file and the message will be moved to C:\HLINK\HL7_in\LAB2\error\ This log file is purely for informational purposes, however this log file can be saved if required for troubleshooting any message rejected by Zedmed and can be viewed from Results Inbox screen as well. For any help with troubleshooting the error you can call Healthlink Helpdesk on Page 10 of 14
11 View Results 1 Either click the Results Inbox icon or Press F6 key on the keyboard or click on Results>Results Inbox from the Zedmed menu. 2 Select Doctor or All Roles from the Role drop down box to view the messages in the inbox. Zedmed creates acknowledgments for all HL7 messages it imports. To send acknowledgments for the test messages follow the HealthLink Connection instructions in Making Healthlink Connection Manually of this document. To determine if the acknowledgments were sent successfully look up HealthLink folders as described in Appendix of this document. Page 11 of 14
12 Appendix Add File Extension in Zedmed 1- From the menu click on Tools>Global Options to display the global options screen. 2- Click on Communications tab 3- Click on Add button in File extensions to import section. 4- Enter the desired extension (RRI, REF) in Add New File extension box and click on ok. Setting Document Handling in Zedmed For Zedmed to show the distribution Dialog box and to create letters to HLINK folders, Show the distribution Dialog check box needs to be ticked in Document Handling tab. 1- From Zedmed Clinical Got to Tools>My Options and click on Document Hangling Tab and check that Show the distribution Dialog is ticked.
