1 How to Register Students for Mastering The following information applies to Mastering Biology, Mastering Chemistry, Mastering Physics and all Pearson AP Mastering Sites. To register for your Mastering course, your teacher will give you an access code consisting of six nonsense words, like SSNAST-COILS-BEACH-ROAMS-BLAST-TOPICS Use your code and follow these steps Step 1: Enter wwwpearsonschool.com/access in your web browser address bar Step 2: Enter the word SSNAST in the box and click the Enter Code button Step 3: Select Covered Titles, then choose Science and then choose your title. If you can t find your text, check with your teacher. You may have a text that requires you to register at Mastering.

2 Step 4: If this information matches your title, select Student Registration Step 5: Read and Accept Pearson s License Agreement and Privacy Policy.

3 Step 6: Creating your Pearson account. Do you already have a Pearson account? Select No if this is your first Pearson Mastering or MyLab course. You will be asked to create a user name and password. Select Yes if you have already registered for a Pearson Mastering or MyLab Program. You will be asked to enter your user name and password. If you re Nor Sure the system will check for you. Once you have created or entered your user name and password, enter the code supplied by your teacher. Step 7: Entering your profile Personal Information: It is recommended that you use your school address if you have one. School Information: After entering your school zip code, a list of schools will appear. If you don t see your school, select Other and then add the name of your school. When complete, select Next.

4 Step 8: Onscreen confirmation Congratulations! You are now registered. Click Log IN Now to enter your site. Step 9: Joining a Course Your teacher should have a course and provided you with a ID, Check Yes and enter the ID in the box that appears. created Course Course Click Continue. Step 10: Exploring your home page. Notice on your homepage there are a number of blue tabs or links to your Course Home, Assignments, Scores, etext and Study Area. Feel free to explore these tabs. A good place to start learning about Mastering is to go to the Learn More section of your homepage and access some of the training videos.

5 In future, when you want to go back to your website, go directly to your Mastering. Site etc Click Sign In. And then sign in with your user name and password and you will have access to your website. Would you like to access your etext on an ipad? To access your etext, you can download the Pearson etext App. Go to the App Store and Search for Pearson etext. You ll have three to choose from. The one you want is the one with this icon When you log in, use the same username and password you use for the site on your computer

6 Would you like to access all of Mastering on an ipad? The full Mastering platform will also work on an ipad if you access it through the free Puffin Academy App. Go to the App Store and search for and download Puffin Academy. Puffin Academy is a filtered website that runs Flash-based programs on an ipad. It is not an open browser. Students are limited to accessing only vetted, white-listed educational programs. For more information on Puffin Academy, please refer to their FAQ Website Once you launch Puffin Academy on your ipad, you can search for Mastering Biology, Mastering Chemistry, Mastering Physics, etc Then click Go Then log in using your user name and password and you will have access to your full website.
