3 Welcome to Mango Languages! Before we get started, here are a few tips to streamline the process. DO: Access from your computer or ipad (via Safari web browser, not the app). DO: Create a Group for your class, locate the Invite Code, and then create a Group Invite shortcut link. DO: Send the Group Invite Code and shortcut link to your students using Canvas . DO: Make sure students accept your Invite Code via their and choose the Language (from a computer). Then, have them install the free Mango Languages app on their ipads. DO: Ensure your students select the same language you are teaching in your course (Spanish of Spain, or Spanish of Latin America). DO: Advise students to view lessons and practice speaking into the microphone on their ipads or Computers. DO: View students progress and Assessment Results from the Assessment page. DO: Use the Library link to access Mango when you re off-campus: Select the Mango image located in rotating gallery at the bottom center of the screen. Students accessing Mango on a personal computer from offcampus must use the Library link as well. The ipad App should work as it always does from anywhere. DON T: Advise students to take Chapter Quizzes from the ipad. Assessments can only be done via computers.

4 Step 1: Create a group for your course To get started, enter the following url into your web browser on your computer or ipad (Safari): Your log-info is your Lynn University address. The password is: mango123.

5 Once you are signed in, select the Groups icon on the left side of the screen. Then, create a New Group by pressing the orange plus sign (towards the right of the screen). Name your group with: Your First & Last Name and the Language you will teach. For example: Dawn Dubruiel s Italian Course. Then press Save.

6 Step 2: Create & your Group Invite Codes You are now rerouted to your Groups page. Here, you will find the Invite Codes for all of your groups. Best Practice! all of your students the invite code via Canvas. Be sure to provide the alphanumeric code (for manual enrollment) and the shortcut link (for automatic enrollment). Instructions for creating your shortcut link are listed below. Your Mango Languages Group Invite Code will be five alphanumeric digits. In this example, you can see the code for Dawn s Italian Course is: CEHV8. (See above screenshot.) In the body of the , provide the Mango Languages website url: and the five-digit alphanumeric Invite Code. Instruct students to enter the code (manually) on the Groups page. Students can also click the Invite Code s shortcut link to automatically enroll. To create your Invite Code s shortcut link: 1) Make a note of your five-digit alphanumeric code. In this case: CEHV8 2) Add the website with the following words and slashes: + /groups + /join + Invite Code In this case, Dawn s Italian Course Group Invite shortcut link is:

7 Example of a Mango Languages Group Invite Dear Students, Before class, please use a computer and enter this Group Invite Code to enroll. Go to: and sign in with your username (Lynn address) and password (mango123). Select the Groups icon on the left side of the screen, click Join Group, and enter this five-digit alphanumeric code: CEHV8 You can also click this shortcut link to automatically enroll: Looking forward to seeing you in class! Once students receive your , they can click on the Mango Languages url, select the Groups icon on the left side of the screen, and press Join a Group. Then, students will need to enter the Invite Code (from your ), and press Join. Students can also click the shortcut link (hyperlinked in blue) to automatically enroll.

Click the Languages icon on the left side of the screen, and choose the Language.

8 Step 3: Advise your students which specific Language to choose Once students have joined your group, let them know which Language to select. This must be done from the computer. Click the Languages icon on the left side of the screen, and choose the Language. All Languages are located in the center of the screen. In this example, we will choose Italian from the list of Languages.

Have them install the Mango Languages app

To do so, have them go to the App Store,

9 Step 4: Installing the Mango Languages app on students ipads At this point, students are in your Group and have selected the course s language. Have them install the Mango Languages app on their ipads. To do so, have them go to the App Store, enter Mango Languages into the search field, and tap GET. Once the Mango Languages app is installed, they can learn lessons on their ipads from anywhere! J They can also practice their sentence structure and accent using their ipad s built-in microphone.

In the screenshots below, you will see that the Chapter Quiz, as well as all assessments, must be

Step 5: Track your students progress and assessment results You can see your students progress and scores by going into your Group, and clicking the student s name, or by

When you click on a student s name, you will see how long he/she spent in each lesson, and their Assessment Results.

12 You can also click the Assessment icon to see all of your students assessment results in percentages. From this view, let s focus on one student, and will use Nunzia for this example. She completed the quiz in Chapter 1. Click View.

13 You will be brought to a page with a Summary of her Chapter 1 Quiz results, with Details.

When working from home or off-campus Use the Library link to access Mango when you are off-campus: www.lynn.edu/library.
