1 How to install and use the "Turbine Trend" ipad App 1- Go to the Apple "App Store". 2- Look for "Turbine Trend". 3- Download the App. 4- Install the App on your ipad: 5- Before you can enter data for the first time, you must create an aircraft. This is easily done by clicking the " " (add) in the top bar of the "Aircraft" column (if viewing in 'Portrait', click "View/Edit Aircraft" to see the "Aircraft" column):

2 6- Once done the "New Aircraft Wizard" panel will be displayed and you will have to enter the following information: "Enter Aircraft Name" You can enter the aircraft registration number, serial number, or another custom name for your aircraft. "Select Engine Count" Click the number of engines on your aircraft. "Select Engine Type" Selecting 'Turboprop' or 'Turbofan' allows the program to select the appropriate data entry template. "Select Air Temperature Type" Select either 'Indicated Outside Air Temperature' (IOAT), 'Static Air Temperature' (SAT), or 'Total Air Temperature' (TAT). "Autosend?" When 'on' (default setting) this feature will automatically create an addressed to whenever a new trend reading is added. When 'off' the program will only record/store the added new trend reading which can be later with other trend readings if desired.

3 Click "Save" in the top right corner (an "Aircraft Data Saved" confirmation pop-up message will be displayed). If you do not have additional aircraft to add then you should be ready to enter data: 7- To view/edit an aircraft click the "Edit" button in the top bar of the "Aircraft" column (if viewing in 'Portrait', click "View/Edit Aircraft" to see the "Aircraft" column) then click the " " button at the right of the desired aircraft:

4 You will then be able to do the following changes: "Aircraft Name" You can edit the name of the aircraft. "Custom Photo" You can upload a saved photo by clicking the " and selecting a photo. " (camera) button "Parameter Template" You can choose between 'Turboprop', 'Turbofan', and 'Custom'. If you modify a 'Turboprop' or 'Turbofan' template, it will automatically change to 'Custom'. 8- If you have multiple aircraft that need to be setup with customized settings, you can create one and then copy (duplicate) the aircraft. Click the "Edit" button in the top bar of the "Aircraft" column (if viewing in 'Portrait', click "View/Edit Aircraft" to see the "Aircraft" column). Tap the circle in front of the subject aircraft then click the " " (action icon) and select "Copy". This will bring up the "New Aircraft Wizard" where you can rename the aircraft. All other custom settings will remain the same:

5 9- Before starting entering your trend reading(s) for the first time, it is suggested to review the default data entry screen based on the selected 'turboprop' or 'turbofan' template by clicking the "Enter Data" button, in the left bottom side of the displayed aircraft picture: Should the displayed parameters are not as desired because some don't apply, are not listed or are not in the desired order based on your aircraft instrumentation then you can customize the data entry screen by going to Edit Aircraft as follow:

6 a) Click the "Edit" button in the top bar of the "Aircraft" column (if viewing in 'Portrait', you click "View/Edit Aircraft" to see the "Aircraft" column) then click the " " at the right of the aircraft name. To change to order listing of a particular parameter, hold the " of the desired parameter(s) and slide it to the desired location. To turn a particular parameter on or off, click the " " button. " in the right side To customize any of the parameter settings, click the " " button. From the settings screen you can change the parameter name, adjust the allowable data entry range, and select the corresponding unit for the parameter. To add a parameter, first turn on a blank parameter by sliding the " " button then click the " " button. This will bring up the parameter settings screen where you can name the parameter, enter an allowable range (if applicable) and identify the parameter as an "Airframe" or "Engine" parameter. If " " (none) is selected, this will allow the user to enter alphanumeric text into the parameter field. When done click "Save" on the parameter settings screen.

7 b) Once the desired change(s) done, click the "Save" in the Edit Aircraft panel. To cancel any change(s), click the "Cancel" in the top bar of the "Aircraft" column. 10- It is also suggested to review the default 'Settings' screen clicking the " " (Settings) icon, in the top right corner. On this screen you can: Select the desired "Date Format" (MM-DD-YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY or YYYY-MM-DD). Select the desired "Time Format" (AM/PM or 24 HOURS). Set on (default) or off "Autosend" that will automatically create an , using the declared address(es), whenever a new trend is reading is added. Set on or off (default) "Return Key Top/Down" that will change the data entry navigation from the default of left to right to up and down. Enter 4 additional addresses that will populate the when you are ing data from within the app. Once the desired change(s) done, click "Save". To cancel any change(s) or exit, click "Cancel".

8 11- To enter your trend reading(s), click the "Enter Data" button, on the left bottom side of the displayed aircraft picture: The "Date" field will automatically be populated using the system date from your ipad. You can edit the date if you want to enter data from a previous date. If not already done, you can change the date format by clicking the " " (Settings) icon.

9 Most of the fields will have an allowable data range. If you enter a value outside the allowable range, you will be prompted to enter a value within the allowable range. The allowable range can be modified for any parameter by following the instructions in step 9. You can navigate the fields by tapping into the next desired field or by clicking "Next" on the keyboard. By default, the "Next" button will navigate from left to right. If not already done, you can change this by clicking the " " (Settings) icon and turn on "Return Key Top/Down". Once all the fields have been populated, click "Save" in the top right corner and you are returned to the home screen. 12- Once your stable cruise data has been entered, you should review your data by clicking the "View Data" button, on the right bottom side of the displayed aircraft picture: 13- Should you notice a data entry mistake; you can edit the subject reading by taping on it then click "Edit Selected":

10 This will open the data entry screen and populate the fields with the previously entered data. You can edit any of the fields except for the date. If you need to edit the date, the entire reading must be deleted (by clicking "Delete this Entry") and re-entered. 14- To delete reading(s), click "View Data" button, on the right bottom side of the displayed aircraft picture from the home screen:

11 Tap the reading you want to delete and click "Edit Selected". This will open the data entry screen and populate the fields with the previously entered data. Click the " " (Delete this Entry) button located underneath the aircraft picture. You will be asked for confirmation. If you want to delete all the data in your application for an aircraft, it may be quicker to just delete the aircraft.

12 15- If your ipad is setup to print over a wireless network then your can print a spreadsheet of the entered data by clicking "Print" in the "View Data" screen:

13 16- To create an with a CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file for all the data that exists in the app for an aircraft, select " " from the "View Data" screen: This will use the ipad's default account to give you a preview of the . You can type a message into the and you can add or remove recipients. Default recipients can be setup in the "Settings" ( ) window. You can also configure your app to automatically create a new to send each time a new trend reading is entered (see "Autosend" in "Settings").

14 You can a selection of data by clicking "Export" from the "View Data" screen.
