1 Version 2.0 Document Generation Date 2/27/2008 Date Modified 2/27/2008 Last Changed by ASDS Status Final Searching for Classes Concept Use the Class Search feature to search or browse for classes within a specific institution and term. When you search for open classes, the system uses a virtual status to determine whether or not a combined section class appears on the Class Search Results page. If the class has a virtual status of closed, the class will not appear on the Class Search Results page for open classes. The system calculates a virtual status for combined sections because combined section classes have combined enrollment capacities. For example, two classes, each with enrollment capacity of 30 are combined and the overall enrollment capacity is set to 30. Then if 15 students enroll in each of the sections, the overall limit is reached and both sections are closed for further enrollment. The virtual status of each section is set to closed.
