1 Processing Block Enrollments Note: This is a 3 step process: Step 1: Create Class Block 1. Navigate to the Create Class Block page. Pathname: Records and Enrollment > Enroll Students > Block Enrollment > Create Class Block 2. Click the Add a New Value tab. 3. Complete the following fields: Academic Institution (may default to OSUSI) Class Enrollment Block: create an abbreviation of the class block. Note: The class block will be stored in the user s database when saved and can be reused for future block enrollment requests by clicking Search under the Find an Existing Value tab. 4. Click. 1 P age

2 5. Create a *Description for the Class Enrollment Block. The description should adequately identify the group being created, especially if it is to be reused in the future. 6. Complete the following required information fields on the Block Enrollment Classes page: *Term *Action = Enroll Class Nbr Note: If you don't know the Class Number, you can use the look-up glass icon to search for it in the Schedule of Classes. 7. Complete additional information/criteria fields on the Block Enrollment Classes page if applicable. Grading Basis Units Crse Count Related 1 Related 2 Action Dt (mmddyyyy) Reason Drop if Enroll Grade In Transcript Note ID Repeat Code Overrides Group Box 2 P age

3 Note: Use discretion and override appropriately. The most commonly used overrides are Appointment (Enrollment Appointment), Class Limit and Class Permission. 8. To add additional courses to the block, insert a new row and repeat steps 5 through Click. Step Two: Create Student Block 1. Navigate to the Create Student Block page. Pathname: Records and Enrollment > Enroll Students > Block Enrollment > Create Student Block 2. Click the Add a New Value tab. 3. 5 Step Three: Merge a Class Block with a Student Block 1. Navigate to the Block Enroll Merge page. Pathname: Records and Enrollment > Enroll Students > Block Enrollment > Block Enroll Merge Note: You may also access this page directly from either the Student or Class Block pages by clicking on Add Merge Process (see screenshots on p.2 and p.4). 2. Click the Add a New Value tab. 3. Complete the following fields: Academic Institution (may default to OSUSI) Student Block = Type the name of the block or click look-up glass icon to search for your block. Class Block = Type the name of the block or click look-up glass icon to search for your block. 4. Click. 5. Click to complete the block enrollment process. 5 P age

6 Note: This runs the process that merges the student block with the class block. Once the merge is complete, the fields in the Merge Blocks group box become unavailable for entry. 6. Click to view details of the merge and/or any errors that may have resulted. Status will reflect either Success or Errors. Note: This retrieves all the results of the merging process. To narrow the search, enter values for any of the Filtering Criteria. The Block Enroll Detail page will be returned where the results of the selection can be viewed. 7. Click Detail for more information regarding any errors for a particular student. Error messages will appear in the Messages box. 6 P age
