2 For security in the DI and GPS sections of the store, Best Buy primarily uses MTI s Freedom system to secure the devices. There are 3 different styles that can be used. They look similar but all function in little different ways. The following are the different systems that can be located in your stores. Freedom C Hybrid Freedom Universal (U) Freedom Universal 2.0 (U 2.0)

3 Freedom C Hybrid and Freedom U Posts The different types of posts can be identified by looking at the back of the puck. On the back of a Freedom C Hybrid puck there will be a HYB imprint (or sticker) on the post. Only pucks with HYB imprint (or sticker) will work on this system. The Freedom U Puck will not have any imprints. It is very important the proper puck is used to prevent damage and insure the product will be properly secure. Freedom C Hybrid Freedom U Post

4 Securing the Freedom C Hybrid and Freedom U Posts Set alarm key switch to DISABLE ALARM. Locate 3/16 Ball End Hex Wrench. Slide hex wrench into side of the puck to raise mounting screw.

5 Securing the Freedom C Hybrid and Freedom U Posts 4 Place product on mounting screw. Make sure front of product faces the side of the puck with the circular logo. 5 Begin securing the product to the puck by using the hex wrench to get the mounting screw started. Before tightening the screw, position the anti-rotation sliders so they fit tightly against the product. The anti rotation brackets should be on the same side of the post. Then tighten the mounting screw so it is snug, but do not over tighten.

6 Securing the Freedom C Hybrid and Freedom U Posts 6 Plug the Smart Cable into the back of the puck and connect the other end to the product. 7 Reset the alarm keys witch to ALARM ON. Turn on the device to verify it powers up. Once you verify power, verify that the light on the puck is on and not blinking.

7 Securing the Freedom Universal 2.0 Posts 1 Set the alarm key switch to DISABLE ALARM. 2 Use 1/8 security hex wrench to loosen the cap screw on the bottom of puck; then slide the cap forward and remove.

8 Securing the Freedom Universal 2.0 Posts 3 Install anti-rotation sliders into the cap. 4 Begin securing the product to the cap by using the hex wrench to get the mounting screw started. Before tightening the screw, position the anti-rotation sliders so they fit tightly against the product. Then tighten the mounting screw so it is snug, but do not over tighten.

9 Securing the Freedom Universal 2.0 Posts 5 Place the cap back onto the puck. Tighten the security screw to hold the cap in place. 6 Plug the SmartCable into the back of the puck and connect the other end to the product

10 Securing the Freedom Universal 2.0 Posts 7 Reset the alarm key switch to ALARM ON. Turn on the device to verify that it powers up. 8 Verify that the puck light ring is on and not blinking.

11 Securing the GPS Units To secure a GPS unit you use an angle bracket. The angle bracket secures to the puck using the same method as installing a camera. The GPS unit attaches to the angle bracket using a VHB pad. A secondary sensor located in the angle bracket provides security to the device and plugs into the 4 pin connection on the side of the puck.

12 InVue IR Security System For security on some of the endc aps in DI and GPS, Best Buy also uses InVue s IR security system to secure devices. Most of the InVue security runs off of a field replaceable battery. However some also have the ability to use power adapters that plug into the base of the unit to provide power and security to the device. The IR key that is used to silence alarms should be programmed daily but must be reprogrammed at least every 72 hours via the stores programming base station or it stops working. The correct sensors and adhesives must be used otherwise the product will not be properly secure.

13 Securing a Camera to an InVue Pod 1 Use a T-25 security torx tool and turn the screw on the bottom of the sensor less than a ¼ turn in the direction of the arrow to remove plate from stand. This will unlock the plate. 2 Tighten screw with the T-25 torx hex tool to secure plate to the bottom of the camera. Tighten so it is snug, but do not over tighten.

14 Securing a Camera to an InVue Pod 3 Once the bottom plate is secured to the camera, attach the camera onto the stand. 4 Use the T-25 security torx and turn the screw in the opposite direction of the arrow a ¼ turn to lock plate in place. 5 Plug the power adapter from the stand in to the camera. Make sure the camera is facing toward you on the stand. Assembly is now complete.

15 The IR Key and Programming Station To program the IR key place the IR Key directly onto the IR lens on the programming station and press the grey button once. A blue light on the base should illuminate. To verify programming, push the grey button on the IR Key. The green light will flash 2 times letting you know your key is programmed. If the key flashes only once the programming did not take. Try to program the key again. If problem persists a new key should be ordered via esource.
